PART 6

'Hasne ki koi zarrorat nahi hai Geet. Yeh sab kuch us Nakul ke waja se hua. Maine Sameera ke taaraf ishara bi kiya ta' Maan groaned pushing his hair back. Geet stopped laughing and smirked and told Maan

'Mr Maan Singh Khurana, itna bara businessman aur ek kaat sahi tara se deliver nahi karsaktey' Geet smiled at him. He looked at her and squinted his eyes and looked at her annoyed.

'kya matab' He asked.

'Matlab yeh, ki ek letter pe kya hota hai, Naam hota hai. Lekin aap ne sirf yeh kaha ke 8 baje yaha aane ki liye baat karni hai bas. Ab main bechara Nakul kaka ya Sameera yaha tak meri kya galti hai' Geet asked innocently.

'yeh kya horaha hai mere saat. Maine Sam ko bulaya ta aur tum pata nahi kaha se aagayi' Maan moaned.

'Phir main yaha kya kar rahi ho. zahir se baat hai mujhe yaha nahi hona chahiye ta Main jarahi ho. Good night' Geet said annoyed.

'Nahi Geet Geet tum roko. Please' Maan asked with a baby face. Geet looked at him in amazement and wondered what was wrong.

'Lekin Maan hum to'' She began when Maan stopped her.

'Geet humari shaadi itni jaldi hogayi. Hum dono ke beech dosti bi ti. Pata nahi kya hua kyun hua. Humne tik tara se baat nahi ki' He motioned her to sit down. He took the chair out to her and let her sit down. He pushed her in and his face was close to hers. Both felt something between them. This unknown feeling.

'Maan' Geet started feeling cold as the windows were opened. Maan saw her rubbing her hands and her hair was flying. Maan started to stare at her looking at her beauty. He saw her lips quivering. He was about to bring his hand out to touch her lips when he stopped.

'yeh main kya karaha ho' He wondered. He went to the window and closed it. Geet smiled at him and said 'thanks'

Both looked at eachother with nothing to say. She looked at Maan and decided to say something when Maan asked

'Geet college kaisa ta?' He asked. Geet then told him all about college and about her friends how Nupur and Mayank always fight and love eachother. How Uday like CJ but cant tell her because he is scared. How Benji and Uday are always making jokes. How Arnav is with basketball. How Sweet Pari is. She then told him how Arnav helped her in the afternoon when a guy tried to misbehave with her. Hearing that someone tried to misbehave with her Maan got angry. He hands were turning into fists. How could they? He took a drink and drank it. He poured out two others.

'aap sharab kyun peh rahe ho'

'meri marzi main kya karu.' He said

'sharab pe ke aap apne hosh ko dengi'

'To kya hua? Mera to hosh ki kaha hai. Geet. Sameera yaha nahi hai tum yaha ho' He saw Geet getting up.

'kaha jarahi ho?'

'pani lene, waise bi, main sharab nahi peti' She said walking.

'ruko yeh meri party hai' He said slightly drunk.

'party' Geet asked looking around. 'Maan party main log hotey hai, music hota hai, khana hota hai'

'Aur main aur tum ho to log bi hai' He smiled goofily. He gets up and stumbles and falls. Geet started to laugh

'isliye logo ko sharab nahi pena chahiye' She laughed. Maan asked her to him up. She helped him up. Maan being so close to Geet was making him lose his senses.

'tum yaha ho yeh meri galti nahi ti, Sameera yaha nahi hai yeh bi meri galti nahi ti. Tumhari saat maine shaadi ki yeh bi meri galti nahi ti' Maan asked in an annoyed state of mind.

'Tej Veerji margaye'

'yeh bi meri'' Maan started replying when he realised when he realised what Geet said.

