Chapter 8

When she reached the door she saw Veer sitting in the garden.

She went over to him and said, "What are you doing over here?"

Veer sighed and said, "Nothing much, just thinking."

Sukirti raised her right eye brow and asked, "What?"

Veer finally looked up at her and said, "What do you mean by 'what'?"

Sukirti rolled her eyes and said, "What are you thinking about idiot?"

Veer stood up and said, "First of all, I am not an idiot."

Sukirti crossed her arms across her chest, "Oh really! Sorry I didn't knew that...Oh yeah right forgot you are not an idiot..you are a duffer...Thanks for reminding that to me," she said blinking her eyes and smiling.

Veer getting frustrated said, "There is no point of me to argue with you. Because if I do...than I will have to hear your long bakbak, which right now, I am not in mood to listen to."

Sukirti gasped at him and before she could say anything else...

Veer continued, "And second of all, I was thinking of all the people I know."

Sukirti confusingly asked, "What?"

Veer said disapprovingly, "Again what?"

Sukirti cleared herself, "I mean why are you thinking...?"

Veer interrupted, "Oh, that...to see whom I can trust."

Sukirti making sure that she is following him said, "Sooo...you also know the people on whom you can't trust."

Veer shook his head, "Actually No, I don't..." pausing and then continuing, "except for you."

Sukirti gasped, "Hold on right there...you did not just said that you cannot trust me."

Veer said in a matter of fact tone, "Yes, because you are the only-"

Sukirti interrupted, "That's it I can't believe you'okay, now you see what I do about your fake ' Sapana liking thing," and started walking towards the door.

Veer called out, "Hey! Listen to my whole sentence first."

Sukirti turned, glared back at him and asked, "Why should I?"

Veer: "Cause you are the only one whom I know...who knows about that yaadshakti thing."

Sukirti exclaimed, "What?"

Veer getting more frustrated, "How many times in a day you say 'what'?"

Sukirti shrugged her solders and said, "I don't know."

Veer sighed and said, "Well, as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted...I was thinking of someone to trust on, to remove their yaadshakti and replace it back...specifically of the people who were present when that BIG thing happened."

Sukirti, shrinking it all down, "Ohhh! That...I completely forgot about that thing. Thanks for reminding."

Veer rolling his eyes said, "Your Welcome!"

Sukirti: "So...what you figured out so far?"

Veer thinking seriously said, "Let's see...there were lots people, there should be at least two on whom we can trust."

As soon as he said that they heard something in the play house.

They both looked towards the inside door of the garden.

Sukirti asked with question mark clearly on her face, "Who is in there?"

Veer retorted back angrily, "how am I suppose to know?"

Sukirti replied, "Cause you came here before I did."

Veer: "Well, No one came in after I came...so they might have come before..."

Sukirti sighed and walked towards the play house door and Veer followed her.

She opened the door and stepped inside.

Veer said looking around, "There is no one in here."

Sukirti said, "May be, whoever it is...Is in the other room," saying so she started walking towards the door that leads to the other room.

She pushed open the door slightly without making any noise and to their surprise they saw Armaan and Sapana with their back towards the door. Armaan pulled Sapana closer to him. They were inches away from each other.

Sukirti whispered to Veer, "What's going on over here?"

Veer whispered back, "I have no idea...They both alone...that to so close together..." amusingly he continued, "Hmm sounds interesting to me."

Sukirti with a big smile on her face said, "That's it."

Veer getting the clue, "Yeah...it will work."

After that Veer and Sukirti went back and replaced the event that happened during the lunch time to what really happened.

When they were done and they opened their eye to see...

Armaan and Sapana more closer to each other than before.

And before Armaan and Sapana makes another step

Sukirti cleared her throat, "Khmmm...hmm"

Veer hit her in the back.

Sukirti bit her lower lip, "Sorry..."

Armaan and Sapana left each other and instantly got a bit far and looked towards the door.

"Hi!" Armaan and Sapana said together looking innocent as if they were caught red handed doing something wrong.

Well they were caught doing something but not wrong...

Sukirti said again a little bit louder, "Sorry..."

Veer finished, "We heard something and came to check..."

Sukirti knowing that they individual best buddies might be feeling awkward she said, "I think we should go."

Sapana nodded, "yeah...I think so too," and starts walking towards the door.

Sukirti, "Actually, by 'we' I meant me and Veer," she said pointing towards her and then Veer.

