'I am getting married next year'

We havent't seen you on [V] of late. What's happening?
I have no time for anything now and my hands are full. I was with [V] for two years and then I realised that there was lots more good work coming my way which I could not resist.
So I thought it was better I ease myself out of the contract with [V] and needless to say my two years with the channel was simply great.

Your personal life is something which is more or less kept under the wraps...
I am a very private person by nature. Yes,I am dating a guy and he is into television production and Insha-alla! I plan to get married next year if everything works out well.

How do you get to be so good with the kids - you were loved tremendously in Shararat and now there is Mum,Tum aur Hum coming up?
Well, honestly, the kids are the best target audience today besides I have got a lot of adulation, respect and love from them for my shows. I love doing family oriented shows where every one can sit and relax and watch the show together.

Tell us something about Mum, Tum aur Hum that you are going to host shortly?
It is about a game show which is played by a team of mothers and their kids. The show has a pull factor which will get all the family members to watch it together especially the kids and their moms. Just like we all like to watch cartoons, I am sure everyone will like to watch this show too. Let's say, it is a reality show or a family show driven by the kids. So reality is the highlight here.

Did you have to rehearse for the show or does hosting the show come naturally to you?
Every show on television has to keep inventing itself mainly to make it look more interesting and this show will also be finding new ways to be different and engrossing. The show will have me talking in a very natural, easy and conversational manner. The rounds of the game show are simple to understand and the script is very light so there is a lot of freedom to say anything I want to without having to rehearse a lot. The first few episodes were very daunting but after the initial few days of shooting the set became home. Now I am having a lot of fun with the kids and their moms. I have done enough of hosting on channel V as well so all this helped.
