Ajay Sinha's gaffe?

Yesterday (Sunday) I saw the episode where Anand reads Sia's letter.

Much has been said about the various new talents, their accents etc. and I have mentioned Sia's non-Brit accented English and her use of chaste Hindi.

The icing was her letter in Hindi to Anand. His books are in English, Sia is a London-bred girl and yet she writes in Hindi! and the word 'crisis' is scripted like a child's (non-running).

Are we supposed to be caught in the emotional flood of the serial and not pay attention to these things? I know it would sound funny to have English accented english spoken in a Hindi serial, and funnier to have the pidgin Hindi spoken, but at least the letter could have been in English.

but for me, the best gaffe is simran's mobile fone - that she has had for more than 18 yrs now!!!! .

of course, I have no doubt in my mind that sinha and the writers and nikki know about this gaffe and they themselves are laughing abbout it - like an "in-joke" - probably nikki's insistance to keep it (wonder if they get paid by sony to use it tho')...but i've always found this funny....😛 😊 😆

You are right vvsrun,I noticed the letter too...just let it pass as one the few minor flaws in the serial.Normally Ajai Sinha takes care of such small details that viewers have high expectations from him.But of late there have been some bloopers.

As far as the accent is concerned,who do they please? Earlier when the first Kiran(Neeru Bawja) spoke with an accent,she was criticised.I thought she was good because she played the role of a NRI from Canada/US and suited the role to a T.

More minds,more opinions! and why not??? That's what makes this forum more interesting.