Veer grinned, "Yeah, you guys can carry on..."

Veer and Sukirti took back a step and turned around to go when...

Armaan called out, "Thanks for sharing your very...whatever it is...your secret something."

Veer turning around, "What are you talking about?"

Sapana raised her brows, "Really, you are asking that...?"

Sukirti turning around, "Oh! Your welcome!"

Armaan: "So you don't care that we will tell anyone?"

Veer exclaimed, "No!"

"Because if you do than we will tell about what's going on between two LOVE BUDS in our class." Sukirti said looking at Sapana and blinking innocently.

Sapana not believing her best friend said, "You are not going to do that."

Sukirti said, "Cheez, why are you so...anyways haven't you heard something like this... 'Pyar Kiya to Darna Kya'."

Veer not wanting to left behind, nudged Armaan and said, "And by looking at your expressions I think there is really some chakkar going on over here."

Sukirti said clearing her throat, "Yeah, when I came in I thought you guys were just playing something like 'Prince falling in Love with Princess' even though that game is too young for you 11th graders."

Armaan confused, "Why did you thought that?"

Sukirti replied, "For one main Reason..." Pointing towards Sapana's Head, "You are wearing a tiara...Looks like you found one from the cabinet."

Veer getting back to main topic, "So, you guys are seriously together?"

Armaan replied slowly, "Well, I don't see any point to hide it from you two..any more."

Sukirti with a big smile on her face goes to Sapana and asked, "Sooo, you like Armaan huh?"

Sapana said shaking her head negatively, "No...no... No me gusta el... Me encanta!"

Sukirti cheered, "Ooo...Not bad Miss Sapana!"

Veer spoke up for both him and Armaan, "What did she just answered?"

Sapana made a face, "Do you know Spanish?"

Veer shrugged his solders and said, "Well, yh kinda not much."

Sukirti sighed and said, "Well you should learn a bit more basics atleat...

She just said... 'No...no... I don't like him...

I Love Him."

Hearing this Armaan shied and looked down on the floor while..

Veer too cheered, "Ooo..."

Veer and Sukirti looked at each other. Sukirti nodded and turning to Sapana, "Kay, we will not tell anyone."

Sapana looked at her bestie, "Seriously!"

Veer: "Ofcourse, Only If...you promise to not tell anyone about what you guys know about us."

Armaan not believing his buddy, "No ways...You wont?"

Sapana looking towards Armaan, "Okay we will not tell anyone anything."

Sukirti forwarded her palm face up, "It's a deal than?"

Sapana sealing the deal, "Looks like that to me..." and smiled.

Before turning around and going out...

Sukirti commented, "By the way...You guys look cute together."

Sapana amused, "Really, cause to me...you and Veer look great together too."

Veer and Sukirti both at the same time, "What?"

Veer making himself clear, "Me and her..." making a face, "Ewe...not even in my Dreams."

Sukirti agreed, "Same goes here...me and that to with him, my foot" and stomped her foot on Veer's right foot.

Veer jumped up in pain and yelled, "Ouchhh..."

Sukirti turned around and walked out...Poor Veer- kneeled down whining in pain.

Armaan a bit surprised, "Wow, she really does not like you."

At 6:10pm...

Everyone was at the ticket booth at the main gate of FunTime. They all were excited. Armaan went to buy tickets with Anika, Jia, and two other boys.

All four seemed to forget all that happened at play house. But, I guess we will never forget that part.

Anika, Sapana, Sukirti, Komal and Pretty were talking when...

Aanchal comes up and said, "Guys, we are not here to talk...they have lots of new rides...Lets go check them out. Aarti and Jia joins them.

When they all were going to one of the rides (by all...I mean all the girls...who knows where the boys are).

When they all were walking in through the ride entrance...wind comes up from the back and take Sukirti's dupatta with it.

And yes Of course Sukirti goes behind to get it.

Sapana called out, "Suku, where are you going?"

Sukirti pointing at her dupatta in mid air, "You guys go ahead... I will catch you all up later." And runs behind her dupatta and tries to catch it.

Her dupatta flies along the wind and falls over Veer's face.

Sukirti goes to get it unaware that the person her dupatta has landed on is...Veer.

When she reaches him...

She put her hand on his face and lightly pulls her dupatta down...

First she saw his eyes and than slowly down to his soft and rosy lips. When she looked back up at his eyes...

He was starring at her. Sukirti's hand was halfway down with her dupatta.

