Chapter 91 – Settling Calm
Geet – "I trust you more than I trust myself and that is why I can believe you can lie for my happiness"
Maan – "We will talk about it later Jaan….first tell me what happened in the consult?"
----Flashback---
Geet entered Dr Juneja's clinic who discussed the report with her in general. All seemed fine,
Dr Juneja apprised the girl in front of her. She was very surprised that Dr Khurana who did not even give her a second glance, who never did follow ups even of celebrity patients; did follow up of this girl. What the hell was so special about her? She gave a sly smile – "Well that's it Ms. Geet. By the way congratulations that you manage to find a person who is ready to accept you knowing about your medical problems. You are indeed very lucky. By the way I hope he is aware of your disease and its implications."
Geet smiled. "Yes Doctor….he knows completely"
Kiran burned in jealousy – "Some girls have all the luck!!!"
Kiran – "Well good then…..he must love you a lot otherwise it is hard to find someone who vows to not only take care of you but also accept you knowing that he can never be a father"
Geet who had stood up to leave froze in her tracks. "What do you mean…can't become a father"
Kiran gleaned at she saw some ray of hope in demeaning the doctor who ignored her. Though only three years senior, he was head of department and she a mere junior surgeon.
"Off course….I am sure you are aware of long term implications of your hormonal issues"
Geet – "Yes but pregnancy"
Kiran gloated – "So it is obvious right….pregnancy is all about hormonal changes…I am surprised though that Dr Khurana never mentioned to you that that you will have problem in conceiving and carrying your pregnancy."
Geet just stood frozen. All rational thoughts fled her mind and she could not even formulate questions to ask about it further.
Her appointment time was over and she left the room dazed. By the time she came home, she was panicking. She became hysterical not finding anyone at home to unburden her fears and just shut herself in the room.

(Guys I have mentioned Kiran's POV here though off course Geet did not know that….it is just to bring clarity as to how and why things transpired the way they did)
Maan cupped her face gently and spoke with utmost love and care – "Mishti….meri jaan ho tum….ek baar ask you heart….kya tumhein sach mein lagta hai ki I will not share this information with you if it was truth….I have trust in our love Mishti….if this was true by now I would have discussed how many kids we want….should we go for surrogate, test tube or for adoption…because there is no way in hell I would let go of you….I would have still convinced you and that's my trust in my love.
And how can you even think of being incomplete. There are so many women who can't become mother biologically…do you really think they are any less complete or not as good a parent…no Mishti…..a women is complete when she feels love….love for her family…be it her parents, siblings, husbands, in-laws or her children.
I don't know why Kiran said what she said…. We can go tomorrow and discuss this with her again together….but the fact is that there is nothing wrong with you….yes there will be complications and it will be not easy…you will have to go for frequent tests but I know your strength Geet….I know you will do it and I will always be there with you….for our kids Geet….and God forbid if something happens because of which we don't succeed then it will be no different than those women who find out later that they have issues. We will work it out Jaan"
Tears were flowing from Geet's eyes and she just hugged Maan tight. "Maan….I am sorry….I just"
Maan got out of the hug and placed his finger on her lips – "Shhh….koi baat nahin Geet….I know this is a very emotional and sensitive topic for any woman…Don't worry…tumhein mujhse gussa hone ka pura haq hai….lekin tumhein manae ka bhi pura haq mujhe hai…hai na"
Geet just nodded her head. Maan kissed her forehead. "Tum muh saaf karo….main abhi aaya…kuch dikhana cahta hoon tumhein."
Saying this Maan came down. Everybody rushed to him. He smiled reassuringly – "Sab thik hai….I will just get her down for dinner in few minutes"
Saying this he grabbed his office bag and went upstairs again.
Geet came out of bathroom wiping her face. Maan grabbed her hand and made her sit on bed. He opened his laptop and showed her some articles.
"Dekho maine kuch months pehle hi research shuru kar di hai on all hormone changes that occur during post marriage and pregnancy….I have started collecting articles and medical papers in this regard….I never told you because I thought ki tum pagal samjhogi….shaadi hui nahin aur main yeh sab soch raha hoon"
Fresh tears welled in Geet's eyes at the depth of his love. How much he cares for her. He can never hurt her.
"Maan…mujhe laga ki mujhe khush rakhne ke liye shaayad aapne mujhe yeh baat chupai hai…I am sorry that I did not understand your depth"
Maan wiped her tears – "Kaisi baat kar rahi ho Geet…maine kaha na….yeh tumhara gussa tumhara haq hai….we are humans Geet and acha lagta hai jab tum haq se…apne Maan se roothti ho"
"Geet, I have learnt from you how to love…definition of love"
"Waise bhi Geet…sirf khushiyan to aquaintances ke saath baante hain….woh humaare apne hote hain jin ke saath we share our pain as well our happiness….Geet you are my life partner….my ardhangini…..I can never lie or not share my pain with you….and I don't expect you to do it either….yeh ek aisa rishta hai jismein sab kuch ek hai….sab kuch….and you know why….it is because we are one….our pain….our happiness is one….it is not possible that only one of us feel something and other not….it is our destiny….our relationship to always feel everything together."
Geet looked at awe at Maan….a man who cared and loved her beyond sanity.
She just nodded and kissed him full on lips to express her acceptance of truth of their relationship.
As their lips met, Maan kissed her back with all the love in his heart. Geet poured all her pain due to thoughts which seemed so silly suddenly. As the kiss deepened though, only thing left was passion.
They both parted after some time to grab air. Maan placed his forehead on hers – "Mishti….I don't know about you but both my soul and stomach are hungry….ab soul ki hunger to shaadi tak bardasht karni padegi lekin kuch to khayal karo mere pet ka"
Geet smiled and hid her face in his chest. They both straightened themselves and came downstairs where everyone was still waiting with tension evident on their face. They got up and felt relief as they saw Maan and Geet walk in hand in hand.
Geet came closer – "I am sorry everyone for my behavior…woh actually mein ghabra gayi thi"
Rishab interrupted her by putting his hand on her head – "Please Geet….sorry ki koi zaroorat nahin beta….sab kuch thik hai bas tum donon ke beech….aur kuch nahi cahiye humein"
Saying this he hugged her and everyone proceeded for dinner.
