He did not say she should not have worked and raised her kid right, he said since she has taken the responsibility of being the homemaker and raising kids, imparting the family values is part of raising kids and hence Jigs had larger share of the responsibility in how anu turned out. He did not excuse Aditya, he said, he could understand how anu's behaviours may have escaped his eye due to his business related responsibilities. I agree it is both parents' responsibility and Jai said that first that Jigs and Aditya were too focused on their own problems and fights and hence Anu slipped.
Having been a parent who has struggled with marriage problems and raising kids at the same time as all real people do, believe me, it is SO easy to get carried away with your personal problems and only waking up when the kids start acting out. Jigs unfortunately is not a good parent three kids and the only one who is shaping up normally is the kid Sahil and that too only after he is being influenced by puppylove. Just for the record, a parents job is not to be their kid's friend but being a parent, that laying the boundries and saying NO at appropriate times even at the risk of pissing off your kids.

WHY IS IT ALWAYS BLAMED ON PARENTS? i dont see jigs's fault in this situation at all! did jigs force anu to have sex with someone? did jigs force anu to drink at nights and come home late? yea she might've given anu a lot of "chut" and let her live her own life but was that permission for getting pregnant before marriage? it makes no sense! THE ONLY PERSON TO BE BLAMED IS ANU! as simple as that!

i believe that jigs and anu r equally at fault...if jigs was busy(even if she was doin wrong) it is anu responsibility to be mature and understand a womans honor. she had 2 be resoponsible...as a parent jigs shud have been there for her to teach her what is right and what is wrong.

as a parent, we are responsible for our kids actions, if the value system has been imprinted on the children's mind by parent's talk and behaviour usually children respect it. Today there are more factors influencing the acts and more freedom means more opportunities to try things out, more peer pressure more of a lot of temptation. As adults we are aware of long lasting consequences of these actions but kids are driven by hormones. They can not be held responsible even for the outrageous spending habits. Parents are responsible for the debts created by the kids till they are legally adult. Sorry parents are the responsible party not 100% but definately responsible. I have a 17 yr old at home and I can not imagine letting her go to a party at night and not knowing place or company she is in let alone sleeping fitfully and not knowing my kid is at home safe or not.
