aaagrhhh... i cannot stand this anymore. After reading the briefs, i did not feel like reading the full update.
I cannot stand Radhika doing such foolish things again... I love the character Radhika, really i do...but even if we love someone we must be brave to say that what that person is doing is wrong.
Yes, (taking the story as it stands), yes Radhika is at fault ... and to a certain extent Dev:
1. The mother of all mistakes: when she decided to step into the Purohit household as Rohan's wife. Totally forgetting at that time that society is watching...society is always around you...society is always waiting to point fingers. So what made her do a foolish thing as posing as Rohan's wife...even if the truth comes (at the time) out doesn't it look bad to have come under false pretenses. She should have been honest with the Purohits and explained what happened - they never completed the pheres and Rohan got incensed when he dragged the truth out of Radhika that she loved someone else. Naturally the Purohits will get angry and will have nothing to do with her...that is only natural but she could have managed to make them see reason and be honest that she wanted to help and ensure Rohan got better etc etc. So to me this was the mother of alll the mistakes that happened thereafter.
2. When she gave up her rights to marry Dev for the sake of the dignity of the Purohits she should have stuck by her guns. Never trust a friend too much, no matter how close. Because sometimes what a friend does with good intentions may turn out all wrong for you... a good lesson to learn for everyone. Always investigate always check. Radhika foolishly trusted Bharka. Did not investigate, did not check how a principle that DDj believed in would be overturned so close to marriage. Why did DDJ not speak to her himself, why did her father not speak to her about it. Trust a friend but nevertheless you must yourself check things out ... no blind faith Radhika. She should hve realised even if DDJ gave permisssion, they were still answerable to society...she failed to question this from DDJ.
3. Having married Dev, to now say that society must not know... HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!! (sorry i just had to say this, it seems so appropriate) where is your head Radhika. Lying to society again... haven't you learnt. Lying to society is one thing...what about God...you married Dev with the holy fire as witness with societ as witness with all of God's blessings... which means what happened (marriage with Dev) is correct and acccepted by God. Now you are going against God's wishes and showing the world another falsehood.. when will you learn TRUTH ALWAYS PREVAILS.
3. Is your plan to show the world that Dev and Bharka are married just to save DDJ's life and then when he recovers and back to fuill health - what then... 2 scenarios can happen:
(a) will Dev and Bharka continue with their pretend marriage? How long will they pretend... forever?ok let's say forever, then can it remain pretend for how long? Does not Dev have the duty to produce heirs... how are your going to circumvent that problem ? or will Dev and Bharka live in sin... have babies which you, I presume you will continue to live in the PH household, will look after - doing your stoic duty in the eyes of society. Since when society become greater than GOD?!!
(b) second scenario : you reveal the truth when DDJ is healthy. Can society accept that - won't there be an uproar. Won't society get angry at being taken for a ride. Won't it still be an embarrassment to the Purohits and to Dev as the RP? Won't Society accuse the Purohits of living a lie and if so can they continue to hold that position...think about it --- A RAJPUROHIT MUST BE ABOVE ALL THINGS INCLUDING FALSEHOODS. A RAJPUROHIT WILL BITE THE BULLET...WILL SWALLOW THE BITTER PILL FOR THE SAKE OF TRUTH.
Oh the stupidity of it all.. one falsehood after another, one evil after another - look at DDJ (breaking his son's marriage for reasons best known to himself), then lookt Badi Ma(trying to usurp the position and the wealth by killing her FIL), then look at Rohan (another killer and abuser with uncontrollabble anger) - IS THAT THE QUALITY OF THE PUROHITS... Dev better abdicate his title and leave the purohits to stew in their own illwill. Take Choti Ma and Radhika with you and life a simple life of Dharma.
Dev - you are also at fault - for failing to stand up to your rights as ahuman being, as a lover and as a husband. It is time you took things in your hands and do the right thing - otherwise you will be no better than DDJ.
