When it comes to competitions, slow and steady wins the race but love is no competition. In love stories, the logic is as simple as it gets. The slower you are, the faster you lose.
Same is happening to our 'silent movie era' couple Akash Bitwa and Payaliya.
It's been ages since Akash laid his eyes on his rapunzel Payal. When he stalked Payal all throughout her Chandi Chowk window shopping venture, it seemed Bitwa and his Payaliya would win the 'fastest jodi award' beating Arnie and his Jalebi.
He took it a step further by purchasing his beloved's mann pasand dupatta and keeping it as a memento of their first encounter.
Then Bitwa showed his gracious side by letting go of his object of fixation as a kind gesture towards his future bhabhi cum saali 'Khushiji'. He gave away 'his pyaar ki nishani' as a gift for Khushiji's jiji. In his utter delight, it turned out to be none other than his zulfonwali Payalji.
Akash Bitwa showed some promise when he continued his '1942 - A love Story'by returning her 'accidentally left behind' rumaalat his di's anniversary party and then continuously smiling and stealing glances throughout the evening.
During their next meeting at the Janmashtami Puja Mr. Shy Smile Bitwa praised Miss. Anklet for her mithai making skills.
When his prankster bhabhi cum saali messed with bhai's SUV, He took it to the roadside mechanic in Payaliya's neighborhood to be Edward Cullen.
Once again Bitwa turned Cullen visited Payaliya's neighborhood using work as an excuse and found her buying veggies. He engaged himself in a conversation withPayaliya Bella only to discover she did not have any chutta. The good-hearted bitwa purchased aloo on her behalf and an elated Payaliya invited him in.
Perfect gentleman bitwa excused himself when he found out amma-babuji were out and he chose not be alone with her in the house.
Sound like the boy is super fast eh? No. That's where you misled. Introverted Bitwa can go as far as romancing the dupatta and getting caught by his gestures to his cupid di and 'future evil saas' mother.
He cannot admit his love and cannot even speak up for his Payaliya when needed. He was certainly courageous and chivalrous when he picked up an injured Payaliya but could not give her first aid in front of his ruthless overdressed amma. When Manorama humiliated her and threw her out of the mansion he could not stop a crying and bleeding Payaliya from leaving. He needed intervention from his di with an occasional spine.
If this is the case with shy and spineless Bitwa and his demure and equally spineless Payaliya, what will be the future of their 'silent love story'? What is it with mami's behavior? Why does everyone including Akash put up with her constant belittling of Payal and Khushi?
I can understand that Akash is polite and respects his mom but how could he let a bleeding Payal go?
When his pervert Jijaji's truth is revealed he and his Bella will be smashed by the 'intense multiple love angle' between Arnav-Khushi-Shyam-Anjali-Lavanya. Although La might be out of the equation soon.
Payash were promoted as the parallel leads. But there story slow and now completely bland. We as fans want Arhi to be in focus. But parallel stories are important for the show as well. It helps show in multiple ways.
If we constantly demand 'only arhi scenes' the results can be disastrous. It will take the essence away from the storyline. Not to mention leave Sarun exhausted from the work load. So there should be balance.