Whole world...everyone around her seemed to vanish away. It was just her and Veer. They both were starring right in to each other's eyes.

When a person from behind was walking by and hit their elbow to Sukirti's head, which made the clip fall down revealing her hair open.

As if a bird was set open from a cage...her hair started to gently fly in the wind. But, still they both were completely lost in to each other.

After about five to ten minutes...from somewhere far away..."Sukirti, where are you?"

Hearing her name Sukirti snapped out and came back to real world.

She turned around realizing it is Sapana calling she yelled, "I am here...where are you?"

Trembling nervously she puts the thin scarf in place and walks away from there.

When she was out of sight...

Veer smiled and started to turn around when he saw Sukirti's hair clip on the ground.

He looked back up where he saw her go, bent down, picked up the clip and smilingly walked away in different direction.

So, That was the next update...Sorry for the late update..at first the finals had started and than I was away from home for around 2 months...

Chapter 9

The whole week went by smoothly...filled with fun, teasing and love.

In school...Days were going okay...Everyone was having fun..First two days were spent talking about FunTime. As always you find them all chatting in big groups and teasing boys with some girls name. But those groups were now getting hard for Armaan and Sapana...Poor kids were not at all able to talk with each other freely. Well, Veer and Sukirti did saw them stilling glances and smiling at each other when everyone is busy talking.

With all these fun...not to forget that it is a school. School studying was okay for them. The tournament practices were going on and most of them were missing lots of classes because of those practices. Veer always forget about what he said to Sukirti...But, not to worry when Sukirti is there.

Sukirti knows that he forgot again. So, she keeps bugging him and keeps asking him, "Who is the girl you like. Remember your week is about to get over. And you know what I feel so sorry for that girl that 'you' like her and she will have to deal with you...Poor little girl." Well, now week was over and Veer has still not told her who it is...and Sukirti also has not told anyone...you know what she was going to do if He does not tell her.

At 12:00am of night...

Sukirti was sitting on her study table in her room. She was taking notes from what she missed in school because of the practices. She was so sleepy...but she wanted to finish copying those notes first...so, she could give them back to Karuna tomorrow the first thing in school.

For a second she sat straight to rest. She turned her head to her right to gaze out the window and look at the sky. But, when she tuned...

She jumped up and almost tripped over. To her surprise it was Veer sitting on the window seal. Veer at instant took hold of her before she fell down. He was holding her by her waist and was leaning on her. She was half bent down by her back. She closed her eyes in fear that she was going to fall down. After few moments she opened them to see Veer staring right at her beautiful face. She starred at him for few seconds. Wind was blowing coolly from the window.

To ignore his gaze she looked down, Veer let go of her but not before settling her straight and making sure that she was well balance on her feet

Veer said coolly, "Hi!"

Sukirti coming back to reality as it hit her that it was past 12 of night and it was no one else but Veer who was sitting on her window seal for past who knows how long, "What Hi?"

Veer clearly saw the anger in Sukirti's eyes and ton "Wooaw...Calm Down."

Sukirti sighed, "What are you doing here? That too at 12:00 of night? Hold on...First of all...Why are you here? Now, will you speak up or stay mute?"

Veer spoke after he was sure that he finally got a chance to save himself, "You don't even give me a chance to say anything...Questions on top of Questions..."

Sukirti makes a face and sticks her tongue out at him, which for a split second made Veer smile from inside.

Veer sticking to the topic, "Now, I also have no interest to climb up your window at this late hour of night. It's that; that my pager rang like four times...thus I came by to see if you know anything."

Sukirti blurted, "What?"

Veer rolling his eyes says, "Huh...? Please you need to get over your what's."

Sukirti biting her lip said, "I meant...No, I don't know anything. Infect I didn't heard my pager ring at all...Not even once."

Veer: "Well than I am pretty sure that there is something wrong. Otherwise at this late hour...it has never happened before."

Sukirti making sure that she heard him right asked, "So, are we going right now?"

Veer crossing his hands across his chest said, "Duh...How did you become Rajkumari. Because so far as I know...you have to give lots of tests and swear and promise to do anything in sake of Naaglok before they crown you as Rajkumari...Hold on or did you bribe Naagdev?"

Sukirti pressed her lips into one thin line, "Shut-Up," and thought how dare he even think of me being like that.

Veer makes a face at her which this time made Sukirti smile from inside and in and instant her anger flew away with the chilly wind coming from the window.

