Part 1:
"Pari!" someone yelled from the kitchen.
"Aa rahi hoon!" a melodious voice yelled back.
"Jaldi aaja varna it'll be too late!" again the voice urged.
The skirt was lifted a few inches above the ankles revealing her delicately shaped feet adorned by a beautiful set of silver payals. The tinkling sound of the anklets along contrasted the soft footsteps on the cold stone floor. The long lehgha that was tightly clutched by her slender fingers swished back and forth due to the wind as she hurriedly ran through corridor. Her thick black her was let loose, revealing her long tresses that reached below her petite waist. A sweet smile played on her luscious lips as she ran down the long corridor that led to patio and into the kitchen. And her khol-adorned eyes contained a mysterious twinkle, enhancing her already flawless angelic face. She finally reached the kitchen, panting for breath. She pat her heaving chest before catching a few breaths and smiled and walked towards another woman who faced her back to her.
"Hi sexy," she said hugging her from behind and kissed her cheeks and took a carrot from the tray over her shoulder.
"Arre badmash," the lady clad in neat saree said, her pallu neatly placed on her head. "Maine tumhe isi liye nahi pukara," she feigned anger, pointing to the other girl happily nibbling the carrot.
"Toh kahiye na Anagha bhabhi kyun aapne pukara," she said chirpily before sitting on the counter top. Anagha picked up the cut vegetables and walked to the stovetop.
"Pari, tumne kaha na tum voh kya hota hai, pineapple rush," Anagha said hesitantly.
"Uff ho babhi pineapple crush, crush," Pari said stressing on the last word.
"Haan, job hi ho, is that ready?" Anagha asked worriedly.
Suddenly Pari's eyes widened in shock. She slapped her head in frustration, "Hai Babaji! Main toh bhool hi gayi," she said almost ready to cry.
"Pagli, abhi tum already late ho gayi. Sab log aate hi honge," Anagha said shaking her head.
"Sorry babhi, ugh itni saare preparations mein I totally forgot," Pari said pacing back and forth.
"Main toh banva deti magar tum toh specialist ho, aur tumhari haathon se banva hui sweet hi sab log pasand karte hai," Anagha said but corrected herself. "Sab log ko mujhe pata nahi magar there is a particular someone who cannot resist your sweet," she teased, nudging her by her shoulder.
A small smile crept on her lips but she soon straightened herself, "Voh sab bahana tha babhi, simply to make me work," she pouted cutely.
"Acchaji?" Anagha feigned surprise, "isiliye toh voh bandha kisi ko bhi nahi deke sab kuch kha liya karta tha?"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Pari brushed away while trying to rummage the cabinets for the necessary things. "Where are the crushed pineapple cans bhabhi?" she asked looking through the kitchen cabinet.
"Vahi, on the right," Anagha said cleaning the rice.
"Yahaan nahi hai," she said getting panicky.
Anagha came over behind her, "Vahaan hi hai, Pari tumhari aankhen teekh toh hai na?" Anagha asked slightly hitting her head.
"Arre haan," Pari said picking out the can and looking at it but suddenly her expression turned into shock, "bhabhi this is just slices, mujhe crushed one chahiye!"
"Mujhe kya pata tha, you said pineapple in syrup, I just told Ramu kaka to get it."
"Babaji!" Geet said with exasperation. "Ab mein kya karoon?" she asked looking up as though she find an answer.
"Tu fikar mat kar, why don't you just beat it in the food processor?" Anagha said eagerly.
"Haan, magar no time," she said with disappointment.
"Mein crush kardoongi, by that time get other things ready," Anagha suggested.
"Bhabhi you are the best," she said hugging her tightly. She went to find condensed milk and whip cream. But soon she was shocked to find Ramu kaka had messed up the condensed milk to evaporated milk. That would just crash the recipe for it would make it too watery and moreover she would have to add sugar, to which measurement she was unsure of. "Babaji, why are you so intent on testing me today," she said with a huff. By the time she got back Anagha had the pineapples crushed and ready but since the evaporated milk was going to be used, Pari had to squeeze all the pineapple from the syrup. She became so engrossed in her work that she failed to see that it was almost time for them to arrive.
"Geet, tu ready hai kya?" she heard her mother call from the hall. That's when she looked up to find that she still had to mix all the ingredients. She was in the middle of pineapple juice all over her arms, powdered sugar over her face, and looked all messy.
Geet looked up to see the time, "Hayo rabba!" she exclaimed hurrying to mix everything and closing down the vessel before placing it in the refrigerator. She let out a big sigh and straightened her messy dress before heading upstairs to freshen up and change into better clothes, appropriate for the occasion.
Just as she was passing through the kitchen she heard the faint screeching noises of the cars outside her haveli. The Handa haveli that was located in the midst of a beautiful natural setting. It overlooked a small yet magnificent waterfall that was in fact located a little further down near the haveli. This palatial mansion that was built by the Mewar kings ages ago still retained its royal and elegant look. The Handas who had come to expand their business, took to the natural beauty and decided to settle down here permanently. The walls of the haveli and the regal look of the whole place made one feel grand as they walked into it.
Geet ran through the stone corridor that led to balcony to get a glimpse of their arrival. A series of people got out from various cars but her eyes endlessly searched for the one person, Thakur Maan Singh Khurana, her buddhu buddy, as she always liked to call.
Geet's thoughts went reeling into the past. Her siblings including, Dia, Tej, and Naina had always grown up with Prem and Maan. Since the time when she knew how to crawl, Maan had always been with her. According to her, growing up together had a lot of advantages. Maan and her shared the littlest of their secrets along with their fears and joys. He had helped her and guided her whenever she was stuck with anything. While she was wild tomboy, he was a bookworm, who preferred to spend all his time in the library. Strangely he was the angry bookworm who hated to be disturbed or bothered while he was in the library. The only person allowed to visit him was Geet. But she knew it better it was not wise to visit him there for he never listened to her when he was engrossed in a book. She always teased him as buddhu for even though genius in studies he had always failed to understand emotions or relations while secretly hoping otherwise.
Geet scanned through the crowd again but failed to catch a glimpse of him. Everyone from her family greeted the Khuranas and hugged them and welcomed them into the house. She sighed in reluctance and turned around to walk in disappointment. She went to change her clothes into a simple yet elegant red anarkali and loosely braided her hair before applying a dash of lip-gloss and khol to her eyes. She walked through her room that was adorned with splendor dcor and out to the corridor that led to the staircase. She descended the steps slowly when she heard someone call excitedly for her.
"Geeto!" a woman clad in bluish green Patiala suite called excitedly.
"Dia di!" Geet exclaimed in excitement and ran the remaining steps and jumped onto the other woman, hugging her tightly.
"Arre dheere se," Dia said staggering to balance, "you may hurt your champ who is inside."