'Geet I'm Sorry'

'woh muj se door chale gaye yeh app ki galti nahi ti? Ap ki yehi shaarab ke waja se '' Geet said and tears came into her eyes. She stood up and walked to the window. Maan saw her tears and for some reason he could not stand them. He walked up to her and grabbed her waist and pulled her towards him. Her tear clouded eyes looked at him whlist he looked at her. Her one arm was at his chest and he held one behind her back. He then leaned forward and kissed her tears away. Geet was shocked. She felt him lips on her face. He then began to kiss her cheeks, her forehead and chin. He was about to move to her lips when she pushed him away. Maan stumbled back and looked at her. She was shocked her face showed utter horror.

'Geet wo main' Maan started feeling guilty. What had he just done? How could he kiss her? He held her tight by the waist. He had held her arm. Kissed her without her consent.

'Geet I'm Sorr'' Geet put her arm out to stop him. She was weakned by her brothers memory but how dare Maan touch her. 'Bas Mr Khurana, apki himaat kaise hue mujhe choone ki. Main yaha akeli ayi taki hum baat kar sake aur aapne mujhe chua. Mere akelepan ka faida utaya. Maine shayad socha ke aap ek aache insaan ho. lekin aap ne mere faida'.' She had tears on her face with anger. She ran into her room and locked the door.

Maan was shocked. How dare she accuse him of taking her advantage. Yes its true. He kissed her. But he didn't know what happened to him. Why? He got a glass and started to drink and drink. He had enough. He was drunk. He walked towards Geet's room and banged the door furiously. Geet who had finally fallen asleep after crying for what happened downstairs. She had trusted him and was maybe willing to be friends with him. But he had the nerve to touch her. How could she forget he was the killer of her brother. Maan knocked the door and opened it. . Geet shot up awake in bed. She opened the door and She saw Maan's face. He was raging in fury.

'Maan yeh aap' She asked scared seeing him. He came towards the bed and stumbled over her.He pushed her down on the bed and removed the duvet. He held both her hands with one hand above her head and pushed himself over her. He held her mouth with his hand.

'Kya kaha tumne? Ke maine tumhara faida utaya?' He asked in anger. 'main tumhe batata ho ke faida kya hota hai, aur waise bi tum meri patni ho. Itna to haq banta hai mera ke main tumhari saat kuch bi karu' He said as he ripped her sleeve He then trailed his hand down her arm.

'Maan please' She said through her tears. Maan saw her face and felt guilty. He wondered how his anger got the better of him. He got off her and looked at her. Geet grabbed the duvet and covered herself.

'Geet I'm Sorry'

'GET OUT NOW' She screamed. He walked out and went into his room. Geet got up and locked the door. She fell down against the door and cried herself to sleep. Where was life taking her? She had just settled in her new life with college, trying to accept Maan even though she knew he was the reason her brother was dead.

Maan walked into his room angered at himself. If anything Geet had the right to be angry with him. He did ruin her life. He remembered the day he met her a second time.

Flashback

'Geet didi, Geet didi' A young boy ran up to her. He was her neighbour. Suraj and Tani lived on one side whereas these kids lived on the other.

'kya hua Arun' She asked concerned.

'Didi, Vibha nahi mil rahi. Abhi abhi yaha ti' He said. Geet was worried. She knew that Arun, age 8 and Vibha age 4 were kids of a motherless family and there father was always drunk. Geet and often Tani and Suraj looked out for them.

'Vibha' Geet yelled looking for her. Arun went with Tani. They saw Vibha on the middle of the road. Geet saw a truck coming towards Vibha. Maan had arrived to see Tej at his house when he saw Geet running towards the middle of the road to get Vibha. He saw her pick Vibha up and hug her. He saw her give Vibha to Tani. Vibha started crying for her doll in the middle of the road. Geet ran to get it. He saw Geet and He then realised the truck was seconds away. Without thinking he ran and grabbed her arm and pulled her out of harms way.

'Tum paagal hogayi ho?' He yelled at her. 'agar tumhe kuch hojata to' He asked concerned. Geet just stared at him.

'woh doll, Vibha ko bohot pyar hai' Geet mumbled.

'doll to phir bi waapas lasaktey hai lekin tumhari jaan' He said.

