Chapter 1: A Serene Intrusion

Kushi stood transfixed near the open windows, watching and admiring the shimmering glow that was being emitted by the moon. She watched the moonlight flow into the massive bedroom and fill the spacious room with its light. Her red sari, the same one that she had worn during the calendar photo shoot clung to her body, further enhancing her curves and figure. Kushi threw back her head in order to fully let the wind's breeze flow over her face and followed it by taking several deep breaths to calm her already racing heart. As serene as the situation may seem, Kushi knew she was anything but calm.

Suddenly a loud and authoritative knock resonated on the door followed by the master bedroom being suddenly jerked open with such force that it literally made Kushi jump with panic. Using all her frustration and anger over the last couple of hours as her motivation, she marched away from the windows to see who the intruder was, since apart from the moonlight which was dancing around in the room, there was no other source of light. Kushi stopped midway and in the pathway of the moonlight once she becomes aware of an outline of someone in the room. She knew who it was; she didn't need any light to identify the mysterious and eerie presence. Her heart speeding up, each and every cell in her body coming to life, every nerve, fiber and senses going on alert were enough signs for her to know who the intruder was; it was her husband, Arnav Singh Raizada.
