Any kind of EXTREMISM may lead to another extreme disaster and disappointment.🤢
Do we have a new CV now? Please come up with a modern dignified solution and do not spoil the story. You all still have to deal with Anant's family's acceptance😕 How extreme will that go?.
Meeta's character in the beginning looked to be a modern educated traditional mother. A mother who understood her childrens, husband and mother-in-law well and was leading a happy modern-traditional family. The character looked to be a good balance between modernism and traditionalism (an ideal mother).
😲😲Now, I am quite shocked to see the sudden change in her character . When she said to Navya, that she was her best and only friend - what exactly did she mean by that ?????
It looks that the sudden character change makes us as viewers feel very betrayed - Reasons:
1. Meeta, the modern intelligent mother did not even bother to give Navya a PATIENT HEARING. She simply kept on postponing Navya's opportunity to explain her mother about her relation with Anant. This definitely is not a 'Naya Soch' stuff. If parents are so hyper, impatient and judgemental, what would you expect the childrens to be like...
2. As an educated mother, she failed to give her child her respect of privacy and succeeded in humiliating Navya infront of her friends at home and publicly at school. Meeta also did not spare Ritz, Appy, Ranvir and ofcourse Anant. As a role model senior such a behavior is not acceptable - what message is she giving to the next generation??? Should they also treat their parents the same way as the parents treat them?????????
3. So far, I find the way Meeta has dealt with Navya's case as very immatured. I understand that Anant's behaviors were immatured (sending sms at the wrong time... etc), but Meeta's immaturity (in by view) is worse🤢.
4. Meeta is so... annoyed on Navya for having lied to her, but 😡😡now the mother of the house is setting examples by lying to her husband and MIL. ?????????? CVs- PLEASE THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE RIGHT MESSAGE FOR THE SOCIETY. Please wake up!!!!!
5. What has happened to Renuka? she had met Anant and interviewed him - where is her INPUT ? or is she glued to her apartment and unable to visit her mother and sister at this time of crisis. Then why the track on Renuka interviewing Anant and approving ?????????🥱🥱
6. Rama, the negative character is also going to another extremism of being negative/negative. Why does it typically have to be like this -always?????😡😡😡
One EXTREMISM may lead to another EXTREMISM, where things may get so bitter that Navya and Anant may decide to elope and get married - I hope the CVs donot plan to give such a message to the viewers??

Nice post, Shilpa...
Yes, agree ,we all seem unable to fathom what is going on,and hence are feeling ,unsettled ...The message that CVs are trying to send across,is clearly , from the viewpoint of a mother, who is shattered to know about her daughter's hidden truth, her lies and is hence reacting as she did so, today, although, we all feel that ,she should have had an amicable convo with her daughter, before putting forth, her rules and regulations... Yes, her reaction to Anant's behaviour was justified in a way, but certainly, not in manner, as to publicly ridicule and reprimand him...Hopefully, we should be able to see, affirmative results , with the CVs, able to bring about some realistic approach, to the storyline, by this weekend...

First of all take a deep breath and relax. All your points are perfect from your(actually our) POV. But step into Meeta's shoes for once and u'll feel the difference. She's right now not at all ready to stand and judge things. She had to shed the skin of a friend to act in a motherly way. And that's where she failed. So I feel CVs were to some extent right in portraying Meeta as yet another mother and not as Mother India.
And regarding portrayal of WRONG MESSAGE TO THE SOCIETY I don't think it that way. IMO it will help observe that narrow line which separates the right from the wrong

yeah...actually I don't know about mothers but how many kids of todays generation will take such harsh behaviour...is a ❓..but then this is a TV serial where normal things are banned from showing,😆...so by default everyone will behave abnormally 😆
nah...see,the problem is TV viewers are just not a particular kind of audience like movies where we can categorize people as multiplex audience/single theater audience...etc...so my point is...production house will have to keep everybody's interest in mind...rural...small cities...urban ...youngsters...old people...middle aged..to garner some decent TRP's.If they will show that a mother behaves like a friend with her grown up daughter...U and I will like it,but majority of Indian population may say that it is an unethical way of portraying a relationship...sad but the truth is ...CV's are never given a free hand in script writing...they have too many interferences from the channel people, production house etc etc...so serial stories are often too random and baseless..

Nice post Shilpa!👍🏼

I dont agree with you however...Which mum is going to calmly accept her "naive" daughter bringing home a BF?We keep screaming that we want reality but IMO it would've been unreal if meeta calmly sat and listened to navya...her 1st instinct was to protect her baby from the big bad wolf by any means necessary...I'm not saying she's right or rational or logical or mature...but it is undeniably REAL...I'm sure even Indira gandhi was shocked for a moment when rajiv brought home sonia (great...I've offended several communities, religions, politics and countries in a single sentence)

Meeta's 2nd and 3rd instincts will be to deny everything and bury her head in the sand too ...but indoubtably, there'll come a time when she's ready to listen..Maybe once she realises this little "pirabilem" will not just go away by itself/time/distance...navya will be very unhappy and renu might unburden herself too, then maybe , just maybe she might be ready to listen to navya's POV...

i think the nayi soch bit was meeta admitting to navya that she was wrong in hitting her...how many parents have the courage to admit even that???
