The main girl and guy casting is annoying, it's always an Indian Woman and White Man, or an Indian Man and A White Woman in these crossover movies. Seriously it is so hard to get a male and female Indian lead?
Story is cliche, going to have a little melodrama with the family and girlfriend, some cringe worthy scenes for sure.
Drake sucks, sings out his nose, someone get this dude some nasal spray.
If you want to see a well done Hollywood movie with a Punjabi character as the main lead watch Ocean Of Pearls, all these other movies are too gay, there's no other way I can descibe it. The only one I found good at the time when it came out was American Desi, I bet even that one will be vomit inducing if I watched it again after all these years.
Stil a lot of people mainly Punjabi will watch this movie, these kind of movies don't come around that much. It's like a english Disney movie for the Punjabi community, everything is neatly tied at the end, no one gets hurt, the bad guy gets his, you know the drill.
The problem is, budget $56 Million? If this is true then prepare for a loss because in order to make that kind of money you need to pull in a large Indian audience, and a large non-indian audience. This movie doesn't have the appeal to do that, select theatres here and there will probably play it, I doubt it will get a wide release, and the Indian community will pirate the shit out of this movie so they better just be doing this as a fun project, not a business venture.
