In the morning Gulaal is pouring water in the tulsi (mint) plant but is lost in thought and very sad. She goes inside and is about to enter the temple sadly when Paan Baa stops her way and tells her she has no right anymore, till her deeyarvattu breaks she will tolerate her presence in the house, and Gulaal will not have the standing of a daugh-ter-in-law nor love. Saru overhears her talking about deeyarvattu breaking and is shocked. Paan Baa tells her they hid it from her so as not to hurt her, and then puts all the blame on Gulaal that she was acting as Kesar's wife all along, she must have some intention to marry innocent Kesar, she has used Kesar.
I think Paan Baa never liked Gulaal's decision about the deeyarvattu, nor her decision to break it and marry him to Talli, she kept quiet but now all that resentment is coming out. She herself was married under deeyarvattu so she must have felt that Gulaal's behavior trivializes her own marriage. Talk about passive aggressive. I so wish we had the old Paan Baa back, this one just looks wicked rather than someone who is truly hurt by Gulaal. Saru is very upset and asks Gulaal how could she do this, she trusted her so much, she spent all this time dreaming about Kesar and Gulaal's kid and Gulaal played with her emotions by keeping her in the dark, she has betrayed them in every way. She used to think so highly of her. Not once did she think how much pain Vasant's soul would have from her actions. Hearing this Gulaal is shattered. She tells her that she broke her trust completely. She used to make an example of Gulaal as an ideal daughter-in-law, now she has become an example of betrayal.
I agree with Saru here - Gulaal should have never agreed to this, but its Mota Bha's fault, he directed her to do this. Had Gulaal gone against him with Kesar nobody would have said anything much to Kesar but they would have to Gulaal. However, Saru is also to blame. When Vasant passed away not a single relative came to the family's help, Saru made an excuse that she was too heartbroken, Gulaal took care of everything and now while pointing fingers at her everyone is ready standing there. Gulaal's fault was keeping all this to herself - she should have communicated, but that is her only fault.
Jamna butts in saying that everyone was so enamored with Gulaal, now they have seen her true colors. The reason Dushyant is in prison is Gulaal. Everyone is shocked. Jamna tells them that her son is not after property and money, he was attracted to Gulaal, she with her pretense of innocence got him to fall in love which caused him to kill Vasant, Gulaal has stolen not one but two sons from the family, first Vasant now Dushyant, because of her this family is burning, and she is so shameless that she is entering the temple to light the oil lamp. Paan Baa is shocked saying that why did Gulaal keep the murder from the family, did she have her eyes on Dushyant as well, there are so many charges on her character that one more should not make a difference to Gulaal. Paan Baa, if that were the case she would have done deeyarvattu with Dushyant. Such a bunch of morons. After destroying Gulaal the trio leave and Gulaal is shattered. I don't think the women's saying these things is justified, but Gulaal kept a very big secret from the family, too big a secret, for 10 long years.
Gulaal's father gives Poonam medicines. She asks him why he didn't tell her about the Dushyant situation, had she not called Gulaal's in-laws she would not have found out. He tells her that she is not well. Poonam is shocked at how can Dushyant do this, and Gulaal knew this, why did she keep it to herself, she should have at least told her mother, what if her in-laws misbehave with her now.
He tells her it must have been so difficult for Gulaal, she has always controlled her tears and tried to bring a smile to others' lips, there must be a reason for her silence, she must have spent every single moment with so much difficulty, she was living all these years in this suffocating knowledge. Poonam agrees saying that there must be some reason, but will her in-laws understand, she is very scared for Gulaal and wants to meet her once. He tells her she is not well, he will visit her in the evening, he trusts that they will understand Gulaal's trouble and anyway Mota Bha thinks of her as his daughter and will definitely understand her. I have always maintained that true parents never give in to everything like Mota Bha and Paan Baa, and this show has portrayed that realistically showing how understanding Gulaal's parents are, but honestly Mota Bha has lost his beloved son and its difficult for him to be rational about it.
Gulaal is sitting sadly thinking back to the women's words and cries. Kesar sees her and tries to lighten the situation, he tells her he is hungry and wants food, she looks at him with tears, he holds her hand and takes her. Everyone is sitting for food, Mota Bha asks for Ghigha, they say he is in his room, Saru says he must be so ashamed of Dushyant and cannot even come downstairs. Kesar brings Gulaal there, everyone glares at her, Kesar encourages her to come with him, Gulaal serves Mota Bha but he refuses and pushes away his plate and asks Sudha to bring his food to his room. Gulaal is hurt. The women ask Sudha to bring their food to the kitchen and the mean girls leave. Kesar makes her sit and serves her food insisting that she eat, Gulaal sits hurt and stunned, he feeds her with his own hand and when he goes to feed her Reva pushes away his hand in anger. She yells at him for caring about the person who caused this family to break. Kesar looks at her like he is from a different planet and is totally unable to understand their perspective, how can they not see something that is so obvious to him, as obvious as breathing.
Kesar asks her "you too", Reva says Gulaal got so much love, even Reva didn't get that much love, and look at what she did, she didn't even think about Vasant. She tells Kesar that she doesn't want Kesar's life to get ruined because of Gulaal, Gulaal cries and runs away from there. Reva cries hugging Kesar saying that as young kids they used to die for each other as siblings, how could Dushyant hate Vasant so much that he killed him. Kesar asks her what has Gulaal done, why is she punishing her when she hasn't done anything, she knows Gulaal so well, how can she not understand whatever she did was for the family's good. Reva tells him that nobody can ever forgive Dushyant for what he did to Vasant, how could Gulaal support her own husband's killer all these years. Kesar's expression is like so you know how difficult it was for her and yet she did it only for the family. Reva tells him she doesn't understand. He tells her then don't understand, everyone is thinking from their perspective, have any of them tried to understand Gulaal's perspective and what she is going through, everyone is taking out their anger on her because she is listening to them silently, no matter what he has complete trust in her whether others have or not. Whatever she did her intention was not wrong, and never will be wrong.
