A lot has been written about Mohan & Renu in these past few days...i had a different take...& decided to make a post of it...Its not funny...actually...i might even receive a lot of flak for it, but i'm exercising my right of opinion here...& request you to read it before trashing it...
All marriages are unpredictable, arranged or love. When love grows or dies...no one knows...but when u marry, you commit to nurture that love- to at least sow the seeds, water the seedling, provide adequate nourishment to the growing plant. Yes, the plant sometimes withers...but its not necessarily dying...it could just be facing autumn...worse still, the winter...but spring will bring back the leaves, the flowers & the bees. At times the plant just doesnt seem to grow, so what do u do? You dont just pull it out & bin it, you get some extra special fertilisers to facilitate the growth. If after all the efforts it dies, you just let it go...but at least you tried. And that in its own right is the the strength of your character & the biggest lesson for any child who has entered the equation.
Coming to the 2 couples in question...
MohRa...(Mohan +Rama)
Mohan...is gullible...but he is committed. I went back to admiring him after he told Rama to stop interfering in Anant's life as he wants her to concentrate on them...if Rama was a protagonist, we would have cheered just then..you dont really think that your own spouse is malicious till u r left bleedin & instead of a heart you now nurse a hole in your chest.
Rama needs to seize this chance...her sister isnt worth spoiling her own life for. If all this is about insecurities, then Mohan has just taken some major steps toward accepting her the way she is...that should help her get over her own misgivings.
ReTam..(Renu +Gautam)
Renu...i'v read ppl wanting her to raise her kid alone...& ppl do it, but just a word here...its not easy & the worst sufferer is the kid! Yes, Renu has her rights & has been cheated...can definitely spend some time with her parents, heck..she should even go out with friends...but walking permanently out of a marriage with a baby in tow...i wudnt suggest it. I'm not sure, but seems like Gautum has wandered off, is wanting to encapsulate the effervescence of youth...but hasnt really been abusive towards Renu. His reason...he was always Mr. Goody two shoes & didnt enjoy life...doesnt want to repent when its over. That Renu can be part of that, hasnt hit him as yet...Renu needs to shed her seriousness & share the fun!! Gautam is not an evil character...he is just bewildered & lost. Their marriage can be worked upon...yes it needs time & patience. Renu needs support & determination to get her husband in line again...& Gautum needs to think that having a wife & kid can be fun too!! Youth cannot be hung onto...& middle age isnt as bad as its made out to be! He needs to understand women go through Post Natal Depression(PND) & are at their emotional best after having babies. Men generally have no concept of this..but i dont blame them. PND hasnt got its share of limelight admidst masses...even women dont know about it unless they research or read pregnancy magazines.
Anyways...this is a touchy post & i dont expect a lot of response...if u dont agree to it, i acknowledge & appreciate your opinion too...We can agree to disagree...
phew...now i duck under the bed...
