Chapter 5
The unusual emperor
Maan had been informed by his Daadi that the girl was ready to be discharged and she would be coming to his home the next day. He hoped that the girl wouldnt face any problems in his house and was feeling extremely sorry for her. The guilt was eating him and he hoped that her family members would soon be united with her.
This was the MAAN KHURANA that nobody knew. Everybody knew him to be very stern and strict. He was thought to be one who didnt know anything else except work, work, work. Despite being in the fashion world, he rarely had the fun that other daddies of fashion shared with the hot, hot models and the other prominent members of the fashion industy. In fact, he didnt even do that. He hardly used to party and hanging out with people or socialising with them was something that wasnt there in his daily agenda. Many people criticised MK to be the Mr. Arrogant but nobody had the slightest courage to go and tell him in the face. But Maan knew what kind of remarks the people were making against him but he didnt care nor was he bothered about the image he had for himself in this damn industry. In fact, he hated being a part of this dirty industry where there was no value for your out of the world thinking nor your different personality. All this field cared about was success, money and fame. But Maan despised all of these. He had his own set of principles and didnt break them for some loser who had a problem with his behavior. This nature of Maan was known only to his Daadi and the rest had their own thoughts about this angry young man who was the big daddy of the fashion world. The world fell at his feet and MK's collection always was the highest sold collection in the whole world. The gross amount the collection gained was crores together and his shows had the highest number of audience turning up. The media didnt leave any stone unturned when it came to the coverage of the fashion shows he hosted and lots of people were jealous of the attention he was getting. But apart from designing the dresses(which was the only field of work he was interested), all his work was handled by his sister Ahana who had a lot of interest in this field and often represented Maan in the socialising events. Savithri Devi Khurana was the lead when it came to selecting models who represented PANACHE across the globe but Maan would make a thorough search of the models selected before making them the face of his company. He didnt let anyone tarnish the image of his company which was the dream of his father and his granny. The people who were selected to represent Maan's fashion company were those who really had immense interest in this field but knew how to stay in their limits. Any ruckus behavior would surely mean the end of their dream career because Maan was the one who would do final interview along with his Daadi and all the models would recieve clear cut instructions of how their behavior should be. A toe out of the line and the termination letter would fall in their way making sure that was the end of their journey in the fashion industry altogether. Because of this, nobody dared mess up their images in front of the people.
Fashion company wasnt the only thing that the Khuranas handled. The Banner: Khurana Group of companies also included hotels (KHURANA GROUP OF HOTELS (5 and 7 star hotels that were spread across every nook and corner of the world)), dairy (Cheeeze), stationery (IMAGINE: design your own world with colours), magazine publications (AWE!) textile company that manufactured the best quality of clothing used for the banner of LA BELLA, SYNCHRONI, X PERIENCE, INDULGE, BREEZE, TIARA, PERLA, KIARA, DIVA, DAZZLE(etc etc..this list includes many more!): the very own collection of Maan. The list includes many other brands of Maan and Ahana as well such as: MAGNACIA, ESKAY(that was named after his Daadi: Savithri Khurana, SK) SMRITI(completely Desi: the best sold brand in India and of course across the globe), MOI WISH, LITTLE STARS(Children apparel) SCUDAS, TRENDS, BON JUNOS etc etc...(the list goes endless), sport goods(FIRE), jewellery(KHWAAB) etc etc etc. Maan Khurana was the sole emperor of this 40,000 crore empire and had 75% shares in his name and the rest in Ahana and Daadi's name. Daadi never regretted her decision of making Maan the ruler of her dream empire but she full well knew that her grandson hated being a part of this nasty industry(as he termed it) but she had no other choice. After the demise of her son and daughter in law, who were looking after the Khurana Empire, she had no way out at all. She couldnt stand and see her dream empire, that she had built along with her husband, crashing down in front of her eyes and the first thing she did was name Maan the emperor. Maan had realised his duties towards his family and reluctantly agreed but had never let this lack of interest of his to be a hinderance for the empire's expansion. He had worked really hard and established one of the most powerful and top sector industries of India that was soon making its way in other parts of the world. He became the youngest business man and big Daddy of the fashion world and in no time, became the most desirable man in the world. The world went gaga over his personality, his intense looks and his god damn attitude. He was accredited as the most eligible bachelor of the world and the Dream of every girl. His name always topped the business charts and awards came rolling in his way. Khurana empire was the top industry of India and ruled the charts. Many girls tried to impress him but Maan was after something else that nobody was aware of.