Naagdev - is the priest of Naaglok. He is the most important person. He does poojas and different rituals on special occasions. He is the most respected person in Naaglok. If anyone dares to insult him they get a severe punishment. Even Naagrani goes to him for advices and follows his order, since he knows more than anyone about anything in Naaglok. He is the most intelligent and resourceful person.

Naagrani was with Naagdev in the Pooja ghar (prayer house/room). Tension could be clearly seen all over their faces.

Sukirti broke the silence when she realized that neither Naagrani nor Naagdev have notice that she and Veer are present in the room, "Anything wrong?"

Naagrani finally look up and said relaxingly, "Oh thank god you both are here."

Veer wanting to get on the main topic and getting out of their as soon as possible, "Yeah we are, now what is the problem?" But did he know that as much sooner he wants to leave the faith is not going to support him in that wish of his.

Naagrani diverting her attention to Veer, "Well, sorry for calling you this late at night. But, we think that you both are the only person who can help us out."

Sukirti confusingly said, "Since when did the one of the youngest people of the Raj darbar became the last and only source to turn on?"

Ignoring the Rajkumari's question, Naagdev moved both of his hands swiftly from up to down and joined them by making a line in the bottom and pushed it forward. The box formed in midair and Sukirti and Veer saw someone they don't know.

Veer wondering and searching his brains asked, "Who is he?"

Naagdev said in his as usual formal tone, "He is the one who captured them," saying so he points his index finger to the little box and the scene changed to two young teenagers; one being a girl and other being a boy.

Sukirti's eyes getting as wide as they can, she exclaimed, "Sapana!"

Veer not believing that his normal human best friend is in front of him on some magical screen in Naaglok, "Armaan!"

Naagrani's thought being proven correct, "So, you both do know them?"

Veer said in a rhetorical tone, "They are our friends...from school'in Insaanlok."

Sukirti getting her voice back she said, "But, how did they get in Naaglok?"

Naagrani not believing the situation, "Good Question!" and looks at Naagdev to carry on'

Naagdev: "Do they know anything about you two, related to Naaglok?"

Sukirti nods, "Yes, they both are the ones we chose...for the...you know...?"

Naagrani nods finally all the things are starting to make sense, "This is not good Poor Kids are in danger because of us."

Naagdev: "Well, they are under him," and the scene changes again to the previous person.

Sukirti trying to search her brains and registering whether she has seen this particular face before or not, "Do you know who he is?"

Naagrani shook her head negatively, "Sadly, No! We have never seen him in Naaglok before," and makes an disappointing face to herself.

Veer who was quite all this time was starring at the person...

"Because he is not who he is." He finally speaks up.

Sukirti again blurts, "What?"

Veer making sure to not get annoyed by her whats' and sticking to the purpose, "Look closely...He is wearing a skin over his real face."

Sukirti, Naagrani and Naagdev; all three turned towards the screen and peers their eyes into it.

Naagdev finally speaks up after good ten minutes, "You are right, we did not notice that."

Naagrani getting angrier at the situation, "So, it looks like it is going to be harder now..."

Sukirti says in a matter of fact tone, "It is...We don't know who the real person is...So, we can't figure out where to start in first place."

Veer speaks up what none of the four present wants to hear, "Well, there is no option left...But, to search whole Naaglok; which unfortunately is way tooo big!"

The other three looks at him as if they are going to hang him for what he said, but then decided to let him live as whatever he said is nothing else but the truth.

Sukirti and Veer sets out to look for Sapana and Armaan. Both of them standing at the main gate of the palace,

Sukirti turns to Veer for the first time in her life, "Where to start?"

Veer completely taken by surprise and not believing that Sukirti is actually asking him to guide, "I don't know...we can either search in forests or desserts."

Sukirti: "What?"

Veer gritting his teeth together at Sukirti's zillionth times of what, "Hello...where are you? We are in Naaglok...and one side of Naaglok is a dessert while other side is a forest..."

Sukirti biting her lip, "Yeah..right..naaglok.. I don't think Dessert is a nice place to..."

Veer interrupted, "I don't think so either...So let's go for the Forest..."

Saying so both turns towards their right and starts on their way to forest and convince themselves that they have no other option but to spend, god knows how many coming days in the forest with no one else but each other.

Hunt for Sapana and Armaan continues. While Sapana and Armaan have no idea of what part of the world they are in, Veer and Sukirti are the juggling the bitterest moment of their life and handling each other just for the sake of their individual best friends!
