But that would be gross! Okay child marriage laws have been altered and cm becomes legal once both boy and girl reach legally adult age and it is still not nullified by either partner. But it does not mean that they can justify child marriage as kachchi umar ka pakka rishta!🤢
I still remember how the head of programming (or whatever that position is called!) of Colors was boasting about different and refreshing shows when the channel launched in 2008 and its shows, especially BV overtook all the other shows and attained top slot!
That was the year when shows like BV of Colors and YRKKH of Star Plus were said to have introduced ''freshness'' on TV and were said to be the reason behind the rushed ending of long-running K serials - Kyunki.. and Kahaani.. ended that year only.
Earlier the makers, patrons and promoters of BV used to write/talk about such boastful and self congratulatory stuff in articles and interviews - about being different, addressing real issues, ''entertainment with a purpose'' (wah!), and even journos in certain TV magazines used to praise BV to skies for no swishes or zooms of camera, no tantalising background music, ''authentic'' representation of a culture of Indian state, ''great actors'' and great detailing in dress, diction/speech/dialogues - a ''wonderful change'' from ''tamasha'' of Kekta serials!🤪😲
What happened later?!😲 BV also has tantalising music, swishes, zooms of camera and people being killed or shot but miraculously saved! Little Anandi's ''death'' was so widely publicised and was handled in such an over-dramatic way. OTT drama and typical saas-bahu/sauten stuff has been shown for a whole month or so in June-July! Crazy tausa plotting to kill little Varun, just because he is not their biological grandson!🤢 They have begun to use filmi songs too! And shown full episodes which were just a ''dream'' of a certain character!😡
I can count so many typical OTT and unrealistic, silly melodramatic things which have happened in this serial! 😵
Reincarnation, ''humshakal'' and plastic surgery are the only things which they have not shown yet!😆
I remember a well known TV magazine had written such a mocking article, blasting K-serials when they ended and celebrating BV to heights in the same article as if to compare & contrast. Media also almost seemed to celebrate it! I am not a fan of Ekta Kapoor at all! But the serials were at least not pretentious! She never made claims to educate or inspire or gave out morals or lessons of the day at the end of every episode! At times they did take up issues but they showed them in their own way, without setting out to preach!😕
After the first year or so, it started getting slightly downhill. DS was the only one who was speaking in Rajasthani dialect. Others started using simple, everyday Hindi and even liberally used English words. Post leap actors too have not completely managed to keep the flavour of Rajasthani rural background. Grown up Anandi seems to have been designed to look, sound and feel just like little Anandi. Her speech and mannerisms and her handling by other characters are akin to that of an overgrown kid. They still rely on flashbacks of old Anandi and Jagya!
So? What different or refreshing serial or content is this? What happened to tall claims made 3 years ago? 👎🏼😒
Audience will want JAAN reunion! Not all though, but those who want, they want it simply because they've shown them in such a way, so as to look like a normal couple. The harsh and actual reality of child marriage has just not been shown!!🤢
Not a single child marriage, natha pratha related marriage or be-mel vivah has FAILED in this serial! Just minor hiccups, after that Aal izz well! 🤪Everyone lives happily ever after!🤢
They handled it with kid gloves. Gehna or Sugna became pregnant in one shot! But Anandi never got pregnant despite SR, honeymoon and all of Jagya's horny ''romance'' with her! In reality, women and kids are left out by the man. Women are thrown out by in-laws and at times even rejected by parents - they've nowhere to go!
Jagya was totally ignoring Anandi earlier and was sick of her. But now he's shown continuously thinking about her, expresses respect, admiration and whatnot! Earlier he was sick of home and did not want to think of village or family. Now he thinks of them too! Why are they redeeming him??!!
Why only make Gauri crazy?!🤢
So it means child marriage is actually a good thing and hiccups later arise only due to faulty upbringing and failure to control the boy on parents' part!😡
Doordarshan days were better. At least they knew what they were doing and never played around with serious issues for cheap entertainment. Unlike profit-hungry TV channels of today!
