Good Morning/Evening, Salam/Namaste to you all SGPians and visitors. I am here to here to let you know that thanks to SGP and this forum, we, Sheemu and Sheema di met for the 1st time it London. Here's how it happened...

Our 1st chat on the phone.
Wednesday 21st September 2011 Around 13:15 I called Sheema di. We said our usual "salams" & "how are you?"...then we both giggled over our obsession with Ragini. Isn't it silly that we shed a few tears because we both blamed our selves for the ceased account of Ragini? LOL😆 (thank god it's still open). Oh the things we did!!😆 Then we spoke about SGP and how ridiculous we think the others are and that it's shocking to see them garner 4/5 trp's for vulgar and idiotic things they show! It was so nice to know that we both are on the same wavelength about this, thank goodness. Then we spoke about some personal matters and then we arranged to meet in London for the 1st time. In a way it's nice how we never spoke before but we manged to converse so easily. 😊

Saturday 24th September - 10 am Sheema di calls me to say she's coming to London and whether I can still attend, so of course I said, yes.

2:45pm
@ Trafalgar square in central London. It was a beautiful day, with splendid sunshine and a great atmosphere. There I was waiting for di. My phone rings...

Sheema di-"where are you?"
Me- "I'm here where we arranged to meet"

She said she was 9 minutes walk away, I thought yeay, I'll get to see an SGPian for the 1st time!

Then she called again as we both were trying to find one another amongst all the commotion..

Me- "I'm standing by the fountain and I am wearing red"
Sheema di- "but there are lots of people wearing red 😆 can you see the digital clock?
Me- "No" then I looked around "yes now I see it, I'll go and stand near that"
Sheema di -"Okay I'm coming, I'm wearing black!" and I thought "most people here are wearing black too!" 😆

3pm Then out of the busy crowds there comes a lady with open arms and gave me HUG! 🤗

Oh I forgot to mention we were not alone. Sheema di was accompanied by her 2 sons and I had my sister with me. You should hear the lectures we go from the youngsters about "you shouldn't be meeting strangers you've met on the net"😆...it sounds strange for them as children in this country are repeatedly reminded not meet/greet/chat or have anything to do with people they don't know personally. So there they were, , mere teenagers "telling us" "What happens if that person turns out to be something other than what you thought?😆 A valid question indeed!
Sheema di told her boys "you better come with me then for my protection"
I said to my sister "fine, you can come and see for yourself" She's a real person...😆 we laughed and headed for lunch at the Chinese.

Sheema di is so kind she bought us lunch, saying it's her "dawat" this time, next it'll be mine. More than the food I was enjoying the company.

I thought to myself, I cannot believe that I am sitting here eating lunch with a lady I've never met before but at the same time, it felt to nice and so familiar, I guess it's because we have been interacting for the last 15/16 months, we knew each other and the trust is there!

Sheema di and I both love the city of London. It's such an enchanting place! The great architecture, the splendid statues, the wonderful buildings, the stoic sculptures of legends from the political/historic times...the fabulously paved promenades... oh I can go on and on!😊

Now we've eaten our lunch and then we headed for Regents Street (famous shopping street, off of Oxford Street)..I've not been there for a very long time and Sheema di's boys wanted to visit a specific shop which is very exclusive for the youth of today. So I said let's go...we'll find it, somehow 😆 First we went around in circles and chuckled as we were not really paying attention, too busy chatting and almost getting run over by cars! 😆 Then we got on the underground to but we ended up in a place 1.5 miles away from where we were supposed to be!! How did that happen? 😲😆Lol

Then Thanks to the apple product we managed to locate the way we should go...a little later, we thought "is this the right way?" because sometimes even technology can get it wrong! Sheema di asked a lady 1st but she was not helpful unfortunately then I asked someone who looked liked an English fellow until he spoke...

Me - "Excuse me sir, sorry to bother you, could you please tell me which where is Regents Street?"
Foreigner - "Me no speak English" 😲😆
I thought "oh great, you're wearing uniform and collecting dustbins and yet you can't speak English?" (I did not say that to him, just thought it)
Me - "Do you know R-E-G-E-N-T Street?"
Foreigner - "oh, this road, keep going, Regent Street, end"
Thank goodness we were on the right path...of course if it was wrong then it would be all his fault! 😆

After walking for miles and chatting along the way, we got to our destination,😃 HOORAY!BUT of course, the shop had to be right at the end of the street...so keep walking.

By now our lunch had digested fully!😆

We left the shop and now we needed to sit down for a drink! We went into a cafe and again Sheema di very kindly bought us drinks as well. Here we chilled for a little while and spoke about just general things.

You know it's amazing how we rarely spoke about SGP/Ragini...we spoke more about our livelihoods, the children's interests, our personal stories..etc etc. anyways, we quenched our thirsts and visited the lavatory before we make our way back home!

We took the train for one last time together and the next stop Sheema di and her boys departed the tube...felt a little sad but we were smiling as it was a very nice day!

Sheema di a lovely day, very modest and very kind and very giving. The boys and my sister were too shy to say anything to one another (understandable). I asked them "did you think I would look like some kind of " weird /gunda"? 😆They gave a slight chuckle and looked down and said "no"...aww bless them. I guess they were surprised that not ALL people on the net are dangerous! Felt bad as they were bored amongst the ladies chit-chats.😆 My sister was too clueless ..so I'll say no more!

I am grateful to this forum for having to met di here and finally we met face to face. It was a special and memorable day for us both SGPians. Thankyou SGP/IF and thankyou Sheemadi for a lovely day!

Unfortunately I won't allow public display of my picture. It was great , inshaAllah next encounter would be with Keens when she would be here in London.

Arre no no. What I meant by refreshing the page so often was that I was extremely excited to read the baaki ka kahani. 😆

@Sheema Di No way. You almost bought diamonds? 😲😆Sorry that you had to climb 92 stairs. Co incidentally, I had an intense workout the same day you had to walk so much. 😆

Oh yes...the WINDOW shopping! That was great, as we saw some very precious jewellery/watched as we walked along famous streets full of high class shops. Gosh it's so nice to see how some people live in the world and spend thousands of pounds without a second thought!