Maan Khurana had the most different personality and everybody(those who were very close to him, to a certain extent even his Daadi) failed to understand him completely. Everybody wondered who would the girl be who had the luck to become his one day but nobody had any idea. Maan knew what kind of a person he wanted to be his life partner and he was in constant search of her but till now that dream girl of his wasnt anywhere near in coming to him. He wasnt the one who would go for looks but he sought for the most different personality a girl could ever have. All the girls he knew nowhere matched the qualities that he had in his mind. They all were extremely girly and would give lots of importance to looks, fame and money but nobody among them had any interest in the other things that Maan thought to be more important in his life. Hmmph...
(enough of description I guess...now lets get back to what Maan is doing)
Clutching a cup of coffee in his hand, Maan was staring out of the window of his suite. He was staying in a luxury suite that was in the 20 floor of the hotel and a had very good view of the surroundings which his photographic eyes didnt fail to appreciate. All this nature's beauty was surely helping him to imagine and design the most beautiful collections ever. Imagination and creativity was of super importance in his life and the magazine publications had helped him discover even more about himself and the beauty of the serene nature. His magazine gave chances to young budding writers and artistes who would mail their works to him and he would publish each and every work even though it was average because he didnt like disappointing any budding, imaginative person. Poetry, paintings, stories, articles, photographs, etc.. were the things he used to sort out in the endless mails he got and very creatively would publish it so as to introduce the world, its new creatives. He loved doing this work and would give majority of attention while editing these articles. The magazine also had interviews of famous artistes as well as a budding person and even printed cookery stuff that would help the chefs become master chefs. In short, this was the most different magazine that covered all the areas but still was very refined in the articles it printed. Interior decor, gardening, architecture, beauty, nature, science,biology were the topics among the other innumerable topics that were printed in the weekly editions of this magazine and this magazine had a corner that was meant solely for children. This magazine was for every age group and obviously, was the most sold and loved magazine of the whole world.
He had to be there for another 2 or 3 days because one of his collections had to be released in a month and he had tremendous amount of work that he had to complete before its show down. Annie had gone back because Daadi would be all alone. He was terribly missing his letters and editorials and this week's edition wasnt upto the standard he had hoped for. Nobody understood what he looked for while editing his magaazine and hence, the edition turned to out to be average even though it rocked the charts. 'Anyway forget it..its already printed and you can do nothing about it..' Maan scolded himself and got back to the work that was pending.

Here Daadi came back home with the girl.
The girl got out of the car and her jaw dropped looking at this palatial, grand mansion in front of her. The mansion was no less than a huge palace and it was certainly extremely beautiful. But one thing that caught her attention was the name of this mansion: PRACHETAS...'how beautiful..' the girl thought. Daadi noticed her staring at the name plate and said' yeh naam hamare pote ne di hai is ghar ke liye...'
'Bohot achcha naam hai Daadi maa...aapki pote bohot creative hai...' said the girl
'woh to hai beta...saaari duniya unke creativity par marte hai...' said Daadi with a small smile.
'Sachchi Daadi maa...maine itna achcha naam kisi ghar ko de hui nahi dekha hai...bohot achcha hai aur iska arth bhi bohot sundar hai...'
'Aap jaante hai iska arth?'
'Haan Daadi...jaanti hoon...Prachetas matlab: Dawn..roshni jo andheri ko mita thi hai...is shabd ko aur bhi gehre arth hai, aapki zindagi ki andheri ko mita kar nayi roshni le aata hai jaise har raat se ladkar sooraj subha lekar aata hai...waise..'
'Haan beta...bilkul sahi kaha aapne...' said Daadi,smiling and thinking this girl is right for Maan in every way.
'Chaliye bete...andhar chaliye...' said Daadi and took her inside the house.
