It was as I had predicted, SS backed down and relented in favor of his mother's wishes. And because of the fact that she is the matriarch of that family, it was a big deal. Ganga is now acting very spoiled. She never takes the blame for anything. True, she didn't wish any harm to Komal or her child. But others have indirectly paid for her behavior. The entire Saxena family is paying, and they barely know her! Now, she is being told to stay away from the celebrations and she has the nerve to whine about it to SS of all people. She has been avoiding SS every chance she gets, spending her free time with Gunga and then expecting SS to dance to her tune. Like SS said, she doesn't act like a wife, yet she expects the same treatment of one. And like he said, the family doesn't take him seriously because he went against them and brought her in, giving her status and losing his own. She forgets she has married a Singh, and not one as nice as Baba. She is treading very thin ice and doesn't realize it. I knew Gunga would feel bad for her and try to cheer her up. But of course, herein the danger lies. A cute girl, and a tall cute guy together marks trouble when the house they live in is not theirs. And the owner of that house is also the husband of the girl. Pratigya going and looking for Ganga is silly. Why on earth does she have to interfere? She never approved of the marriage it's true, but why does she have to search her out? Is she following her instinct for trouble? I agree with Krishna here she could very well focus on her own marriage and not think of Ganga's. Ganga and Gunga on the roof was nice, at least it was a real celebration besides the family one where SS and KN are the only ones lighting crackers. And everyone else watches at a distance. It was a show of light and sound, but a temporary reprieve from the bitterness and discontentment SS has created. Diwali crackers, while good for a night's festivities, will not erase the pain Komal has gone through from everyone's mind. Prats is right when she feels this could be a new start for them. Of course, she has discovered a new start of a different sort. Ganga, who cant bear the touch of SS, has her hands all over Gunga. Ganga couldn't wait to put his finger in her mouth which was just so ridiculous. She couldn't blow on it like normal people? Or did she have the urge to just get his attention and hold it as long as possible. Hmmm. Whatever it was, had its effect on Gunga who now sees she loves him the same way he loves her. They didn't have to say it. Ganga is like her name, much so. She flows where she wants, in whatever direction and whenever she likes. But she doesn't have the power to withstand the wrath of others she destroys, unlike the real river. The hug scene was genuine. At least it was more so then the scene downstairs where people were simply happy to have a celebration without Ganga there to spoil it. She isn't seen as part of the family, so she doesn't have to be there. and majority rules. Did you see the different looks on their faces when Prats walked in on them in the final scene? Prats looked horrified, as if Ganga had painted the entire roof pink while she's supposed to be sulking in her room quietly. Ganga looked scared, the way she looks when SS is about to touch her or try to anyway, and Gunga looked angry. Like, "how dare you ruin my moment with her?" It was very interesting. Gunga wasn't afraid or anything, though he probably will be in the future. First Kesar, now Prats is in on the new couple and their romance. My money isn't on them running to the Saxenas for advice, although Arushi is there and could probably tell them what it's like to tangle with the Singhs and escape. As much as Ganga is wrong to develop such a bond between her and a household servant, I can't blame her. He's easy on the eyes, good-natured, would make a good friend for any girl. Of course, she is so bent on getting her way that she has alienated everyone in the Niwas. So that leaves Gunga, the outsider who knows what it is to be left out of every gathering. He merely helps them with their work, he doesn't take part in the fun. I kind of want them to be together, but of course that isn't possible. p.s. sorry for the long post, I seem to be really bored today. 😳
