Given the film's mega success, it's no surprise that Bollywood picked it up so quickly. In fact, much before the release there was talk that the film was destined to head to Bollywood and thatSalman Khan was eyeing the film. Now, that news is confirmed. Srinu Vaitla, who directed the Telugu version, confirms, "Yes I am directing the Hindi version too, but the lead actor is not yet decided."
However, all leads point to Sallu bhai. Srinu himself reveals, "Salman has not seen the film yet. He is likely to return from the US shortly and we have arranged for a screening for him on October 12 in Mumbai. After that, we will announce all the details."
While "Dookudu" marks Srinu's Bollywood debut, the director is no stranger to the Hindi film industry. "Ready", which he directed in Telugu, was a runaway hit in B-town and that has put the busy director on the Bollywood radar. "I was asked to direct the Hindi remake of "Dhee" starring Sanjay Dutt, but I was busy with South projects then and I couldn't take it up," he reveals.
Meanwhile, speculations are rife that "Dookudu" which was made with a ' 35 crore budget is likely to cross '60 crore in its Bollywood avatar.
