I think in the maha episode they always ask Aham to act really in love with Gopi, the same for the one they went shopping for Kokila's saree/jewellery, the heated glances even before the maha episodes before in Kinjal's track, his eyes the heat, and then he becomes cold completely to Gopi like he was after Kinjal told him he had no right and he holds onto the Modi name, so I think they tell him to turn it on during the maha episodes to get people to feel like there are really special episodes.

Or the fight he had with TV company employees cured him of the anger Kinjal raised in him...and he was back to being the Aham that is falling in love with Gopi.
