Hey dear Janmashtami is celebrated to celebrate the birth of lord Krishna...

people celebrate by fasting & arranging Krishna Janam festivals...gather together and worship lord krishna...the celebration takes place at 0.00 hrs on the Ashtami (8th) of Shravan month (month as per Indian calender) ...

and out here in maharashtra the Krishna birth is followed by Dahi-handi the next day..i.e. today...where boys make pyramids to break mataki's filled with dahi...hanging really high these day😊 it is done coz kid Krishna used to steal makhan (butter) with his gang while he ws in gokul..

right now its all masti-hungama going on outside my house..as kids nearby are celebrating Dahi-handi here...it is a lot of fun😃
