Chapter 11

Next day, as planned they all went to watch a Hindi movie. Surprisingly, the movie was about none other than Salman Khan! Maan watched with a lot of interest. Obviously he wouldn't want to lose the challenge. The whole next week for him passed like this only. Busy in meetings and whenever he got time, he continued his research. Sometimes, he would get irritated as different sites would give different information and he wouldn't know which to believe in and what not to believe.

Finally at third day, his patience reached its peak and he ordered one of his employees to do all research on Bollywood that he could do and give it to him in next 2 days. It had to be right or else the employee was at the verge of losing his job.

Maan's friends ' Vicky, Sonia, Emma and Dan were shocked to see Maan. It was as if they were seeing him for the first time. They could clearly see the change taking over Maan.

India, next day after party:

Geet went home after staying the night at Pari's house. as she reached the house and went inside, she saw a boy her age, sitting in living room along with Karan.

Karan: 'Here she is. Geet.'

Geet was in good mood so she decided to save her sarcastic comments for later on. 'Yes?'

'This is Raj, nephew of our lawyer. Our lawyer, Mr. Arjun is on leave and he has sent him as it was urgent.'

'He is trustable?' she asked nodding towards Raj.

Karan nodded saying, 'Arjun trusts him very much. So you can as as well.'

'Alright (To Raj) Hello Mr. Raj. Nice meeting you. Shall we?'

'Pleasure's all mine. Surely.'

Geet excused them from Karan saying she'd like to speak in private and thus they moved outside to the lawn area. geet sat down on the bench and asked Raj to sit as well.

Raj: 'So how may I help you?'

Geet explained him what she wanted him to do. Raj listened like a gentlemen and wrote down important points and clauses that Geet wanted to put. Soon enough, they were done. Raj: 'Maam, it will all be done. When do you want to finalize things?'

'As soon as it can be.'

'Tomorrow is public holiday so day after tomorrow?'

'Alright then.'

'You will have to come to the office for some paper signing in front of judge. Bring someone as a witness as well.'

'I can come. But witness...'

'I know. The way you want it, it will be hard to bring someone. Please think over whom you can trust with you life and bring him/her. Without a witness, the process will be incomplete and considered illegal. Since it's a huge thing, neither of us would want to have any problems later on.'

'I understand. I'll bring someone. Thank you very much for your time.'

'It's my duty.' saying so he left leaving Geet alone to think as to whom she can take. She didn't have to think much as she knew she can take either Yash or Pari as she already trusts them more than herself. What she didn't want is both of them getting in any sort of trouble due to this change she was doing.

The next day, after lot of thinking, Geet decided to tell both Yash and Pari what she was to do. She got the same reaction from both. Just like she had thought it would be! She explained them the reason and unwantingly, they had to agree to Geet. She said as a final convincing sentence, 'It's better both of you know the truth then get in trouble later on if neither of you know. Even if one knows and other doesn't then someone can take advantage of the fact. So its for the best that you both know and come. Please? For my sake. For our future.'

They couldn't say no to this. Both agreed and as planned, the other day, all three went and after everything was taken care of, Yash left for his camp. Giving a final hug to Geet he said, 'I'll miss you.'

'I will too Yash. Take care and call whenever you can.'

'Hmm! Bye di.'

'Bye' he left smiling and sad. smiling because he was about to enter new stage of his life and sad because he would be away from his darling elder sister for months. Both, Pari and Geet took care of the flight arrangement. They would have booked seats in plane just like every normal person. But after the change in property, it was NECESSARY for Geet to stay safe at all times. And the biggest thing: Yash had ordered Geet that no matter what, Pari and Geet would have someone watching over them at all times. Mostly Geet as in just a second, she has became a billionaire from nobody. Before, it was a hidden fact that she was the queen of Handa Empire. Now that it's been legally approved, everyone is starting to know about it as information is being leaked from bypassers who saw the transaction take place.

