I think so too. Someone is Saloni's look alike with some mental problem or cannot have children. Since brijesh and tara cannot have children and same thing happens to Nahar. So they decide for Nahar to remarry and have children.

I think she is the ghost of Nahar's ex-wife.

hey i am not sure. i never read your post . May be you and I think alike. he is not angry at ex wife. I think he is angry at injustice to saloni. Or may be he doesnot like to be in this sitaution. Purani dodi is his escape from the real world problems.

or may be purani dhodhi is his memories of some bad past with somebody and he has his pictures with that person from past in that room and that person used to like white :)

You mean white color clothes. That's why nahar does not want saloni to wear white saree. He snaps the minute he sees her in white saree.