"Dia, it's my princess," someone corrected from behind.
"Uff ho ji, it's a boy, I know," Dia said slapping her forehead.
"Nahi Dia, it's a girl, daddy's girl," the man said side-hugging Dia proudly.
"Oh em gee!" Geet sighed, "phirse vahi purani jhagda? Come on guys say something new. Why should a mother always want a male child and a father always a female? Jazz it up guys! DD tum bhagwan se ladki mango aur Prem Jijaji ek maango."
"Geeto, jab tum maa banogi na tumhe pata chalega," Dia said.
"Haan Pari, jab tum maa banogi," the man beside Dia winked.
"Jiju, hai, hai, mujhe sharam aavein hain," Geet chirped, feigning to close her face in embarrassment.
"Arey saaliji, aapko yuhin dekhna kitna accha lagta hai," Prem teased.
"Prem voh abhi sirf aapki saali nahi hai, voh," Dia began to be cut off by another voice from behind.
"Janam dehklo mit gayi dooriyan, main yahaan hoon, yahaan, hoon, yahaan hoon, yahhan!" someone sang before running to hug Geet from behind.
"Finally Mr. Arjun Singhania ko fursat milgaya kaam se?" Geet asked angrily, coming out of his embrace.
"Sweetheart naraaz mat ho, work is just killing me," Arjun said guiltily.
"Us work se hi shaadi karlo, yahaan kyun aaya ho?" she huffed and turned around.
"Meri dulhan le jaane ke liye," he said dramatically falling on his knees.
"Arjun," Geet warned before she ran to hit him. He madly dashed off fearing he would be torn to pieces if Geet laid hands on him.
Prem and Dia laughed at them; while Arjun was trying his best to pacify her, she was running around not even ready to listen to his lame excuses. "They'll never grow up," Dia commented while Prem simply nodded in consent.
After sometime, everyone gathered around the dining table for the lunch. The room was filled with laughter and chatter. "Toh Amar, Maan nahi aaya?" and old man in his late sixties, sitting by the end of the table asked. Geet's ears shot up at the mention of the name and she looked intently at them.
Thakur Amarnath Singh Khurana, the man who commanded the city of Delhi by his mere glance sat beside his close friend, Mohan Lal Handa, with his favorite little poti, Anya who was smearing her baby food all over him. Mohan and Amar started out as strangers in their young school days back in Madhupur, near Amritsar. Soon they had become inseparable friends and went to the same college in Delhi before setting up their respective businesses. They had shared everything including sorrows and joy. Their families were gelled together and grew up as one whole big unit. Even after the Handas had shifted their base to Rajasthan, the Handas and the Khuranas made sure they spent their time together during summer or any other occasion like festivals or melas. Mohan and Amar's children had grown up together and it was no surprise when Prem, Amar's eldest proposed to Dia, Mohan Handa's oldest daughter. Both families welcomed the new relationship and they were elated that their blooming friendship had been turned into a relationship. And now again they had gathered on the occasion of marriage.
"Nahi Mohan, voh London se vapas kal aarahe hain," Amar said.
"It's perfect timing," Mohan said with a smile.
Just then Arjun poked her from beside, "Oye! Kahaan kho gayi tu? Already going to dreamland about me huh?" he smirked. "Mujhe pata hai darling, but kuch toh sabar karo, kal toh hum donon ki shaadi hone wali hai," he winked.
Geet, who was initially shocked to respond, smacked him playfully in his arms before breaking into a fit of laughter. "Arjun!" she yelled before blushing at the thought of marriage. "Tumhe mujhe nahi dhandne ke liye Naina zaroorat padegi, kahan hai voh?" she asked searching through the table. "Naina!" she called, not finding her anywhere near.
"I'm right here my dear sister!" she heard her giggle from behind her chair. Naina came to stand beside Geet and leaned onto her slightly, "Kya hua Geeto?" she asked curiously.
"Naina, hamare Arjun sahib bahut tang kar raha hai mujhe, dekho toh sahi," she said in a serious tone.
"Kyunji meri di ko tang kar rahe ho?' Naina asked staring at Arjun who seemed to be a bit lost in her. Geet giggled at his plight and gave him a you-so-deserve-this look before running away to her room.
Geet entered her large room located on the other end of the palatial house. It was decorated with simple yet elegant furniture and it was painted in her favorite color, red. Well she wouldn't say it was her favorite color but she had soon come to love the color due to few special reasons. The huge wall near the bed was adorned with a life-size photo of her along with Maan that was taken when they had gone on tour with their family back when she was in seventh grade while he was in tenth. She flung herself on the bed wondering why Maan didn't come as he was supposed today. "Ugh Babaji, meine itni saari mehnat ki aur dekho he didn't even bother to come," she complained looking up. "Jab dekho mujhe pareshan karte hain voh," she said laying on her stomach with her hands perched on her chin, supporting it. "Chaddo mujhe kya!" she said biting her silver chain.

so... how was it so far?? i kno i kno no maaneet scenes but we need to set the stage right?? 😉

Part 2:
"On behalf of British Airlines and the entire crew, I'd like to thank you for joining us on this trip and we are looking forward to seeing you on board again in the near future. Have a nice day!" the lady through the announcement chirped causing Maan to look out from his seat. Soon his view of tiny structures started getting larger as the flight prepared to land in the pink city of India, Jaipur. Although he had told everyone that he would be landing only tomorrow, he had planned to give everyone a surprise by landing the previous day. He had been informed that his family had travelled to Alwar, a town near Jaipur where the Handas resided and had asked him to directly land in Jaipur. He was pleased that on the day of his return he would finally again get to see Geet, his Geet. He had left on a sour note when she had begged him not to go to London while he was forced to follow his pappa's orders although it ripped his heart to leave her crying. He had cursed himself every single day for leaving her in such a vulnerable condition. But he knew talking to her would hurt her more, so he had kept a safe distance from her and didn't interact much while he was in London.
He walked out of the airport, calling for a cab to take him to Handa Haveli. The driver had loaded his luggage while he sat in the backseat before pulling out his wallet. He took out a picture that he had always treasured since his younger days. It was picture of his Geet along with him overlooking a huge mango tree and paddy fields. The memory of the day when the photo was taken was still fresh in his mind as though it had happened yesterday. It was a day he would always cherish in life for something had drastically changed that day. He leaned on the seat and closed his eyes, once again flooding his thoughts with the events of that day.
~Flashback~
The Handas and the Khuranas had decided to spend their children's summer vation down in a small village near Madhupur in their ancestral home. All the kids were delighted to finally go away from the city for a few weeks in order to experience and calm and serene life. Once they reached the place everyone took an instant liking to lush green fields, clean atmosphere, and quiet life as opposed to a city.
