Kareena's Luck(y) By Chance?

This week Bollywood could possibly get another blockbuster in Bodyguard. After all, Eid and Salman Khan work together like magic at the box office. However, amidst all the buzz, there will be one name who will be basking a lot in what is most likely to be reflected glory. And that is the film's heroine – Kareena Kapoor.

One must hand it to Bebo. She is on a high. Her personal life is rocking with her relationship with Saif stronger than ever before. And on the film front, she is one of the few actresses who's working with ALL the three Khans – a great achievement! So it is not surprising if her current image is that of the 'One who has it all'.

But is gorgeous Bebo really Numero Uno? After all, when was the last time she gave a hit on her own steam or even had a great role to speak of? A close look at Kareena's career and life reveals how she has cleverly leveraged her T'town status with smart marketing techniques, neat positioning and diva-esque behaviour. 10. She's Never Carried A Film On Her Shoulders
Kareena's last big hits were 3 Idiots and Golmaal 3. In both films, she had precious little to do. While she did make her presence felt, it was essentially the men, Aamir and Ajay, who did the hard work. Jab We Met was perhaps the only film where she shone in a substantial role and got with commercial success too. In the 40-odd films she has done over the past decade, the blockbuster hits can be counted on the fingers of one hand – Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, 3 Idiots and the Golmaal series. That's about a 10 per cent success rate! Also, in most of these films she was part of an ensemble cast though, to her credit, she has always stood out. Compare that to the hit-flop ratio of a Katrina (whose CV includes 12 super-hits among the 20-odd films she's done) or even Priyanka who has given more solo-heroine hits than Bebo!
YET... In a hit-obsessed industry, she is considered Number One.

9. A Natural Talent, Not A Hard Worker
Nobody can deny that Bebo has a scorching screen presence. But she's done very few roles that have stretched out of her comfort zone. Compare Priyanka's roles in Kaminey, Saat Khoon Maaf or even What's Your Raashee? and you know the difference. The way PC pushes herself to the limit for a performance is well-known. Katrina too always puts in extra efforts for her roles – be it learning the guitar for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan or mastering Hindi for Rajneeti. Kareena fans may rightly argue that she has more natural talent than the others but when was the last time you heard of the star going out of the way to excel in a very different role?
YET... She has positioned herself as the busiest and 'most hardworking' actress in T'town.

but i dunt believe therz such a thing as "undeserving success"...everyone who is successful deserves it...because it dosent come to every lallu panju whos working hard...it comes to very few ppl..and clearly they are doing something right which otherz arent for them to command that position...

But i DISAGREE!!!

JWM was all Kareena. Yup the script was strong and great direction with the brilliant combo of amazing songs and beautiful chemistry between the lead pairs, but the film worked b/c of the character GEET! Sorry to say but no one could have played that role but Kareena. Maybe Anushka b/c she has the right amount of flare but the comedic timing, expressive glances, and that nut-kut-ness (sorry I'm trying to spell the hindi word for spunk and vivacious)😆 were all played to perfection by Kareena!

And Chameli may have been a flop, but the film caught everyone's attention as soon as the audience saw a new avatar of Kareena. That has kareena written all over it! No one even associated Rahul for the film--its always Kareena!

Hard working?! Hell ya! Anyone seen her early films like Yaadein and Prem Ki Deewani...OMG! Way TOO much expressions, OTT acting and crying (I wanted to break my screen in that same in Yaadein where she's crying on the bench, and bang my head against wall in that screen in Prem ki Deewani where she rips off HR's shirt to reveal the Sanjana tattoo😆), and just plain torture.😡 Now she's more natural--that's def hard work my friends. No way there could be that much improvement w/out hard work.

As for Golmaal stuff...AGREE!!! She's wasting her talent on crap like that. She needs to get over her insecurities and realize she CAN have a career w/out the Khans and crap cinema. I hope she does move away from that b/c she's one of 4 current leading actresses that can ACT. (Don't ask me which ones, we ALL know which ones!😉)