'Meri jaan ka kya hai? Maan ji, zindagi ne aap ko bej diya mujhe bachane, matlab meri jaan aaj bi sahi salamat hai aur mera time nahi aya. Aur vaise bi aapne Vibha ka face dekha kitni sad ti doll nahi ta' She smiled at Vibha. Maan just looked at her in astonishment.

He then walked with Geet to her house.

'Waise aap veerji se milne ayi ho na' Geet asked.

'nahi tumse' Maan said without thinking.

'huh hamse kyun' Geet asked. Maan realised what he said.

'Mera matlab hai tumse dosti karni hai na' He smiled.

'to phir hum dost hai na?' Geet asked smiling.

'ha bilkul'

'Geet' A voice said from behind them.

'Veerji' Geet went and hugged him.

'Geet tu andar ja' He said strictly. Geet obeyed and went inside. This was the last time Geet met Maan before, the marriage.

'Mr Khurana, maine apko mana kiya ta Geet se milne ki to phir?' He asked.

'Mr Handa, Geet ki jaan maine bachaye, sirf ek itefaq ta bas' He said.

'Geet ki jaan, kya hua ta Geet ko,' Tej asked concerned.

'woh truck road pe ti aur' Maan explained what happened.

'Thank you, yeh lejiye papers, ab sirf kal jaa ke humhe sign karwana hai' Tej said.

'Tik hai bye'

Tej went in and scolded Geet.

'Tumne ek baar nahi socha ke mera kya hota Geetu' He asked. Geet held her ears and Tej forgave her.

'soja bache' He said stroking her head. Geet went to sleep on his lap. He stroked her hair and said

'Geet tujhe nahi pata, ke tumhari jaan ki kimat kya hai meri liye, tumhe bachana hoga, har mushkil se har saazish se aur har insaan se. Tum nahi jaanti, ek sach. Waqt ani par main tumhe bata donga' Tej thought.

PRESENT

Geet awoke early the next morning. She got changed and went to college. She had not seen Maan but made sure that Nakul sent a lemon water in his room. She hoped to God, Maan didn't remember what happened last night. She had not forgiven him but was not going to let him come near her.

'Geet hi kaise ho' asked Arnav who came up to her.

'Tik ho aur tum?' She asked.

'tik ho, Geet suno kya hum dost nahi ban sak teh' He asked. Geet looked at him and said

'hmm ek shart par' Geet smiled at him. She realised that everyone deserved one chance.

'kya shart' He asked.

'No flirting, sirf dosti aur is media plan par hum dono poori tara se mehnat karengi' She said.

'Aapka hukum sar aakhon par' He replied bowing down. Which made Geet laugh.

'wah kya baat hai' Nupur said as she walked to them with the gang

'kis baat ki hasi horahi hai' asked Mayank.

'kuch nahi bas meri aur Arnav ki beech dosti hogayi' Geet smiled.

'waise Geet main itna bi bura nahi ho. Aasma ke dekhlo. Mere dosto ka kehna hai ke main ek aacha dost ho' He smiled. Geet smiled back

'aacha dost hai' Everyone chimed in and laughed.

'challo class chale, waise bi aaj raksha bandhan hai' Nupur said looking at Uday.

'Nupur tum mujhe aise kyun dekhrahi ho' He asked scared.

'aadha subha betgaya, aur apne abhi tak mera gift nahi diya' Nupur chimed. Uday gulped.

'Sorry Nupur I promise aaj raat main tumhe dedonga' He said. Mayank tied a rakhi on Pari. They all turned to Geet when they saw her walking away. She walked with tears in her ears . The gang ran up to her and saw her tears and asked what happened,

'Geet kya hua' Cj asked.

'Mujhe meri veerji ki yaad agayi, woh ab meri saat nahi hai' Geet said wiping her tears.

'toh kaha hai' asked Uday. Nupur smacked him.

'woh is duniya main nahi hai 2 mahine pehle, accident main' Geet said.

The gang looked at her.

PRECAP: Dil jo bi kahey ab tum bi hum bi.

Mayank and Uday and Benji get Rakhi tied by Geet.

Arnav and Geet meetings. Maan sees Arnav and Geet together.
