There have been a few topics on threads comparing anandi's quest for social reform to anna hazareji's quest for social reform.
I personally do not think that there is any comparison at all.
The difference between the two is the difference between motivation and inspiration.
Motivation is a 'push' factor - where the individuals have to be pushed to achieve something.
Inspiration is a 'pull' factor - where the goal itself is so enthralling that the goal itself pulls individuals to its completion and achievement.
Inspiration is something that comes from within. Motivation is external.
Annaji's quest for social reform is inspirational. He leads by example and the clarity of his inner example leads everyone to follow him. He does not go around door to door knocking on it telling people to follow him in his fight against corruption. He is a leader and people follow his light.
Anandi's quest for social reform is motivational. She has to keep pushing against and making a very upstream effort to convince people who dont see the value of the goal nor do they follow her light. Rather at every door, they take a bucket of water and throw it on her candle.
The best social movements are all voluntary and voluntarily combustible. A single spark ignites something within individuals so that they come together.
For anandi to be an inspirational leader - she will have to do something and lead by the strength of her example. She cannot be motivational having to push everyone in the village to do something.
If she is educated and doing something that helps villagers, then automatially, all the kakasas of the village will say "we want our beendhnis to be exactly like anandi".