Once they had arrived, the kids decided to explore around. The Khurana and the Handa kids including, Tej, Naina, Dia, Prem, Geet, and Maan along with Rahul, Geet's close friend and classmate had tagged along. While Tej, Naina, Dia, and Prem decided to explore the other side, Maan, Geet, and Rahul decided to explore along the east side of the village. The three were walking along the small lane along the paddy fields when Geet suddenly stopped in her tracks.
"Oi voh dekho!" little Geet, about the age of twelve, squeaked.
"Kya?" Rahul asked eagerly, trying to see in the direction Geet was pointing. He stood close to Geet, his head almost touching hers.
Maan noticed Rahul's closeness and involuntarily something within him raged fire; he went to stand near Geet and roughly pulled her closer to him in the pretext of asking. "Kya hai?" he spat a little irritated.
Geet, who had grown up with him, was used to his roughness, so nothing seemed odd when he had pulled her towards him. "Voh, mango tree Maan," she said excitedly.
"Toh?" he asked nonchalantly.
"Toh? What do you mean toh?" she asked irked at his carefree response.
Maan relaxed a little feeling sorry for not listening to her properly. "I didn't mean that Geetu, I just meant so what do you want to do?"
"Mujhe voh chahiye," she said sweetly.
"Is that all?" he asked surprised. Geet nodded and smiled cutely, melting his heart. Without a second thought he ran in search of a ladder to fulfill her wish.
Geet saw him hurrying away and looked confusedly at his retreating figure. "Arre Maan!" she called but he had disappeared into the small alley. "Uff yeh ladka bhi na, bilkul buddhu hai," she said hitting her forehead in frustration. She then looked at the tree and skipped to it while asking Rahul to follow. She reached the tree and looked up at the fruit that was hanging. It didn't look to be too far; she stretched her hands to reach it. But her tiny hands were unable to go even close to where the fruit was. She jumped a few times, stretching her hand in order to reach it, but it was of no avail. Failing in her attempts, she looked dejectedly at the fruit.
Rahul seeing her futile attempts decided to help her. He picked her up so that she could reach it. Geet was surprised by the sudden act and yelped in surprise. But once she realized what he was upto she smiled, looking down at him. He held her tightly from her waist while her legs dangled in the air. She supported herself by holding him tightly by his shoulder while his head seemed to be buried in her midriff. Her other hand tried to reach the fruit when she heard a roar and when she saw where it came from, she saw a very angry Maan.
"Put her down!" Maan roared, his eyes red like live embers. He strode angrily towards Geet and Rahul as though ready to destroy something. Rahul trembled and immediately put her down and looked scared, unable to meet Maan's furious gaze. "How dare you touch her?" he spat, pulling Geet towards him before giving him a hard punch on his face. Geet tried to open her mouth but he glared at her causing her to instantly shut her mouth. "Leave this place immediately if not you'll be here not your life. Do you understand?" he threatened. Rahul meekly nodded gulping hard. He didn't know his act had brought out the demon in Maan and tried to fathom the reason. Blood ran amuck from the corner of his lips but the fear of losing his life caused him to run away.
"Maan! What was that?" Geet asked angrily coming away from his hold. "He was trying to help me."
"That's not what I saw," he said staring back at her. "How dare he touch you like that and lift you!" he glowered. "I shall not tolerate anyone touching you. Tumhe chune ka haq sirf mera hai," he said roughly pulling her and entrapping her in his tight embrace. "Sirf mujhe haq hai," he said looking intently at her eyes. Geet saw something new reflecting in his eyes. His behavior and the emotions in his eyes clearly illustrated something that Geet had seen for the first time. They stood in that position for a while, both their eyes lost in each other's. She stood perfectly molded to his body as though they were two parts of a jigsaw puzzle.
Geet was couldn't name what she was going through nor could she fathom what was that she saw in his eyes. She wanted to calm him down so she slowly raised her hands to his cheeks and soothed him. She smiled weakly, "Sirf tumhe haq hai," she said softly. Her touch and her assurance seemed to cool him down. He relaxed down a bit but he still frowned.
"Geet main tumhe abhi hi keh rahi hoon, mera bina tumhare kareeb kisi aur ko nahi bardaasht kar sakta. Mat poocho kyun bas nahi kar sakta. Samjhi tum?' his voice reflected deep yearning.
Geet looked at him still a little puzzled with his statement. She definitely cared for him and loved the way he cared for her but his open declaration had got her thinking. She decided not to upset him for the time being hoping he would ease out a bit.
"You want that mango right? Ajao I shall lift you," he said bring her under the same spot that she stood a few minutes ago and lifted her gently. Geet felt a slight flutter in her stomach but ignored it and continued to pluck the mango got down. She remembered she had got her instant camera and insisted they take a picture by the tree for which Maan happily consented. They had asked a local passerby to take their picture while Maan pulled Geet close to her and stood under the tree.
~End Flashback~
"Sabji," he heard someone call him. Maan stirred in his sleep. "Saabji," he heard the voice again a little louder. Maan woke with a jerk breaking of from his wonderful dream.
"Huh?" Maan asked.
"Voh Alwar pohunchnewala hai, aapko yahaan kahaan jaana hai?" the driver asked politely.
"Handa haveli," Maan said while the driver took a turn. Maan looked back at the photo he clutched and a small smile crept in the corner of his mouth. He touched his lips with his fingers and let it slowly run on the photo, letting his fingers linger on her image. Yes, he loved her he loved his Geet. Although he had never really voiced his opinion nor let anyone know of his real feelings for her but had made sure he was by her side for he knew he could never stay away from her. When his Pappa asked him to go to London for higher education, it had killed him a thousand deaths to stay away from her, but his responsibility towards his father came first. He vowed to finish his study and declare his love for her, making her his forever. And finally today the day had arrived; he wanted to surprise her and ask for her to be his wife.
The driver finally drove into the entrance of the Handa haveli and stopped. His heart skipped a beat at the thought of seeing her after so long. He hurriedly put the photo back in his pocket and dashed out of the car paying the driver and getting his luggage.
Maan walked in the entrance door excitedly only to be shocked at the site that was before him. Geet stood coyly holding another man's hand while he lovingly looked at her.
"Be mine?" he heard the man ask while Geet shied down.
"I'm yours forever!" she said coyly before running away.

Maan couldn't believe his ears; it seemed as though the ground underneath had disappeared. He dropped his bag while he stood like a statue. He felt a thousand arrows piercing his heart while his soul seemed to have become empty. The scene he has seen before his eyes a few moments ago killed something inside him. He wished to have faced death rather than seeing his Geet become someone else's.

Part 3:
Maan dragged his legs into the house while he walked in like a zombie. As he walked in sans his soul, someone came rushing by his side.
