Ganesh Chaturti Festival
Today, there has been a concerted attempt to show, Naina being badgered, by Rohini and Sonakshi, into submission, and Naina is shown to be completely losing her self confidence. Added to these two, strange characters, we are shown the Patwardans completely at a loss, unable to utilize their rational powers, and going with the tide, a tsunami let loose by the two manipulators. Among these, only Akruti has been shown to be aware of what is happening around her, and she in turns becomes a bulwark for Naina. Kaka, too has smelt the rat, and suspects Rohini, while her husband just capitulates to her suggestions. After a long time, we see Vedant back in the show, and apparently neither the viewers nor those in the show, seem to have noticed it, and further his part has been reduced to a guest appearance.
Coming to the story, it starts in a room where Ayee is mending some clothes, and a diffident Naina enters gingerly, and takes upon herself all the blame, and Ayee has no time or inclination to listen to her, as she is supposed to be the aggrieved victim, who made a big mistake of believing that Naina could look after the interests of her house. She has decided to mend her ways, and now she has the support of her best two daughters in law, Rohini and the new comer Sonakshi, and the mother is head over heels in her appreciation of the latter. She has two faces, one for Naina, which is a sullen unhappy one, and the smiling face, with her teeth exposed in a broad grin, for the devoted Sonakshi. Naina feels let down, but does not realize that she is in a unhealthy environment, and her only support Daksh too, is trying to make light of the happenings of the previous day.
Naina goes to Akruti and the latter draws her attention to Sonakshi who helped her with her injured right hand, which was in plaster, as well as the other hand, as if she was fine. Naina listens to her intensely and thinks how she had found the syrup, but she seems to have forgotten her plan to take the bottle to the lab, and then what Daksh said about Sonakshi's plaster. In front of Rohini and Sonakshi, Naina is behaving in a peculiar way, as if she has lost all self respect and self confidence
Ayee with the help of her sister in law Shyamal are getting ready for the welcoming of Ganapati statue, and the two rats, are rushing up and down, to help. Whenever Naina comes to volunteer, she is shunned and shunted out, and she withdraws timidly, and the same happens in front of the elder women, who are politely turning down, every effort of Naina to help them, and when Sonakshi comes the mother lights up, with her broad grin and smile and appreciates what she is doing for them. She is better than the outsider. The outsider, quietly walks off, and on the way she meets Daksh, and when she tries to get some support from him, he calms her down, and downplays her fears, and tells her to smile. Naina does not feel at home.
In the hall, great preparations are going on, and Naina trying to be of help, but she feels left out. Even Vedant, who has appeared from nowhere, is shunted out, and given some odd jobs in the courtyard. Poor boy. They have never missed him.
In the pre-cap: Sonakshi is with Ayee, and tells her that Naina is outside speaking to Daksh, and the mother's jaw falls.
