Written Update Aug 18, 2011 - Completed

Gulaal looks at Mota Bha while the mean girls look on, with determination she then says that she wants to break this deeyarvattu even today, Kesar looks completely shattered, as if in all this despite everything he wasn't able to get even a little of Gulaal's love, as if he knew this was coming and yet listening to it hurts much more killing all ray of hope. Revji looks confused, Paan Baa relieved, Jamna smirking, Saru unhappy. Its Kesar's turn now. He looks at Gulaal but she cannot meet his eyes, dejected he says he too wants to break the deeyarvattu, Gulaal looks at him shocked. Mota Bha announces that 10 years back Gulaal did deeyarvattu with Kesar, today he announces in front of everyone that this deeyarvattu is finished. Gulaal and Kesar feel the full force of those words and their deeyarvattu bond's breaking.The panchayat leaves, only the family stays. Mota Bha stands up looking at Gulaal, she starts taking steps towards him when Paan Baa comes in the middle and says they need to leave. Gulaal looks on sad, Kesar's eyes are on her feeling her pain from that rejection. Jamna takes Talli away and everyone leaves except Kesar and Gulaal.

Kesar stands behind Gulaal and controlling himself he says that he knew this day would come so he was prepared for it, she should not worry about him, he will take care of himself, all the while Kesar is controlling himself but he is completely broken and shattered. Gulaal looks at him feeling his pain and the full comprehension of her decision. Revji asks Gulaal to come, Kesar says he will himself come to drop off Gulaal.

The family returns home. Sudha comes running with a letter that Ghigha is not in his room and has gone away somewhere. She tells them that she went to get him food when she saw his letter. Raman reads that Ghigha has left the house, after what happened he has no right to live there, because of his sons the family has broken and its eating him inside, as a father he feels at fault, so he is leaving. Jamna is furious and worried and hits Raman in desperation, and weeps. Raman says he will go search for him, Jamna pleads with him to bring Ghigha back and cries bitterly. Mota Bha goes with him.

Poonam cries saying that she thought Gulaal would take the right decision for herself for once. Revji tells her that Gulaal needs their support. Gulaal has tolerated a lot for that family, not anymore, they should let her live her life, nobody there should make her feel that she did something wrong because he promised to support her in all her decisions, and he expects everyone else to keep that in mind, they will have to welcome her happily.

Poonam sees Gulaal enter with Kesar behind and hugs her. Revji asks Kesar to sit, he refuses and says he needs to go, as if he needs to just go to his room and weep his heart out and cannot be there another minute. Reva asks him to have tea, he says he will not be able to stay. Poonam insists, he says that the longer he stays here the harder it will be for him to leave. Clearly he is at breaking point. I can literally feel his heart bursting on the screen. Gulaal keeps glancing at him sensing his deep pain. Poonam agrees but doesn't let him leave without water. She takes Revji aside and leaves Kesar and Gulaal alone.

Gulaal and Kesar together tell each other to take care, Kesar looks at her his eyes brimming with tears but a smile on his face, still smitten, wanting to capture her last glance in his eyes before he leaves forever. They have an eyelock, Gulaal's heart is in her eyes as well, as if she cannot imagine the deep pain of separation she is feeling for him. The word that comes to mind for Gulaal is doe-eyed, her eyes look bigger than ever. Kesar cannot tolerate the pain and leaves, Gulaal follows to the door and looks on as if wanting to stop him, Kesar stops as if he cannot leave but then his tears fall and he covers his eyelids and walks away.

Kesar takes slow steps back and flashbacks to all the good times he had with Gulaal, and then to Gulaal's decision to break the deeyarvattu, as if life has come to a full circle from when it all started and now he doesn't know what to do. He sits outside a temple in tears.

Jamna cries, Raman and Mota Bha sit dejectedly unable to find Ghigha. Raman tells Jamna to take a hold of herself, they will find Ghigha. Raman is either very cold or a really bad actor. Kesar comes home and finds out the Ghigha left the house. Kesar says he will go find him when some men bring him. The men say they found him at the banks of a river, he jumped in the river and a fisherman saved his life. Kesar got a haircut - guess he needed a makeover after the breakup lol. What a scene to introduce the new haircut in. Everyone is shocked and crying. The men tell Mota Bha to take care of Ghigha, on the way Ghigha was mumbling that he doesn't want to live, the dream that Vasant saw for the village was taken away by his son making him a part of that sin. The men leave. The family is getting a full dose of what it would be like had Gulaal said the truth 10 years back, love this story line. Mota Bha takes steps forward towards Ghigha when Jamna stops him and asks him to stay away from Ghigha, she blames Mota Bha for his plight, had he prevented Dushyant from going to prison this day would not have come. Paan Baa yells at Jamna saying that it was Dushyant's fault, both her sons are at fault everyone knows.

Kesar yells for them to stop asking can they not see what they are doing, nobody ever talked like this in the house, can they not see that this house is breaking and the family is separating, is this how families behave. Paan Baa says these people took away her son from her, they took away the happiness of this family, they can never be a part of the family. Jamna says they never considered them a part of the family, all the duties were on her sons' heads but the rights in Paan Baa's sons' hands. Kesar pleads with them to stop saying can they not live like before, Mota Bha says its not possible, that will never happen, the truth has put such a barrier between them that it will be impossible to be like before. Kesar says exactly, Gulaal wanted to save the family exactly from this. Everyone looks at him shocked. Kesar says that had they found out this truth 10 years back, what would have happened to the family, would the family have lived together like this like Vasant wanted, Gulaal was quiet all these years to keep Vasant's dream alive, was that wrong, had she not done that this family would have broken and shattered long back like it is happening now. Everyone is shocked but mixed with tears of realization.