Still wanting to have a normal life like before,Geet knew it would never be the same. Nevertheless, she had taken this step. She knew that with this step, comes lots of responsibility and tons of danger. But nothing could stop her from taking this action anymore. Their date of flight was 4 days after. They chose the date as they needed time to pack and also arrange things in United States. One thing, they could have just made a phone call and everything would have been prepared from them in less than a minute. They were taking things slowly though. People will start questing if a nobody pops out of nowhere and takes the whole world of business in their fist like playing a board game of Monopoly.

Geet also found a good enough apartment for Karan and Priya. Not so big, just the size needed for ordinary two middle aged couple who were almost becoming old. Priya, obviously was jsut as angry as she could get. Alas, she couldn't do anything or say anything to anyone either. She just had to learn to compromise.

A day before they were due to catch their flight:

A week later, both finally got time to come online. It was late in USA while early morning in INDIA.

So, now finally the day arrives. Maan got call from his mom and dad. That day it was Friday. He was home and he was in good mood, to well, keep thinking about the challenge and he just kept saying 'I am going to win Geet. You better be prepared for it'. The employee had given him all he could find in the day's time and Maan had studied it more closely than any of the porject file he had till date. He was more confident then ever in his life.

Just after a while, he got a call. He looked at the screen name which flashed 'Dad' . He thought of cutting it but deciding against it, he picked it up. (Voice of person in other line is not heard. You only hear Maan's replies.)

'Hello'

'Hi dad. I am fine. How are you?'

'And how is mom?'

'I am glad you both are fine.'

'You wanted to talk to me about what mom?' the phone had been transferred to his mom.

'I won't get angry. So just tell me?'

'Mom!!!!!!!!!! Just tell me alright.'

'Mom I know you guys are my parents. What do you won't to say? Just spit it out okay.'

Maan listened for 2 minutes and then he got really angry.

'WHAT!!!!!!!'

'What made you? How can you? At least you should have asked me before deciding it!'

'Yes, you both are my parents. But I won't slaughter myself for sake of your business.'

'NO!!!!!!!!!!! YOU LISTEN TO ME MOTHER. NO PARENT WOULD ASK SOMETHING LIKE THIS FROM THEIR CHILDREN TO DO WHAT BOTH ARE ASKING ME TO DO.'

'NO DAD, I WON'T DO IT AND PLEASE DON'T CALL ME AGAIN IF IT'S REGARDING THIS MATTER. I WONT MARRY A STRANGER FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR MONEY. HOW MUCH MORE DO YOU WANT? HAVEN'T YOU GOT ENOUGH MONEY FOR YOURSELF SINCE YOU DON'T HAVE A SON WHO SPENDS IT!'

'I am your son? That's funny dad. What have done for me that makes you my father? What have you done for me that I would believe you are my father? What have you done for me dad? The only thing I wanted was love and time from you both. But you never gave it to me and you expect me to marry a stranger for your business! What kind of parents would want that for their son? Am I your real son...?'

'I know what you both meant and I don't care anymore okay? So drop it.'

'I have some work. I have to go, bye...'

Maan cut the phone and he was really angry.

It was Saturday so Geet was busy packing as tomorrow she was to leave India. Alteast for 2 months. She was hoping Maan would be online as she smiled and remembered about the challenge. Putting aside the packing, she turned to her laptop and turning it on, signed in into her FB account.

She saw Maan online. But over there, Maan was online but sitting with eyes close as he was trying to calm himself down .

'Alright, get ready to lose' said Geet with a huge grin on her face.

She clicked on his name and when the chat window opened

Geet: 'Hi Maan.'

USA

Maan was hurt and angry at his parents that he completely forgot that he was online and was waiting for Geet to come online. He was sitting in couch with his head in his hands trying to control his anger and stop himself from hurting himself but it was impossible for him to stay calm because the only thing that came to his mind was breaking something.

