Guys... Jhalli & Zaleel are two different words with different meanings...
Jhalli is a punjabi word which means stupid or crazy.
Zaleel is an urdu word which means a person without self respect.

rightly said... jhalli means careless, clumsy, thoda crazy, not bothered types... well it cant be explained in english... its a word in hindi which u can only understand by seeing jhalli type ppl...

for example... me myself... im not used to wearing bangles, bindi etc... even on puja and all i forget to wear them...am not so bothered about it... so friends n relatives say... kaisi jhalli hai ... u dont even take care of dressing up when u r attending a puja...

Dont get confused with jhalli and Zaleel

Jhalli doesnt hv a negative connotation... its simply stupid, crazy, clumsy, silly all put together...

while zaleel has a very negative connotation - means someone who has lost respect... means uske liye kisiko respect nahi hai...

maan called Geet jhalli last week but yesterday he called her zaleel... thats someone who is low.. has lost respect for herself in the eyes of others...

I agree...the meaning of Zaleel is completely different & it is a derogatory word... whereas jhalli is a very commonly used for anyone & doesn't have serious connotations.
