Geet enjoyed her brother's wedding and yet did not. He left without a word and she was left tortured for his presence. He never came back though she hoped he would. The wedding celebrations would go on while Geet was left eying the crowd, hoping to catch atleast a glance, for what she did not know, or would rather not answer her sub-consience.
The wedding went on well and her for once idiotic friends wanted to stay back and enjoy the beauty of nature like they were not in this place for all thier childhood. Meera was particularly insisting that they postpone thier leave and go roaming round the town.
Time and again Geet caught Meera passing speculating looks her way and Geet feared that Meera had caught onto something. The question was, what was Meera suspecting since she herself didn't know what was going on. She only knew that she wanted to go back to delhi. It was like a part of her was left behind in that city.
Somehow she managed to convince her suddenly nature loving friends to go back scaring them with the only name she could think of, Maan SIngh Khurana. That did the trick. Within no time, all thier bags were packed and they were at the door step saying thier goodbyes to the entire family which in itself would take half a day.
Geet's restless heart only settled when they were on the train back to Delhi. She smiled, thinking about the irony of fate. Just a few months ago,the mere thought of leaving her family and going else where would bring tears to her eyes, and now all she could think of, was going back to Delhi. She was a normal human being, and yet she could not fathom this strange thing happening within her. Meera and Pinky joked and laughed all the way, but Geet just leaned against the window, closing her eyes and thinking about him.

The next day Geet dragged both her sleepy friends along with her on pretence of work. As soon as they reached office, Geet just left them and ran up the stairs.
Meera's brains had already begun doing its calculations but everytime she came to a sort of conclusion, the only name that would pop up was Maan SIngh Khurana and she had to discard it. Geet hated that man to the core so how come the man fit into every peice of her missing puzzle? Anyways she would find it out soon enough. Right now she better go and meet Dev. The thought of Dev brought a smile to her face and she decided to wait in his cabin and give him a surprise.

Geet was panting as she reached her cubicle. What was it with her these days? She seemed to be in a running mode. A little more practise would definitely get her into the commonwealths, she joked to herself admist her excitement. It was only 8.30am. Babaji? Why was the time so going so slow? But boy! wasnt she glad to be bck to work. She missed the work atmosphere at the Khurana's and nothing else, she told herself firmly. She started flipping through the files on her desk in an attempt to kill time, but it seemed like time was enjoying her ordeal.
Atlast it was nine and Geet felt a nervous excitement course through her as she anticipated his coming.
It was five minutes past nine. Maybe he was delayed in traffic.
The clock ate up another half an hour. Maybe he had woken up late.
An hour went by. Maybe his car got spoilt.
Half a day had passed. He was not coming, Geet realized, frustrated tears threatened to spill from her eyes.
Just then she was called by his secretary and hope began to light up in her heart. Eagerly she entered his cabin only to find his secretary and her other team members standing there.
"I've been asked to inform you that Sir has invited the entire team to an international business party at the Meredith's this saturday. He would have informed you himself, but since he is out on business and it has further been delayed, he will be returning only this weekend. "
Geet felt numb on hearing this news. One week! she wouldnt be seeing him for another week. The thought itself was becoming unbearable. She ran into the washroom and splashed her face with water, over and over again in order to hide the tears fogging her eyes.
Do hell with his party! Just what did he think of himself? How dare he go abroad and postpone his stay? And was an invite to a party, an international business party, any consolation? Didnt this show that he was not bothered whether she existed or not? Of course he had given her a saree but that was only meant as an apology to cool his guilty heart. If he even cared a bit, he would not disappear into thin air the next moment. Conclusion: Let the rats enjoy his darned party.

Geet was busy rummaging through her wardrobe searching for an appropriate dress to wear. She had already decided what she was wearing, but only trying to deny her heart, in the process ransacking her own wardrobe. Meera and Pinky had given up choosing for her. They simply sat and enjoyed tv with popcorn.
After about three hours of non stop searching, Geet gave up and sat on the bed, exhausted. Slowly she removed the saree from under her pillow and held it to herself in the mirror. The saree was so beautiful that she was getting all jittery at the thought of just wearing it.
Not bad! she examined herself in the mirror. She decided that afterall she was going to the party. Why would she miss a golden opportuninty of getting such a good exposure to the business world? She would attend the party, learn something, enjoy herself and come back. He would be ignored. She would act as if he did not exist. Yes, she would do just that.

The torturous week was spent by Geet saving all the possible pictures of Maan she could get, on her desktop which were very few, considering the fact that he was a very private person. But all the newspaper articles about his link ups were far from few. Every name Geet read associated with Maan would cause a strange pain in her heart. She just closed that page and would browse some other article. To imagine that she had become so jobless would be impossible but then she was doing it for pass time, wasnt she?

Finally saturday arrived and Geet was just sitting and counting the hours in office. She reached home in the afternoon and tried to take a nap, convincing herself that she was not interested in going and was only going as it was a part of her job.
Within five minutes she was in the bathroom. Giving herself a nice wash, she sat in front of the tv and began flicking through the channels. Boring! Absolutely boring! Werent there supposed to be good movies on a saturday afternoon?
Somehow it was evening and Geet went into her room to get ready. She had collected her saree blouse from the tailor on her way home. She had particularly liked the design of a sleeveless blouse with a deep back, and doris just added to the beauty.
As she put on the blouse and skirt, she was back to experiencing that weird excitement. Next she draped the saree around herself, applied her makeup and ironed her long brown hair. The only ornaments she wore were a beautiful pair of dangling diamond earrings while silver bangles tinkled in her hands.
Looking back at the mirror she couldnt help but stare at herself. This saree would make any creature look beautiful, she thought.
She was brushing her hair for one last time when the door bell rang. That must be Yash, she thought. He had insisted that he would pick her up for the party, and since she couldnt refuse, she had agreed.
Yash almost lost his balance when Geet opened the door. Heavenly, was the only way to describe her.
"Geet, we are not going to the party today." Yash stated matter of factly while Geet gave him a confused look.
"It would break my heart to see the other men in the party swooning over you. We are better off in this house. Do you know it is illegal to look so beautiful?" Yash asked her dramatically and Geet just laughed.
"Thank you Yash. Can we make a move? I think we are getting late." Geet smiled at him and Yash led her to his car. Well Yash complimented her. Would he find her looking as pretty? She did not care. She was just going to enjoy the party.
