The role is cool that of a jolly fellow who makes friends easily. He is a happy go lucky guy and comes out to help his friend Sabina by pretending to be her husband. She doesn't want to cause problems in her ex-boyfriend Vaibhav's married life so she cooks up a hubby. The role was appealing and the show too is powerful. Another interesting tid bit is that the lead is I M Virani while I was a Virani [laughs].
It would work for me as male oriented shows are few and far between. We need good stories and good talent to take the stories forward. If fans see a familiar face on a show, they are more inclined to watch it. There were all these reasons and more that I chose the show and I am happy about my decision.
At times you are free and a good offer comes your way, if I can fit it, I don't mind taking the role up. I don't worry or look at tags like cameo or not. The role gives me a chance to do what I love best- acting, plus it makes me visible on television which is great and of course the time factor too is wonderful as you can fit it in your schedule and not waste your time away. Instead of sitting at home for a one month before your next project begins, why not use the time and do a cameo? Moreover fans too keep asking what are you doing next- so cameos are a great way to be connected with them.
It was fun and interesting. Mostly there are other celebs to interact with on reality shows but this one had regular people so I tried to do my best. People loved and appreciated me. I gave my 100% and did my job. In the end, the channel said they wanted Ram so I stepped out. I was fine with it.
When I was young, I wanted to prove myself and I would take up a lot of work. But now I choose roles that appeal to me in everyway. People know me and expect certain quality from me so I ensure that I give them that. As for playing a lead, I wouldn't go looking for it, but if something cool and interesting came my way, I wouldn't mind.
We are waiting for the rains to end and start our next schedule.
It would be a challenge for sure. The kind of youth oriented shows and exposure to reality tv has changed a lot over the years but if something like that came up- why not? I would be game.
