Maan from Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi
I am shooting for the show during the day, and after pack-up in the evening, I don't have any major plans. So, while going home, I will check out the remains of the dahi handi celebration, as most would be over by then. At home, we will perform a small puja of Krishna Bhagwaan. My memories of the festival are from my childhood days when my family used to go the temple at midnight. My dad used to sing bhajans, and that would be the highlight. This day is very auspicious to us, since it is the birthday of Lord Krishna, who was born to kill all the evils and to give teachings of dharma and karma to mankind.

I am shooting today. I will later head home for a puja, where I will get to gorge on sweets. There are a lot of memories regarding Janamashtami. I remember, when I used to live in Delhi, we used to go to the temple at midnight, as well as prepare a jhanki of Lord Krishna's birth at home. There used to be competitions in our colony, and the best jhanki would win a prize. I really miss those days, but I also look forward to dahi handis in Mumbai. I have asked my wife to prepare coconut barfis today, which I used to love eating during my childhood.
Sorry if already posted but thought of sharing with u guys, Maan is simply THE BEST, love Dev's views about Janamashtami as well :) HAPPY JANAMASHTAMI to all my FRIENDS(MAANEETIANS/GURTIANS) :)
