Okay a quick response!! I indeed believe that bani has fallen in love with jai and she keeps telling herself that she doesn't care for him, and it's just a thought of her! When jai told roshni that he'll stay back, bani ko jhatka laga, which she turned around to exchange looks from jai! That's a big give away to jai, that indeed bani you care for him a lot and you were getting jealous! The other time was when she went to the mandir and without realizing, she prayed for jai. Also, she couldn't sleep and kept tossing and turning, thinking about jai, and if he needs anything! So she finally went to check up on him, but it was only to see if jai was sleeping with roshni! What a sigh of relief for her when she found out that jai was sleeping on the couch!! awww ! okay back to your questions!
Questions for the Weekend;
What is your general take on Jai's attitude towards Roshni? He seems to be extremely rude yet caring like a true friend towards her, and yet again shows absolutely no inkling of any romantic feelings towards her, as if they were only good friends but never lovers? Can you guess the true relationship between Jai and Roshni based on Jai's behaviour towards her?
He does care for roshni, but as far as I know, only as a friend! They might have been in love before, but the vibe that I'm getting from Jai is not at all love towards roshni. Sometimes I feel that he might be insecure when roshni is around because for the fact that she and only him knows the past incident. Jai's likeness and anger towards roshni is justified because in a way he does care for her, but then again, she knows something that jai wouldn't want to be out in the open. She might be here to let go off her guilt, but jai is not ready to give in yet.
Bani ended up asking for Jai's happiness from God along with Pia and Rano? Is that indicative of a further rift from her sisters, especially Pia...because Jai and Pia will always be on parallel tracks and Bani would have to ultimately make a choice between choosing her husband's happiness or her sister's?
Yes, I was actually thinking about that. Now that jai has become part of bani's life, she might be making a rift between her and her sisters, but I would actually say that pia needs to think before she passes a judgment. Because bani is jai's wife now, she has become so attached to him, and this might irritate pia because jai will be getting more attention rather herself. Pia might still think that jai still likes her and bani + jai are just putting up an act of liking each other just because of mausi, but that's not true at all. Pia and jai's tracks will never meet, yes she had a chance, but that chance is gone now. Because pia might notice that jai is indeed receiving more attention from bani, then she might ask bani to choose between her and her sisters.
Jai looked guilty and helpless towards Bani as he tells Roshni that he will spend the night in her room. Is Jai's suggestive gesture towards Bani an indication of his growing responsibility as a husband who wants to assure his wife silently that there is nothing going on between me and my ex-girlfriend and don't worry, I am only meant for you?
Well when I saw the episode, I did get the vibe that jai was giving a look of understanding. But moreover, bani was the one showing jealousy, and jai actually saw that. Jai absolutely has feelings for bani, and because of the affection and likeness towards her, he didn't stay in roshni's room and instead slept on the couch. That is a giveaway that jai cares for bani's feeling and he read her eyes, when she turned back to look at him while jai made the suggestion of staying back. I guess now he is too, fulfilling his responsibilities as a husband towards bani, but sometimes to me, it looks like he is doing this out of guiltiness.
Bani's growing feelings of jealousy and possessiveness towards Jai is making her slightly aggressive and bold, atleast with respect to Roshni. Do you think that Jai will notice the difference in Bani's attitude and what do you think he will feel about the same?
Well all that natak they were doing in front of mausi actually is turning into love, we are definitely sure from bani's side. As for bani, I wouldn't say she is aggressive, but more of bold because she is taking a step forward, and I think jai likes that. He feels that because bani's feelings are growing for him, he might not let her go later, and with this fact, he is not hurting bani anymore and is fulfilling some duties towards her. Sometimes I feel that jai might be doing this out of guilt, but most of the time, it is out of love. Jai has already seen the change within bani's attitude, and of course bani has seen change within jai's attitude. This might lead to a step forwards to their relationship.