"Maan! What a surprise!" Dia exclaimed. Seeing him not react and stare blankly ahead, she waved her hands in front of his face. He didn't seem to flicker his eyes even for a second. She looked puzzled at his expression but figured he was searching for someone she nudged him slightly. "Hello devarji, kahan kho gaye aap?" she teased.
"Huh?" he said disoriented.
"Kya hua Maan, you seem to be lost somewhere," Dia said with concern, cupping her right hand on his cheek.
Maan looked at his worried Dia bhabhi and smiled slightly. Although he was shattered, he didn't want to her to know his pain for he knew she would take too much stress upon herself. "Kuch nahi bhabhi," he brushed it off lightly. "Surprise!" he said hugging her tightly, hoping to divert her attention.
"I missed you Maan!" she said hugging him back.
"I missed you too bhabhi, actually cancel that, I didn't miss you," he said releasing her from his embrace.
Dia scrunched her nose and frowned at him. "Accha?" she asked dejectedly.
"Haan, aap toh mere saath hi the," he paused confusing her more, "mera dil mein," he said patting his chest lightly.
"Aaww, how sweet," she said touched.
"Sweet na?" he said. "Main sweet bhi hoon aur jhoot bhi bahut bolta hoon," he winked before laughing out loudly.
"Badmash kahin ke!" she said running to whack him while he ran away from her. She ran around the couch while he deftly dodged her and slipped out of her reach. He tried to move away from her when he suddenly banged into someone else.
"Arre Maan! Sambhal ke!" Prem said staggering to stand straight. "By the way what a surprise!" he said looking at Maan.
"Prem bhaiyya!" Maan said hugging his brother. He had always looked up to his brother as his guide, philosopher, and role model. And to get to meet him again after so many years was really heart-warming for Maan.
Prem broke apart from the hug and held him at arm's length. "Kaisa hai tu?" Prem asked lovingly ruffling Maan's hair.
"I am fine bhaiyya, aur aap?" Maan asked.
"Bas okay," he said solemnly.
"Kyun bhaiyya?" Maan asked with concern.
"Voh kya hai na tumhari bhabhi ki mood swings ke vajah se I am battered. Bas abhi tak sirf chaar mahine hue hai aur abhi se shuru ho gayi," he said sadly.
"Kya main phirse chachu ban-ne wala hoon?" Maan asked excitedly. "Congrats bhaiyya!" he said, once again hugging him for the good news.
Dia heard Prem's complaint and came angrily to his side, "Prem aapne kya kaha?" she asked with her teeth gritted.
"Arre patniji aap aa gaye, maine toh kuch nahi kaha, haina Maan?" he asked innocently. Maan chuckled at his brother's plight. Although his brother commanded the Khurana Empire along with his Pappa, in front of Dia bhabhi, he was a mere mouse. The love and care Prem carried for his wife was beyond expression and Maan loved to see such a lovely couple.
Maan went to Dia and side-hugged her, "Bhabhi, Prem bhaiyya ne kaha ki voh tak gaye hai aapke mood swings ke kaaran," he said gleefully causing Prem to bite his tongue.
"Bhabhi ka chamcha!" Prem yelled before running after him. Dia laughed at the duo and shook her head at them before heading towards the kitchen to inform everyone of Maan's early arrival. She called everyone in the kitchen and dining area so Geet and Arjun, who had ran upstairs, were missing.
Amar arrived at the cat and mouse game chase seen a few minutes after Dia had informed him of Maan's surprise arrival. He chuckled at the scene and called out, "Arre Maan beta!" he said a little loudly. Maan turned around to find his father eagerly calling him and his abrupt stop had made Prem bump into him. Maan strode towards his Pappa smiling widely back at him. he bent to touch his feet to get his father's blessings but his father caught him midway, "Arre Maan, jeete raho! What a surprise!"
While Amar hugged his son lovingly, others assembled beside him. "Thanks Pappa, haan I wanted to give you all a surprise," Maan smiled although his smile failed to reach his eyes. "Good, in fact that's great you are here earlier, kyun Mohan?" he asked looking at Mohan who stood opposite to Amar.
"Haan," Mohan said while Maan came to him to take his blessings. After the initial greetings and hugs with the rest of the family, Amar and Mohan asked Maan with them in the couch for they wanted to discuss something important. "Toh beta tumne hume ek acchi si surprise diya, toh hum tumhe wapas ek bahut badi surprise dene walein hain," Mohan said with a huge grin. Maan looked puzzled at him while he continued, "kal tera shaadi hai," he winked.
"Kya?" Maan asked shocked. Already he was stumped his Geet was becoming someone else's on top that Mohan uncle had just announced he was going to be married tomorrow. He was unable to digest that he was suppose to share a life with someone while his heart still longed for Geet. He gulped hard avoiding the huge lump forming in throat.
"Haan beta, kal tera, Naina, Arjun, aur Geet ki shaadi honewali hai. We wanted to give you a surprise when you returned back from London," Amar said with a genuine smile. Maan groaned inwardly looking at his father's eagerness. He didn't want to spoil his father's hope but he could not marry some other than Geet. And from what his father said, he would be marrying Geet's sister, Naina; that would be the worst punishment for him.
"Magar Pappa," he began hesitantly hating to shatter his father's hope.
"Magar vagar kuch nahi, faisla ho chuka hai Maan," Amar said firmly. "Chalo jaldi se tayyar ho jao, since you are here one day early, we can begin all the rituals today itself," said getting up and walking away to get things ready for the occasion.
Maan couldn't gather enough courage to go against his father's wishes but at the same time his heart betrayed him. He would never able to go through this marriage. He was in a major dilemma that he couldn't figure out the solution for. He bent his head low in sorrow and walked dejectedly upstairs towards his room. Since the Khuranas were regular visitors to the Handa mansion, they were assigned their own rooms. His room was adjacent to Geet's and is connected by a common balcony. He dropped his bags and walked towards the balcony, hoping to get a glimpse of her.
Geet, who had finally arrived to her room after a long cat and mouse chase with Arjun, sat by her dressing table, lost in some other world. She was facing away from the balcony, with her back to the window. She absent-mindedly combed through the air with her fingers, as though she was combing her long curly hair. Maan, forgetting his worries, stared at the ethereal beauty through the reflection on the mirror. She was perfect in every way he could imagine; she was soft, caring, and angel like being, who could brighten even the most depressing things on earth. Few moments later he noticed she was combing the air. He shook his head at her silly act and a small smiled played on his lips. "Pagli!" he whispered, chuckling slightly.
Suddenly Maan noticed her talking to someone on the other side on the wall. Since he stood in a position where his view was blocked by a closet, he couldn't see to whom she was talking to. He assumed it was Arjun while she began to speak a little loudly.
