Hey everyone, there was a mass demand for OS's this weekend following the mindblowing Precap so I thought I would give it a go too. Hope this makes the weekend more bearable. If you want some more reading as well, please try out my FF - Tearing Ouselves Apart : https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/fan-fictions/1844818/ipkknd-ff-tearing-ourselves-apart-parts-1-26

Khushi walked out of the ICU room where her Jiji, Buaji and Amma stood crying. She looked into the circular window through the door as tears fell down her face. She tasted their salinity as they fell past her lips and hurriedly wiped them away, staring at the wetness on her hands "Keep strong Khushi, everyone needs someone to depend on"

Looking back through the window she saw the face of the most important man in her life. She had had her heart broken, torn apart in pieces and ripped out of her chest when her father and mother had left her. She had been a child then, lost and confused. Not even sure what death had meant. She waited for them for weeks, with each passing moment taking another part of her heart till she had almost felt there was nothing left, thats when the truth had dawned on her. They were gone. They were never coming back.

This man had mended her heart, loved her like his own and made life bearable if not happy after she had suffered the biggest lost. And now she was losing him and she knew that if he left, she would lose herself completely and that no one would be able to get her back.

She closed her eyes as the image of him struggling to speak stretched across her mind. Her Babuji, once the strongest and wisest man in the world to her had become crippled. He couldn't even speak.

Khushi felt a weight drop on her heart. He could die, this might be the last time she see's him alive.

The thought was more than she could handle as she ran, ran past the room that held everything that was dear to her, away from them, away from the sadness she was feeling. She couldn't go through that pain all over again. It was all too much.

Arnav walked down the stairs having changed into a light blue sweater. He scanned the hall quickly and was disappointed to find it empty. He had been feeling very strange since the day before and he felt like he needed to speak to someone other than her to get a grip on reality. He was worried about whether she was safe or not but he did not regret leaving her on the street. She was making him feel things he definitely did not want to feel and he felt like two days in the presence of Khushi Kumari Gupta was way more than his emotions could handle. Even so, as soon as he drove away from her, he felt like something was missing.

"Om Prakaash!" he called, receiving no answer.

He took his cell phone out of his pocket and dialled his sisters number.

She picked up after four beeps.

"Chote? Thank goodnesss you called, is Khushi with you?"

Her name, again. This girl was not easy to shake off.

"I'm back home" he said, avoiding her question "Where are you?"

"Chote I am at the temple, I was hoping to pray for Khushi and her family"

Arnav froze, too scared to ask what had happened, hoping his sister would explain further. When she didn't Arnav spoke up "What happened?" his voice shook, whether it was anger at himself or worry for Khushi, he did not know.

"Her father had a severe heart attack, Chote, I heard from Payal ji that he isn't doing well at all"

There was a short pause as Arnav took this all in.

"Is Khushi with you"

"Di, I told you I'm at home" was all he could manage before uttering a hasty goodbye and heading out the door.

The hospital looked deserted, Khushi couldn't tell whether it was because she wasn't paying attention to her surroundings or whether there was actually no one there. She ran as far as she could, crying and breaking down in sobs so that she had to choke for air. Her Babuji! Not her Babuji! Please don't take him away from me, please God, please she thought. She felt weak from last night, and her head was still throbbing but she ran at a quick pace, thinking of nothing but trying to put distance between her and the room behind her. She felt if she ran fast enough, far enough, she would be able to get back to what was normal.

He saw her before she saw him. He couldn't make out her facial expressions because she was running so quickly, a blur of green and purple, but he wouldn't miss her anywhere. He saw recognition flash across her face before she came running in to him, colliding with his chest and holding on to him like he was dear life.

To say that he was surprised would be the understatement of the century. He almost lost thought of where he was and what he was doing as he swayed backwards a little from the force of her coming to a halt. It was the voice of her crying that brought him firmly back on his feet. She was sobbing into his shoulder, still holding him tight.

Arnav more than anything in the world wanted to hold her back, show her that he was there for her, that he would do anything to get rid of those tears, for her happiness, for her. What stopped him was the fear of his own intentions. This was about more than just what he felt for Khushi. A hurricane of emotions sent him back to when his parents had died; Khushi had been through that once. He didn't know if anyone was strong enough to do it twice. He felt the innocent girl crying and shaking in his arms and he felt an instant anger towards God for making her go through something like this. She deserved happiness, not this. Not this despair, this loneliness.

As she gulped taking in another breath of air Arnav lost all control and wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight. She fell against him and they stood like that for what seemed an eternity, with him draining away her sadness, letting her know that he was there, because he cared for her. And he always would.