India

Geet was confused because Maan didn't reply to her. She waited and waited but no reply. Suddenly, she got tensed. She couldn't do anything as there was no buzz option in FB as there is in Yahoo.

USA

Ten minutes passed. Maan still hadn't look up. He was still not aware that Geet was online . After a few minutes Maan lost his control. He was about punch the glass table in front of him. That's when he saw the laptop screen and Geet's chat box open. He stopped. His hand was still in air. He closed his eyes and slowly put his hand down. Taking deep breaths, he ran his hands on his hair and came near to the laptop and begin to write:

Maan wrote: 'Hi Geet.'

Geet was angry but at same time relaxed.

She replied: 'Hi Maan. What the hell? Why did you reply so late?'

Maan: 'I am sorry I...'

Geet wrote: 'Okay. Are you alright?'

Maan was hurt. He felt like opening his heart to Geet.

Maan wrote: 'I am not alright Geet. I am not alright.'

Geet: 'What you mean Maan? What happen to you?'

Maan wrote: 'I don't know why I am in this world.'

Geet wrote: 'Why are you saying this? Tell me, you will feel better.'

Maan: 'Geet, I have parents but I am living like a orphan in this world. All my life, I wanted one thing. That was my parents love, their time. But that was the one thing I never had. I have been growing up like a orphan even though I have a mother and father. And now they want me to marry some stranger because she is going to be a big profit for their business.'

Reading this Geet was shocked. For the first time she realized she was not alone who was having the pain, the same pain, the same loneliness she has. Even her eyes got wet.

Geet wrote: 'I don't know what to say Maan. I understand how you feel. I honestly do. '

Maan wrote: 'No Geet. You don't! I am just so angry at this moment.'

Geet: 'No Maan. I do know how it feels because I am having the same pain.'

Maan got stunned by this. He couldn't understand what she was saying.

Maan: 'What you mean?'

Geet: 'I mean to say that even I am living like a orphan. Even I have parents. They're selfish. They don't care about me. I was very small when my mom and dad got divorced. Mom left me without explaining anything to me. Dad got married again and my step mom, she never ever thought of me as daughter and I never thought her as a mother but her son, my step brother Yash, is the best. I love him a lot.'

Maan read all this and felt so sad for Geet but at same time he was shocked. Because he had never meet any one with the same pain that he had. It was common in USA for children to live without their family and build their own life. But for him, it was not because even if he had never seen India, he was an Indian and he had seen a lot of people who were proud of being Indian and he was Indian. But Geet, who was in India is facing this. Then he was in USA!

Maan: 'I am sorry Geet. I didn't know you felt the same.'

Geet: 'You don't have to say sorry. How would you know and I don't know myself why I told you this because I never ever speak of this but knowing you felt the same, I knew you among others you will understand how I feel.'

Maan: 'Yes I know you feel because my pain is not different from yours.'

Both of them were connecting to each other so nicely that they didn't remember that they were still strangers. Look at life, they were strangers but are sharing things they never shared with anyone. Not even their best friends!

Geet: 'Everyone in this world is born for something. We just need to find that thing which helps us alive.'

Maan wrote: 'And what is my motivation in my life?'

Geet wrote: 'I don't know but you will find out soon. Just like I have. It will at least keep me going for a while. Just have faith because everything has a way to us. Even happiness.'

Maan: 'Thank you Geet!'

Geet: 'For what Maan?'

Maan wrote: 'For telling me all this. Understanding me. I feel really better talking to you.'

Geet wrote smiling: 'Well in that case, I have to thank you too.'

Maan: 'Me? For what?'

Geet wrote: 'I feel the same. I feel good talking to you too. So thank you.'

Maan: 'Your welcome. Its what friends do, I am sure.'

Geet wrote: 'Yes its what friends do but that does not mean you will be escaping the challenge!' she said smirking.

Suddenly Maan remembered the challenge and a big smile came on his face. He wrote: 'I am not running away Geet. MSK always wins but what will I get if I win?'