Guessing by the way Roshni talked about Pushkar to Bani and her subsequent look of fright, does it indicate that Roshni has a fair idea that Bani was once in love with Pushkar and if she does, do you think she will use it to poison Jai's mind against his wife?
No, I don't think roshni has the idea that bani might have liked puskhar once. She just use the fact the puskher can borrow money from bani, and she exaggerated it sarcastically. Her attack wasn't going for pushkar, but bani. In a way, I thought she might want to get back at pushkar for what he did to jai, but moreover, it was her egocentric attitude towards bani and not pushkar and she. If roshni had the idea about bani once being in love with pushkar, she would've already mentioned it to jai.
What do you think will Bani's reaction be if and when Pushkar confronts her regarding her once upon a time feelings for him? Will Bani lie point blank to him refuting everything or will she accept and then plead to Pushkar to forget the past and never bring this up again? Do you feel that somewhere down in her Heart, Bani still holds some embers of emotions for Pushkar or are they completely awashed with Jai's love?
Mostly likely, I think she'll lie about it. For one thing, she doesn't want to ruin so many lives because if she does accept the fact, then it'll bring chaos in four lives. I'm very sure, she doesn't have no more feelings for pushkar, because she pushkar wasn't actually her love, but more of a best friend and someone to lend her a hand. It was merely an infatuation for her, but her true love is of course jai, and the fact is that she is just in denial stage, where she is not willing to admit anything and keeps on reassuring herself that she doesn't care for jai.
With Pushkar growing disillusioned with his marriage to Pia day by day, do you think that the day Pushkar comes to know that Bani had once been in love with him become the last nail on the coffin on his relationship with Pia and deluge him with regret for what he lost out? Or will Pushkar always consider Bani to be his friend and nothing more and continue loving Pia selflessly?
If Pushkar truly loves Pia, then he would certainly not leave her, for she is his wife and his love. If he finds about bani once liked him, then he would have some stressful thoughts. He might realize that the woman bani is the one who actually understood him fully and not pia, but I think he'll find it amusing that bani actually sacrificed her happiness just to keep pia and pushkar happy, and for this, he'll respect her even more, but wouldn't go back to bani of course. As for pia, she might use this as a weapon against bani, and knowing she is materialistic, she might want to go back to jai, thinking that he'll take her back.
Do you think that Bani is too traditional and old-fashioned for her age and takes her role as Jai's wife very seriously? Do you feel that even though Jai and Bani are apart by 17 years in age, they are mentally in the same wavelength...as in Jai is very forward thinking and modern for his age and Bani is quite the orthodox girl for her age and hence they strike a perfect balance as Husband & Wife?
To tell you the truth, one thing I notice between jai and bani is that jai is changing the way bani thinks, and bani is changing the way jai think. Bani now understand that age is not a matter anymore, but it is the love that one should have for the other person. As for jai, he is also started to view things through bani's implications and this is what bringing them close actually. Both of them understand each other so well that there is no space left for arguing with each other. Because bani is a wife, and the younger on in the relationship, she is the one always making compromises and really to think about it, she is far more mature than jai. She was right about jai one time, that he is like a child. It sometimes feels like that she is the old one because of her astuteness.
A long term question for your analysis; Bani has always been a girl who has had an unbelievable capacity for forgiveness and the ability to not hold a grudge against anyone for even a moment, whatever be the cause. My question is, whenever the truth comes out from Jai's closet, do you think that Bani will be able to forgive Jai the way she forgave Pia and Pushkar?
Bani is indeed a character who forgives and forget, and is the devi of forgiveness! She might forgive jai and she might not, because it all depends on how big the secret is. If it is something related to her life and affected her life in a big way, then I have a feeling that she might not forgive this time. Because when comes to think about it, she has been doing this her whole life; just being pushed by everyone else, but if the secret is not an incident of purpose, than she might forgive jai, but looking at Jai, he is really insecure about this secret and he feels really guilty, because even know, he thinks of what happened in the past life, that might be related to bani.
Okay done with your answers Prof. MT!! hope they are fine
Cheers