"Tumhe pata hai, main tumhe bahut pyaar karti hoon, magar tum mujhe kyun itni tang kar rahe ho?" she asked pouting like a little child. Maan stiffened at the mention of love and his face became pale. "Magar tum kahan jayega, main tumse chun chun kar badla loongi," she said pointing her fingers, "and that's a promise," she said smiling mischievously. Just then she heard someone calling for her and turned around when she noticed a familiar figure standing in the balcony. She froze at the moment and started, not believing what she was seeing. She got up slowly, her eyes glued to his figure. "Could he be real?" she thought hesitantly, "or am I day dreaming like usual?" He stared at her again, her cute facial expressions turning from confusion to shock. "Tum phirse mujhe tang karne lege?" she asked loudly scrunching her nose. "Hey babaji, mein seriously pagal ho gayi hoon!" she whined looking up and walking towards the exit. Her voice brought him back to reality and chuckled at her innocence in believing he was not real.
"Oi Geetu!" he called wanting to feel her in his arms.
Geet stopped dead in her tracks and turned around to the source of voice. "Maan," she whispered. Maan smiled back at her shocked expression and gestured her assuring he was really there indeed. She ran out of her room and into the balcony before jumping and hugging him tightly. They stood in that position for long, trying to soothe each other with their presence. It seemed like eternity before they broke out of their embrace and held each other in their arm's length. Geet's silent tears had stained her face and Maan looked deeply into her hazel brown eyes that were filled with tears, threatening to fall anytime. "Tum aagaye ho?" she asked disbelievingly. He simply nodded, unable to say anything. "Dust danav!" she said suddenly realizing she wasn't supposed to hug him.
"Kya?" Maan asked surprised at her sudden change in mood.
"Haan, tumhe pata hai main kitni miss ki tumhe," she said crying again. "Aaj tum aane wala than a, toh phir kyun nahi aaya?" she said hitting him lightly on the chest. "Main kitni wait ki, aur subah subah tumhare liye tumhari favorite sweet pineapple crush bhi bani. Uff babaji! sirf mujhe pata hai main uskeliye kitni mehnat ki," she began cutely complaining. Maan simply stared at her while she began her monologue. "Pehle main toh bhool chuki thi aur thank god Anagha bhabhi ne remind ki toh main shuru ho gayi. Aur tumhe pata hai kya hua?" she asked her hands on her hip. He nodded a no innocently. "The ingredients were not there properly. Pehle no crushed pineapple and then instead of condensed milk there was evaporated milk," she said counting with her fingers. "I had to first crush it, then add the milk, and then'" she stopped abruptly when she felt his lips on her.
Maan felt at peace when he hugged her close to his heart, hoping to heal his wounded soul. He couldn't stop looking at her when she was cutely complaining about his absence and her adventure with his favorite sweet that he preferred being prepared from only her. He knew she was a big chatterbox and once she began she would never stop blabbering. Although he chided her to be talkative, he had always enjoyed her rant away about something silly she did or saw. He would simply stare at her cute expression while she went on with her lengthy speech. But today he couldn't control his urge to taste those rosebud lips from which beautiful words came out of. Before he knew what he was doing, he bent low to capture her lips. And as soon as his lips touched hers, an unknown fire inside him blazed. His touch had brought a kind of exquisite tenderness while at the same time his urge to explore more made him deepen his kiss roughly. He tightly locked her in his embrace and wound his muscular arms around her petite waist. He parted her lips with his tongue in a swift motion, and invaded her mouth forcefully sucking her breath out. He bit her lower lip as she moaned before once again kissing her madly.
Geet didn't know how to react when she felt his lips on her. She stood frozen to the spot and let him take over. His lips felt so right in hers and she let her desires and pleasure take the better of her. Her hands unconsciously slid up to his hair, pulling him more towards her, as she stood on her toes to reach him eagerly. His kiss was creating havoc in her causing her to not think straight. She moaned in pleasure as he sucked and nibbled her lips. She was lost in his kiss and was about to respond fervently when she suddenly remembered something, causing her to snap out of the kiss. The sudden withdrawal caused Maan to look at her with confusion and yearning.
"Maan yeh kya kar rahe ho?" she asked, her eyes wide with shock and holding her lips where his had touched a few moments ago. She pushed him a little away from her and walked back a few steps. Maan realized he had just kissed a woman who was bound to be someone else's tomorrow. He had let his urges overtake him when he saw her luscious lips. He mentally slapped himself for stooping so low and bent his head in shame.
"Yeh mujhse kya ho gaya?" he thought alarmed at his own actions. "Sorry," he mumbled.
"Sorry? Did he just say sorry?" she thought wearily. "Yeh kehna aur chahta tha aur ab yeh kya keh raha hai. Uff babaji! sach much mein pagal ho gaya hai," she said slapping her forehead. Maan slightly lifted his head to see her reaction when she straightened herself looked taken aback by his sudden onslaught. "Kya kaha?" she asked quizzically.
"Sorry," he whispered a little louder than last time.
"Confirmed pagal!" she thought. "Sorry? Accha pehle kiss karo aur phir sorry?" she asked with her hands on her hips. "I see how it works!" she said accusingly.
Maan looked up, his eyes filled with guilt, "Voh mein, voh," he stumbled upon to find the right words.
"Voh mein kya? Kal meri shaadi hai aur tum abhi," she said touching her now swollen lips.
"I'm extremely sorry Geet, I, I didn't realize, I, mujhe nahi karna chahiye tha," he said woefully, fiddling his fingers anxiously.
"Maan stop behaving like a girl, bending you head low, fiddling your fingers," she said sternly, looking at him directly in him. And then she mumbled something under her breath, unintelligible to him, before turning away. She walked a few paces before stopping and turning again to the confused and remorseful Maan. "Grow up Dust Danav!" she snapped before storming downstairs.
"Grow up?" he mouthed confusedly before the words seeped into him. "Did she just tell me to grow up and dust danav?" he looked at her disbelievingly. Anger flared up and he fumed at her comment. He lunged forward and caught her wrists roughly before she made it to her room. He twisted her hands behind her back and jerked her forward, making her fall on him. "Did you just ask me to grow up?" he asked, his anger rising up steadily.
"Haan!" she bit back harshly. She tried to squirm out of his grip but he simply tightened his hold on her. "Chodo mujhe!" she said knotting her eyebrows.
"Geet!" he screamed, staring angrily at her. "Main tumhe sharafat se sorry kaha aur tum mujhe, Maan Singh Khurana ko grow up kaha? Do you have any idea where this has gotten you into?" he asked threateningly.
"Nahi, would you care to enlighten me?" she asked sarcastically. "Oh wait I know, just to give me pain!"
