I watched some of today's (i.e. Friday's) episode of Ashish Sharma starting to play CGM's role. Frankly, I was disappointed - looked more like I was watching Avdesh Singh Thakur, than Chandragupta Maurya.
But the bigger thing that struck me was that when the history of Alexander's invasion was being narrated, they mentioned that Chanakya was behind the mutiny in Alexander's ranks. This is plain malarkey - Chanakya had nothing to do w/ it, but sychophantic historians who've tried to magnify his role in history have inserted this here, if not the CVs themselves. Alexander's army was largely exhausted having come so far, and many wanted to return. Those who were willing to stay remained w/ Selukus.
This is one reason I generally avoid shows about Chanakya - they tend to exaggerate his role in history as a predecessor to Nicolo Macchiaveli.
