^ I agree Melz, i guess the number of years does not really reflect the salary, as first of all the producers have to be willing to put that much money on an actor whom they think would be a crowd puller and help them make money! If they can't make up all that money in a movie, them am sure they wouldn't be willing to flock in to any particular actor 😛! No doubt Karthi is in demand, since last year his movie was among the top most gross income movies for tamil films! But over all, I guess the actors are paid a lot.
On the contrary, given that many of the actors who get paid so much only do 1 - 2 films a year, I guess it all works out 🤔, as cinema fans will not want to miss out the movies of well known celebrities. Furthermore, some of them personally do take so much strain (and at times life threatening) to do some of the scenes!
With regard to actresses, its sad that we barely get to see female oriented roles! Instead, cinema industry seems to have a different perspective... they seem to be bringing in new beauties! This is perhaps one of the reasons why an actress' cinema career is shorter than that of an actor's! Their demand goes down after a point of time . So the actresses themselves might just opt to act in whatever roles they think would suit them and go on rather than demanding _____ amount! I really hope this bias diminishes and more important roles are crafted for the actresses.
