Akshay Kumar has stolen many hearts across the globe and one of his main goals as an actor is to please his audience. "In his directorial debut, Desi Boyz, Rohit Dhawan has proved to be very much like his father with commendable cinematic excellence," says Akshay. This is a film that has many firsts. First commercial film for Rohit, first film that Chitrangada and Akshay are working together, and even "First time John and I are playing firemen," adds Akshay.
John and Akshay are working together after a long time. Akshay says, "John and me together in a film has been long overdue. We love working together and are great friends." Akshay believes that the one thing that has changed for John in his career is the growth of his career. "And of course his muscles," he laughs.
Desi Boyz is his third film with Deepika. About the better co-star, Deepika or Chitrangada, he says, "They're both from the South. They're very beautiful, very stunning and very tall."
Another release Akshay is looking forward to is Rowdy Rathore. Khiladi 786 is his next Diwali release. "It is too early for me to say anything about this film. But I am very excited to bring back the Khiladi series," says Akshay.
Rumours state that Akshay declined the role in Hera Pheri 3. But, the star has a different take on that. He says, "I haven't been offered the film yet. If I am offered it and if the script works for me, I will consider taking it up."
A few years ago, Akshay said in an interview, "You don't need to be a Khan to be successful." To this statement, he comments, "Anybody can be successful, even a Kapoor or a Kumar."
Akshay, a self-made star, offers "desi" tips to aspiring stars. He says, "Work hard, believe in God and destiny and touch your parents' feet every morning before stepping out."