"Chup!" he yelled he said twisting her hands more unable to take her caustic words. He was genuinely sorry that he had mindlessly kissed her while she was going to get married to someone else. But his mind had slipped when he hand seen her vulnerable lips, as if inviting him to blunder it. And before he knew it he was kissing her. It almost seemed like she was about to respond back when she had suddenly backed off. He never intended to do so but sometimes the heart doesn't wait for anyone and he had carelessly let his heart overtake his rational brain. Of course he was sorry for that but when Geet had asked him to grow up, he couldn't take it anymore. He knew he was not immature enough to stoop so low but her acidic words added fire to his already burning guilty soul.
"Maan mujhe dard ho raha hai," she said in pain while tears fell from her eyes. He instantly let go seeing her in pain while his expressions mellowed down. She ran away downstairs before giving him a chance to explain.
"Ugh Geet! Maine socha tumhe choone ke liye sirf muhje haq hai magar aaj," he stopped midway of his sentence failing to complete it.

Part 4:
The rituals of mehendi had begun in full swing in the Handa Haveli and all the guests and family members were busy preparing for it. The large hall had been decorated beautifully with yellow carnations and other decorative lights, brightening the atmosphere. People were standing and chatting in groups while kids ran here and there, playing with their mates. A large partition had been raised in the middle of the hall, separating the men and women's side. The music blared through the large speakers situated around the hall playing various Hindi and Punjabi numbers.
Maan was sitting in the corner, surrounded by few guys, who were teasing him about his upcoming marriage life. They were busy making fun of him and failed to notice that he was least bothered listening to them. Everyone misinterpreted his disinterested look as shyness and kept probing him further, irritating him further. Not wanting to take their mindless blabbering any further, he decided to leave the place in order to gain some alone time. He walked out of the hall, into the empty corridor and took the exit that led to the backyard.
The huge backyard was well lit with lights that hung from the thick bushes and shrubs that adorned the backyard garden along with various kinds of flowering plants. On the northeast corner of the yard was the small yet beautiful waterfall. Maan walked towards it to soothe his nerves from the calming effect of the sound of the falling water. He threw away his shoes and walked along the small stream that trickled after the fall of the water. Just as he was walking slowly he heard a ruffling noise and turned to see two familiar figures walking towards him.
"Ahem," Geet said, clearing her throat. She had an unusual smirk on her face as though she was teasing him for his plight.
"So, Maan'" Naina began only to be harshly interrupted by Geet with an urgent tug.
"Jijaji," Geet finished, stretching the word and pronouncing it slowly. "Toh aap yahaan kya kar rahe ho?" she asked looking suspiciously.
"Aap?" Maan wondered at Geet's sudden change in addressing him.
"Naina ka dulhe babu toh mera jijaji banta hai na?" she asked as though reading his mind. "Kyun jijaji?" she again asked with a glint of mischief in her eyes.
"Hmph!" Maan grunted in response before turning to walk away from them.
"Kya hua Maan? Why do you look so tensed?" Naina asked with concern.
"Kuch nahi Naina, voh dikta aise hi," Geet butt in.
"Accha?" Naina asked innocently. "Magar mujhe toh laga ki voh kuch chupa rahe hain jaise ki voh kisi ladki se pyaar karte hain."
Maan's eyes shot up and he looked uneasily at Geet before looking at Naina. "Arre pagli Naina!" Geet said slapping her forehead, "tumne suna nahi voh har waqt kya keh ke ghumta phirta hai, Maan Singh Khurana ke life mein pyaar vyaar nahi hota," she said imitating his gruff voice.
"Haan yaar Geeto, ek minute ke liye mein bhi gabra gayi ki Maan Singh Khurana pyaar mein pad gaya. Magar Maan toh Maan hai, kabhi badlega nahi, kyun Maan?" Naina asked winking at Maan.
Maan wanted to scream no that was the old Maan and the new Maan has indeed fallen for Geet but the words stuck in his throat. Yes, he had been a man who was adverse to love or any kind of emotional attachments to people but the separation from Geet for all these years had made him realize his feelings towards her. All those years when Geet had tried to make him realize the importance of emotions and relations between people, he had simply scoffed saying those were for the weak. But today he was the weakest of all. Destiny seemed to have something else in store for him. The day when he realized he couldn't live without Geet, his father had ordered him to marry, not Geet but her sister, Naina. He had grown up to respect his father and follow his word without second thought and to talk to him about his change in decision would be an insult to his father. Oscillating between his love and his responsibility he had quietly resolved to put his responsibility above his love. A choice he had dreaded to take but was expected to do so for his family, for his Pappa. He shut his eyes tightly and curled his fists into a ball, in frustration and looked away from Naina and Geet.
"Accha suniye," Naina said softly looking at Maan.
"Haye Naina!" Geet said dramatically. "Kahiye," she teased.
"Oi Geeto chup kar, chal use tang mat karna," she said sternly. "Aap carry on, we just came to say hello to you. Chal Geeto mehendi lagane ki time ho gayi," she said pushing Geet before she could open her mouth.
Maan watched their retreating figures and stretched his hand as though he wanted to call out for Geet. He ran his fingers on his hair, frustratingly, before kicking a small stone away in anger. He cursed his ill fate and stomped his feet, splashing water everywhere. He again looked at Geet, who was giggling and walking away from him. As though on trance he blindly followed her, keeping a safe distance away from her.
The girls reached the hall and rushed to the other side of the curtain, giggling excitedly. An involuntary smile curved in Maan's lips as he saw Geet so happy about the turn of events. He passed by the long curtain that separated the ladies from the gent's side and his urge to peek into the other side where his Pari sat. He walked to the end of the curtain, to an area that was relatively deserted and slightly cracked it open. Geet and Naina sat in the midst of women who were teasing them while the professional mehendi designers were working their way through. He was simply staring at Geet as she was blushing while all her friends were nudging and teasing her. Then she whispered something to the mehendi designer causing her to smile.
"Kya naam likhun?" the woman asked with the cone in her hand.
"Arjun!" Geet chirped loudly.
Maan who was admiring Geet until now froze at her declaration. His blood boiled at the mention of the name yet he knew that was the reality and he couldn't do anything about it. He strode away from the place angrily, shutting everything else from his mind. He hurriedly grabbed a car's key and drove madly to find a lonely place, a place to hide himself and his burning soul.

~X~X~X~X~

Maan sat somberly on the mandap awaiting his intented doom in his wedding clothes. The love of his life was going to be married today in front of his eyes, but not to him. He smiled wryly at the ironic situation. He was the groom and she was the bride except she was not his bride. Everyone around him turned to see the brides walk beautifully dressed in their bridal attire with their pallu neatly pinned on their heads, not revealing their blushing faces. He looked away, trying to avoid the stabbing pain in his heart.
After coming back from the lonesome ride last night, he was determined to tell his father about his love for Geet. He had in fact prepared and braced himself to face his dad bravely. But as soon as he walked in he saw his father, along with Mohan uncle and other family members, happily enjoying and having fun. Seeing his father happy, it had killed him to tell him about his love and destroy his father's happiness and family honor. Seeing no other option, he quietly walked to his room, brushing away the lone tear on his cheek.
