I completely understand your point.
Shyam reacted when he heard Sugna taking Pratap's name - shyam's reaction was natural because sugna had already accepted shyam as her husband and hence it was a bit insensitive on sugna's part to take pratap's name. However, it cannot be denied that Pratap was dead; shyam knew very well how Sugna loved Pratap and still he went ahead; most importantly, Shyam was lauded by Sugna's family.
Shyam was never compared to Pratap by anyone., not even by Sugna.
Gauri's insecurity is understandable - she was not accepted by anyone. And the most important part is that though Jagat claims that he doesn't love Anandi, his actions speak differently and it makes Gauri more insecure.
But our main problem is -
a) Gauri often brings Anandi in their conversation when it is not necessary.
b) Why would Gauri have so low self-esteem that she is hell bent in competing with Anandi ? When Jagat talks about Anandi, her insecurity can be understandable. but Gauri has been shown to be jealous because Anandi is loved by the family - she could not brush it aside thinking that she is not the family's choice.
If Gauri feels that she has not done any wrong in marrying Jagat, then she should have more self-confidence on herself and her decisions.
