Excuse my lack of globe trotting. But for real? Do they dress up in all that gear n makeup?? How long does it take them to get dressed? And what do they sleep in? And once you marry you start wearing it? And ... U know how they kinda cover there mouths when they talk? Do they really do that.. Even today? And most dramas show the head of the house being the eldest female .. Is that true? Or just true to colors? And where do u live now? Do u wear langas and stuff when Ur at home? Serious questions. Last one .. Do they sleep in make up? :/

LOL...drphill...No I dont wear lehangas at home 😊
Actually I have studied from Rajastahn and my college campus was on Jaipur Kota Highway near a village. Many village people used to work as staff in our campus and hostels.
So I have seen them very closely some of my frns were from tht place.I have even seen bulk child marriages happening during akshaya tritiya...Its so much culturally imbibed in them tht It'll take generations to completely uproot this practice.
No They r not always dressed like BV...but they do wear lehengas more than suits and saaries.
There dressing sense is more like the normal village people. The one who come to Anandi classes and most of the men wear pagadis like makkan kaka 😊
The dont wear tht much jelwelly and makeup like Anandi thts a TV show so its little OTT .
And yes the have tht feet long ghoongats ...I have seen some women with long ghoonghats in cities like Jaipur and udaipur also. They keep it pulled over the face then lift little of it with their hands to look outside.I wonder how they stay like tht all day. Most of the married women keep their head covered like Anandi. Its not just confined to Rajasthan U go to any small town in north India u'll see women with covered head.
U must have seen some rajasthani dancers with lot of bangles on their hands and arms and lot of silver jewellery. Some village people do dress up like tht. They r mostly banjaras(gypsies)
I m not sure about if the head of the family is a women thts probably a colors thing. But yes the oldest women in the houshold is respected and MIL shouting over lazy DIL is pretty common.😊
Overall Rajasthan is a beautiful place If possible do make a visit it.It'll be learning experiance.

interesting comment vrish, just because she dresses a certain way , she is backward in thinking and is still moping for Jagya.

Its a cultural dress. Its what , the people over there wear, just like people in Africa wear a certain type of clothing now just cause it does not suit your thinking does not mean they are anything Less.

People in Norway , ireland and other places wear clothing a certain way. Men from Scotland used to wear skirts , so I am sure they were not all gay cause of that. just because NOW, in today's world wearing women-like clothing is a sign of a person's UN-straight-ness

So if Anandi is wearing Lehenga, (as in tamil nadu the girls from village wear dawani, and from kerala they wear another kind of clothing, not all girls from everywhere in India wear suits,) does not mean she has not come out of her moping jagya mode. .

Yeah, Lets think again, how many times has she mentioned Jagya's name? like few times , we can count that in fingers

Has she thought about him Yeah! cuase its hard to get out of such relationships in a jiffy or even for years ! the scar is always there.

Now how many times have Jagya and Gauri mentioned Anandi?
So what about them?

What she wears is directly related to her marital status - which is why it's indicative of retrograde thinking. I'm not asking her to wear a Western office dress, nor am I expecting her to wear minis. But I do expect her to dress more simply, since she's no longer married. If she wishes, she could even wear a sari, but that ghunghat on her head??? If she's going to wear something like that which screams out her marital status, don't ask 'Why can't I have an identity of my own'. Anandi's problem is not anything else but that hood that she wears, which at this point is uncalled for, since she's no longer Jaggu's wife. If you want to argue that she is, since she's not divorced, go ahead, but that makes the context in which Anandi questions that Godman all the more inane.

All the dresses you mentioned - kilt in Scotland, and other items - are not tied to anybody's marital status. Yeah, if you are a man who wears a pink shirt and white socks, people can be forgiven for questioning your proclivities 😆 By no means do I think Anandi has to wear non-Indian clothes. But I do expect her to stop dressing like a beendni. Or, if she refuses, to stop pretending that she's not one.

You're obsessed about Gaga, when I didn't discuss them @ all, b'cos they were not the ones asking the Godman why can't a woman have an identity of her own. They have their own problems elsewhere, and frankly, I think Jagya is an idiot for deciding first, that he wants to be a doc, and second, he wants his spouse to be one as well, since the very nature of that job, unlike, say a Business Owner's job, is that you have to be available on call everytime you get an emergency call. Yeah, people in other professions too may sometimes attend work @ odd hours, but that's something more voluntary than in the medical field, where it's mandatory. If Jagya wasn't prepared to let his wife break out of their personal engagements, he should not have dated/cheated w/ a girl from that line of work. Nor should he have been in it himself.

If Anandi is so free from Jagya, why's she still w/ his family, instead of hers?? We're supposed to sympathize w/ that overgrown hag who used to torture her during her childhood, but is suddenly a complete saint for Anandi fangals - but honestly, using her as an example of what a woman can do is like saying that Manthara is an example of what a woman can achieve w/o being married. I can easily see the day Jagya will go back grovelling to Anandi, and these CVs, being the retards they are, will happily have Anandi go back into her mahaan mode and forgive him and get back into their marriage, and pick up from there, since a lot of TV writers have fewer qualms being sadistic these days.
