This was THE baby and the way they just disposed of it, it was like it never meant anything. 😭 I mean that baby redefined the course Geet's life! And she lost it falling down some stairs? That just trivialised it so much.

I wish that Maan had mentioned it in his Amritsar reunion letter to give it closure and acknowledge that that grief, and their resulting distance, was part of the reason Geet left the house.

Because it wasn't written I like to imagine a scene happened right after Maan says "main papa banna chahta hoon" on the roof in Amritsar where he tells Geet that why he wants to be a father again: he says the baby taught him love and acceptance because it accepted Maan as its father despite not being his "ansh" and taught him that love can overcome anything. He says he misses baby and even though no baby will ever replace it, he wants to feel that overwhelming love again. Geet looks at Maan, incredulous that any man can be so wonderful and then looks up at the sky and thanks the baby for helping taqdeer unite mummy and papa, thanks it for doing so much for her even in its short life. Maan follows Geet's gaze and says, haan, baby without you your mother would have never known what a brave, strong, intelligent beautiful person she is and then he looks down at Geet and says "thank you. "

Then Geet rests her head on Maan's shoulder and they hold hands and just remember together, ie we get flashbacks of all the happy baby times.

😭

Have you ever considered writing for GEET and replacing that Macchar Pandey? You should try for once. Really loved your explaination. Yes the baby was an integral part of their life. The baby changed everything. I mean if Geet was not pregnant, I doubt she will ever have the courage to stand up against her ruthless and idiotic family. The baby unknowingly gave her courage and Maan too had a part in it. That is why the baby meant so much for Maan, because to him he loves Geet and he will love whoever Geet loves. Thats also the reason why Maan accepted that Geet has forgiven Dev. Coming to Dev, now thats totally another story. When the baby died, what saved that track was basically gurti's acting. Other than that, everything else felt forced. Firstly, they didnt show the guilty trip of Dev at all. It would have been better if they have shown Dev feeling guilty for the loss and trying to make amends for it. To me, he didn't, full stop. Afterall, it is his own flesh, but why could'nt the cvs think of his part? Now that's the flaw. If Dev was shown feeling guilty and truly repenting by leaving them and going away for some soul-searching, viewers would have forgiven Dev. But they didn't do that at all. The cvs only thought about Geet forgiving Dev or Maan accepting Dev. The cvs forget that it was MORE important that the audience forgive and accept Dev.
Oh well, somehow i feel there is no use saying all this as long as the Macchar Pandey is at helm.CryCry

We are all hopeless cases Zaara, that is one thing that is undeniable. 😆
true we all are..😆😆 we cant help it, can we??😉

I get shouted at every day by my mother for watching Geet nowadays (she used to watch it too). She says it is such a waste of time and I should be doing something productive instead of forcefeeding myself cookies and passing snide comments as I do so. And as much as I know deep down that she is right, I keep holding out for that one scene, that one touch, that one dialogue of Maaneet that gives me a whiff of those cupcakes and they give me just enough to keep me coming back with renewed hope.
i get shouted all the times...😆 and yeah i too having that hope. and its because i have trust in gurti.😳

I hope your wish for cupcakes with all the toppings comes true because it would satiate a whole lot of dejected, hopeless cases, including yours truly!
yeah hoping and hoping even though hope is fading i tell myself no its not fading infact its increasing, sothat finally we can have a feast and party. its been long since we had one na?😭

How I would love to write for Geet! I am just waiting for that call from 4Lions. The minute they offer me the job I will abandon my current job and family, get on the first flight to Mumbai, written script in hand! 😆 If they want I will even do it free; they can keep paying MP, if only to shut him up. Writing a story that does justice to Gurti would be enough pay for me. 😍

I totally agree! Gurti's acting was the only saving grace of that track. They were magnificent! But the minute Geet said she forgave Dev it was like someone pressed rewind and erase, and none of his terrible sins ever happened. He was all of a sudden this jolly devar traipsing around KM playing holi. Where was the tortured guilt? Where was his grief for the baby? If anything Geet's forgiveness should have made Dev more guilty, certainly not guilt-free! He could have been a great character if they had maintained the seriousness in the writing.

Oh my god that statement was pure brilliance. 👏
We are not so blind and stupid that we do whatever Maaneet does. We know that they are not real (though sometimes we give convincing evidence otherwise) and that someone is writing their every move. So when we see something inconsistent we are not going to accept it blindly. Yes, Geet and Maan forgave Dev and accepted him. That doesn't mean it's right and as a result the story will never be the same again.
