I didn't want to comment at all...but would still comment, ESPECIALLY (
and only) on
THIS topic!
Is it wrong to fight social issues or depict social realities? 😲Why do we complain about the degrading standards of Indian television, when we ourselves question the serial if they show some proper real issue?
Do we want our leads to only cry, or do silly things in the name of romance? I'm sure BV can do better than merely looking like a marriage video or honeymoon video!
I am glad that BV is finally showing traces of fulfilling the promise with which it had started.
All issues are inter-linked - be it child marriage, wife-beating, illiteracy or eve-teasing. These issues show how status of women in society is generally low and women are considered weak. Women themselves also keep silent and do nothing. That is why atrocities are increasing.
It's worth applauding that they are concentrating on issues at hand. But at the same time, I agree it is slightly odd that episodes are jumping from one issue to another. They could show it in less haphazard manner. The way they are handling the issues it makes them seem odd.
No worries for those who seek only conventional ''entertainment'' - they are showing romance with other characters and revenge/violence track with some others. I just hope they keep a balance and don't compromise on issues for the sake of routine masala ingredients. [The way they started the dushmani track I hope it doesn't become like NAIDL which ultimately became all about clan wars!]