The var mala ceremony had taken place with no what-so-ever enthusiasm on his part. He had looked disinterestedly while his brother and his friends lifted him while the bride came to put the garland on him. Unable to take their incessant teasing and lifting Maan angrily gestured them to stop the nonsense and bent down for the bride to put the garland. The guys booed while the girls hooted that the guy would have to bow to the bride always.
When it was time for the bride to put the garland, the girls were having their fun too, as Dia made sure Maan couldn't easily put the garland on the bride. Every time he came forward to put the garland, she pulled the shy bride back. the men yelled while the ladies giggled away.
"Oh ho Maan, come on, are you giving up on her so easily?" Dia teased, as Maan stood clearly frustrated by childish plays. Not wanting to show his raw emotions, he gruffly pulled the bride towards him before the girls got to her and put the garland on her in a huff. The ladies aah-ed while the men wolf whistled at his urgency to get the ceremony over with.
Next was the main ceremony of the marriage; dulhan ki maang bharna, tying the sacred thread around her neck, and walking around the fire seven times, symbolizing the union of two souls. Maan sat restlessly on the mandap; his heart wanted to scream he loved only Geet while his brain warned him from doing so. He had tried to tame his heart but seeing Arjun in he adjacent mandap, caused his blood to boil at unbelievably high heights. The more he was trying to forget the times he spent with Geet since childhood, the more they played in front of his eyes, and he was reliving those wonderful moments. Her first gift to him on his 8th birthday, the lovely times they spent playing during each of his visits during summer, his first sign of possessiveness when he had seen Geet with another guy, their fights and the later make-ups; every single moment spent with her seemed precious. He still remembered the day when she had begged him not to leave her for London, the longing in her eyes spoke a different language yet he had mercilessly left her, scoffing separation would only make two people forget each other and live normally; only to find he couldn't survive one minute without her, throughout his stay in London. He had realized she was his soulmate, his love, his life. His streaming of thoughts was abruptly interrupted when he saw his bride sit next to him. The ache in his heart was exploding beyond control. He saw his dad sitting in the front row, busily giving instructions, Maan involuntarily got up and screamed, "Pappa mein Geet se bahut pyaar karta hoon, uski bina main jee nahi paunga. I want to marry only her!" before he could stop himself.
The marriage came to a standstill at Maan's sudden outburst. Everyone was confused and looked puzzled at his declaration turned towards, questioning his intentions. Amar looked at Maan mortified while Mohan and others thought they were dreaming. "Haan pappa, aaj mujhe rokiyega mat, for if I don't confess today, I swear none of us can live in peace. I love her pappa, since the day I have seen her crawl, it's just that it took me this long to realize it. Magar aaj mujhe yeh sach Maan-na hi padega ki without her this life will be wasted. I'm sorry to have disappointed you magar aaj main nahi kahun toh life long pachtana padega," he said everything in one breadth but everyone around him just stared, getting more confused by the minute. But Maan failed to notice anyone's expression and wanted to pour out his innermost feelings before it was too late. "I," he began when he felt a tug, he dismissed it and began again, "I," but he felt the tug again. Once again he forcefully removed his hand and began when he heard a familiar voice. A voice that could quench his dried and withered soul.
"Maan," she said softly causing his heart to skip a beat. He slowly turned his head hoping what he heard was not a dream. He hesitantly looked as she stood up and began to remove her veil that covered her flawless face. Maan saw her lotus petal like soft lips that curved into a smile, her beautifully etched nose, and then her perfectly shaped fish like eyes. Maan couldn't believe his eyes; he furiously rubbed them praying what he saw was real. "Maan," she repeated once again, her melodious voice rang through his ears. He stood mesmerized at the sight before him, dumbfounded at the turn of events. The girl whom he had fallen head over heels for, the girl whom he couldn't imagine a life without, the girl whom he thought had slipped away from him, stood right beside him as his bride.
"Maan," Geet said this time a little urgently and tugging his sherwani.
"Huh?" he asked still dazed.
"Thank god babaji! I thought you would never confess!" she grumbled. "I love you too," Geet said kissing him on his cheeks. "Tum kaho tho hum abhi shaadi wapas shuru karein," she smirked.
Everyone in the hall chuckled at her and wondered what had happened to Maan when all the while it was Geet who had stood beside him. The Handas and the Khuranas sighed in relief for they feared something worse. "Uff! Yeh mera beta bhi na," Amar said, shaking his head.
As the guests and family were having a good laugh, Maan meekly sat back with Geet, to ahead with the marriage procedures. He still couldn't quite comprehend what had happened a few minutes ago. All the while he had thought Geet was getting married to Arjun in the adjacent mandap but how come she was beside him? The events that had happened since yesterday had clearly pointed she was going to marry Arjun. The proposal he had seen yesterday morning, her aghast reaction for the kiss, her calling him jeejaji; she had even asked the mehendi woman to write Arjun's name yet she was his bride all the while. Thousands of unanswerable questions erupted in his mind but he quickly brushed them away to at least cherish his marriage with the love of his life, Geet. He noticed a mischievous glint in her eyes throughout the wedding while on the other hand his bhabhi and bhaiyya seemed to not chuckle and giggle quite often while Geet joined in too. He was baffled with their expressions and decided to ask, "Geet, app logon ko itni hasi kyun aa rahi hai?"
"Ku kuch nahi," she said bursting out laughing and eyeing Dia.
"Oi Geet chup kar!" Dia warned before laughing with her.
"Bhaiyya," Maan whined at their incessant laughing.
"Girls seriously?" Prem asked but he too joined in laughing at Maan.
Having no choice, Maan grunted at their continuous ridicule and planned to find out the reason later. The pandit asked Maan to fill Geet's maang and he was just pleased to do so. He lovingly slid a little amount of sindhoor as she shied, unable to look at him. A pinch of kumkum fell on her little nose, causing her to blush more. Maan's heart swelled at the look of his bride and badly wanted to pull her in for a kiss if not for the crowd that surrounded them. He slid the tiny black beaded chain onto her neck, slightly bracing his fingers on her delicate neck. She slightly shivered in response to his touch and looked longingly at him. He bent a little towards her and kissed her forehead, admiring the fact that she was finally his. Women awed at his kiss while the men wolf whistled causing Geet to blush crimson.
During the ritual of going around the fire seven times, tying their relationship for the seven lifetimes to come, Maan held Geet's hand tightly, promising her to keep her happy forever. Flowers and blessing were showered endlessly while both the bride and the groom went around the fire, promising each other happiness and joy in this life and the lives to follow.
