TOI: Life is too short so no regrets

Jassi Kaur talks to Roshni K Olivera about life post-divorce and how she's kicking ass these days

After playing negative roles in your last two serials, you must be glad to be doing CID now?
After playing negative roles with so much grandeur - heavy sarees, jewellery etc - throwing people out of their houses now it was the time to change my image as an actor and what better than to kick some ass on screen! CID actually was offered to me five years ago when I was doing the show K.Street. Being a cop is something that always interested me and now being the cop Kajal I'm thoroughly enjoying myself. The show has also given me a new image with a lot of cute and adorable Kids telling me that they are inspired by me.

You were part of many reality shows two years ago. But one hasn't seen you in one of late...
I was the winner in Ek Se Badkar Ek and the runner-up in Mr and Ms TV as well as Saas Vs Bahu. The reality show scenario for the last couple of years has been looking at not celebrities but fresh talent. At the moment, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa seems to be the only show that would interest me considering its dance format.

You went through a divorce last year. How have you coped with it?
Family, great friends, good work and time have been an overall healer that's helped me to cope with the situation. And all I would say is that life goes on and in my case, for the better.

Are you and your ex-husband Aziz in touch?
Not really, but I do take his calls whenever he does call. And socially, we are on pleasant terms. Life is too short, so no regrets (smiles).

Is there somebody special in your life?
I think we always wait for the special person and miss the right one, so I'm not waiting. But at the same time trying not to miss the right one!

If not an actor, what would you be?
Maybe a creative consultant, a teacher, running a dance institute, an athlete. My friends will kill me for this, but yes a singer! Or maybe I'd be running a small NGO to help people.
