isca you brought up an interesting issue - age factor and relationship.
Be it reality or TV serials, people go by the fact age does not matter. There are many for whom age does matter and you have a wide cross section in society going for both the sides.
But, here, it would have been welcome if you had given a personal opinion tempered with respect to all viewpoints. Everyone lives with the fact that they do understand the world around them better because they are living. And when we say that every person is unique, we have to temper our personal opinions with a tablespoon full of understanding.
The issue here is not age but the feelings generated by the person on screen. Every character brings in its own aura and the aura this said T character has does not match that of the most eligible bachelor in an uniformed service in India. Taking the history of the series and hte said character, a better person who could emote the finer nuances of emotions and understanding is the requirement of the hour. Here, unlike reality ,where families have been broken so two people can come together regardless the age difference is not what we fans want or wish to see either. It is a matter of holding faith in human beings and the various equations that have to be managed as challenges come up. It is a matter of responsible adults behaving true to their characters and not what the TRPs want.
This has been a long post. But, I felt oTT though it is I had to speak my thoughts.