Finally all the rituals were done on the mandap and the couples came out of it to take their blessings from the elders. Maan and Geet went to Maan's father and took his blessings. He willingly gave him his heartfelt blessings and hugged them both before shedding tears of joy. He was indeed proud of his son, Maan and today he felt complete after seeing the love for Geet in Maan's eyes. "Buddhu! Ek minute mein dara diya!" he said smacking Maan's arm a little.
"Voh," Maan began but Amar simply brushed him off, "Chal chodd, meri Pari ko khush rakhna teekhai?" he said lovingly looking at Geet while Maan simply nodded in assent. Next they went to seek the blessings of Geet's parents. Arjun and Naina were taking the blessings and moved to give them way when Maan saw Geet wink at Arjun and Naina as they gave her thumbs up sign. Maan was confused at their gesture but went ahead to seek Geet's parent's blessings.
It was decided that Maan and Geet along with Arjun and Naina would complete few other rituals right in the Khurana mansion located a few blocks away from the Handas. The Khuranas had considered it their second home and had bought it when they knew the Handas had settled in Alwar.
The traditional aarati was taken and Geet entered the house, slightly kicking the rice pot. As soon as she entered the house, Maan instantly lifted her up to her surprise. Dia chuckled at his gesture while Prem patted Maan, "Way to go Maan!"
"Maan! Neeche utaro!" she said embarrassed.
"Jaan, mujhe haq hai," he whispered huskily bringing her close to him while she slid her arms around his neck. Geet blushed at his declaration and loved the way he had addressed her. The traditional ritual of the bride imprinting was finished with Geet still in his arms and that was followed by a set of games set for the bride and groom. Maan and Geet enjoyed trying to fool around each other while trying to win the game and on the other hand Arjun was shamelessly flirting with Naina.
At the end of all the games and other rituals the new couples, Naina and Arjun and Maan and Geet sat along with Prem and Dia.
"Kyun jijaji darr gaye na aap?" Naina teased referring to his sudden outburst.
"Haan," Maan began but soon realized how did Naina know about it. "Kya?" he asked shocked. "Tum, tum sab jaante thi?" he asked disbelievingly.
"Naina!" Geet screamed in panic while others around her sniggered. "Tumhari problem kya hai?" she asked with her eyes wide.
"Haila Geeto, itni naraazgi! Tauba!" she said dramatically. "By the way jiju yeh sab Geet ki planning thi aur uske saath is na layak Arjun ka bhi."
"Planning?" Maan asked skeptically still not grasping the situation.

"Varna tho kya, Geet wanted you to confess your feelings before your marriage to her," Dia stated grinning widely.

"Bhabhi, aap bhi iski saath thi?" Maan said, his voice a bit edgy. He never expected everyone knew about this so-called planning of Geet to make him confess his feelings for her. He wondered, what the hell was going on? It had scared the wits out of him to confess in the middle of the ceremony and here everyone knew about it and had simply done to make him confess. He wanted to probe into the details of the exact "plan" that Geet had executed against him. "Ek minute, time out everyone!" he said loudly causing everyone to turn towards him. "Yahaan kya ho raha hai?" he asked narrowing his eyes.
Geet realized Maan was going to be mad if he came to know she had actually tricked him into believing she was marrying Arjun just to make him confess his love. She nervously looked around the room before clearing her throat, "Voh Maan," she began uneasily.
"Arre Geet why are you hesitating. Tum thehro main bolunga," Arjun said, soothing her back. Geet caught Maan glaring at Arjun touching her and she moved away from him, not wanting to enrage Maan more. But Arjun didn't notice the change and cheerfully continued, "So Maan the story goes like this. Is pagal ladki tum pe bahut pehle hi mar gayi aur us bechari ko laga kit um bhi use pyaar karoge. Magar aaj tak tumne nahi kaha ki you even had the intentions of liking her. voh bechari ko nahi maalum tha ki how she would ask you whether you liked her or not. Voh toh bahut koshish ki to know what's on your mind but you are Maan Singh Khurana, a man who cannot be easily deciphered. Although she couldn't imagine a life without you, she didn't want to force you into liking her. That's where we all came into the picture."
"Wait saari story tum hi bologe, let me pitch in too!" Naina said whacking Arjun's arm lightly. "We all knew you did have feelings for her but just couldn't name it. I mean the credit for knowing you did like Geet goes to me of course," she said lifting her imaginary collar up.
"Oi jhoot bole kavva kaate!" Dia said twisting Naina's ears causing her to yelp. "Nahi Maan it was I who had actually known that look you have when you see Geet hayi, kitna romantic hai," Dia said looking dreamily.
As each person began to chime in their version of the story, Maan was fuming from inside. So all this while it had been a mere prank to make him confess! He looked baffled at each person as the real story began to unfold in front of his eyes. as they were telling the actual turn of events, his evil mind began to plan about the next plan of action, a way to extract revenge from Geet!
Maan walked in deep thought towards his room, a room where his Geet would be waiting as his bride. The events of the confessions flashed in front of him. According to the summed up version, Maan realized that Geet wanted to make him confess his love for her. Although the parents had arranged their marriage with him at the insistence of Prem, Dia, Naina, and others, Geet wanted Geet wanted his real emotions towards him. Although their first kiss had sealed his feelings for her, she wanted him to confess it in words. And thus, she had tactfully followed him to the backyard and teased him to see if he would confess but seeing that he didn't budge she had walked away, sure that He would follow her. Just as she had thought Maan did follow her and she saw him come from the corner of her eyes and lied about the name for the mehendi and as soon as he had left she had quickly as to change it. All her attempts had gone down the drain when he didn't even consider confessing his love thus she had dejectedly plan to shock him after the marriage but to her delight he had in fact confessed in front of everyone in the marriage hall, sealing his love for her. But what he didn't quite understand was the fact that how did he in the first place conclude that she was going to marry Arjun? Ah! He remembered, he had seen her say, "I'm yours forever in front of him, but how did Geet even know of his arrival? The unanswered questions were burning a hole in his brain and he decided to know exactly what was happening from Geet, who had seemed very mum when everyone were telling the story.
He entered the room in peace, thank god for Prem, he had taken care of the intended taxes from the girls side to enter the room to meet Geet. He slightly opened the door and noiselessly entered his room before locking the door shut, for a long night lay ahead of them.

how about some precap eh? 😉

Precap:
Maan saw the effect he had on her and smirked thinking of the ways he was going to make her yearn. "Itni jaldi bhi kya hai Geet, don't worry main tumhe kiss karoongi magar we still need to talk," he said with a smug on his face.
"Huh?" she asked fluttering her eyes open, and looked flushed at her own brazenness.
"We still need to talk jaan," he said seductively brushing his slender hands on her lips, causing her to gasp. "So where were we?" he asked slowly running his finger down to her chin and travelling through her neck. She arched her neck, giving him more access. He let his fingers carelessly linger near her cleavage while drawing random patterns on her open neck.