Geet: 'Well get ready to lose and whatever you say you will get. That is only if you win though.'

Maan wrote: 'Promise? And I definetly will.'

Geet wrote: 'Promise and I never break my promise.'

Maan wrote: 'Okay then. Let's get started.'

'Okay then. I will ask the question and you will have to answer in 5 seconds. No cheating okay?'

Maan: 'Of course I won't cheat. It's not in my nature to cheat. I assure that.'

'Alright then. Here goes my first question: Which movie was Sanjay Dutt's debut movie?'

Maan: 'Rocky.'

Geet wrote: 'Good. Who is Fardeen Khan's father?'

Maan wrote: 'Firoz Khan.'

'Which movie was a super hit in 2009?'

Maan: '3 idiots but I like My name is Khan more.'

'Very good Maan. Okay, In which movie did Shah rukh Khan work with Amithabh Bachhan and was a hit too?'

Maan got confused this time. He knew but forgot about it. He wrote: 'I know this but I forgot the name. Something like happiness?'

Geet: 'Time up. 1 down.'

'What? Oh come on Geet!'

Both of them were actually having fun. (Too bad they didn't get to see each other's faces. Ha ha)

'Ha ha. I am wining now. Tell me, who is the 3rd biggest khan of bollywood.

Maan wrote: 'Salman Khan.'

Geet wrote: 'Nope. Amir Khan.'

'Hey Amir is 2nd Geet!'

'No Salman is the 2 second.'

'No Amir.'

'Salman is'

'Amir is.'

'Salman.'

'Amir.'

'Salman.'

Both of them were were not letting go of their choice and since both were stubborn it was hard for one of them to give up.

Maan: (getting tired) How long will we keep doing this? It will get us no where.'

Geet: 'I guess we'll keep on going till you agree that Amir is.'

Maan: 'Ha ha. You'll be the one giving up first.'

'Definetly not.'

'Geet! I'm getting tired now. It's very late here. But I won't give up.'

'If you are getting tired, then you might as well!'

Maan: 'No ways.'

Geet wrote: 'I don't give up so easily.'

Maan: 'Actually my eyes are giving up easily today. So how about we both win?'

Geet: 'Oh, you're tired? Then i'll agree with you this once and let it go. Not from next time though.' she replied being concerned.

Maan: 'Yea sure. Next time I'll make sure I'm fully prepared and not tired.'

Geet: 'Okay. Go to sleep. Good night. We both win.'

Maan: 'I'll have my revenge some other time.'

Geet: 'Ohhh! I'm so scared! Haha. Good night'

Maan: 'Ha ha. Good day to you.'

Geet: 'Wow, so you finally remember that I am in India.'

Maan: 'Funny!'

Geet: 'Well, get used to saying the same greeting as I say to you.'

Maan: 'Why?'

Geet: 'Oh, I forgot to mention. I am coming to USA for few months.'

Maan: 'Oh! wow. That's great. Which city?'

Geet: 'My friend won't tell. She says it's a surprise. I'll let you know when I myself find out. Good night for now.'

Maan: 'Ok. i'll go but atleast tell, when's the flight?'

Geet: 'Tomorrow. Now GO to sleep!'

Maan: 'Chill! I'm going. Bye.' he logged off laughing. He didn't know why but his heart was beating fast and he was somehoe excited after their chat today. Since past days, he's been staying happy and this hasn't gone unnoticed by Vicky. He's been noticing this change very closely.

He changed in black vest and trousers and went to sleep thinking about the chat he just had.

Geet also laughed and signed out. She herself was quite happy, just like Maan. Geet was in fully great mood the whole day and she dragged Pari to the amusement park with her and they had fun. Later on after having lunch, they went to watch the latest movie in theater and went other places. Finally retiring home after having dinner outside. They had decided to meet near the cafe in the morning and then leave together for the airport.
