The whole scene was so beautifully done ----
As they say marriage is between two people but it is a family wedding..Similarly, when a child is born--it becomes a family event..

You described it so well--the emotions of various members---first the anxiety and then the happiness; especially like the banter between the various family members as who the child looks like---this is so true that I am sure everyone has experienced that

As you said in your note, there are scene that your FF readers can relate to, as if they happened to them; those moments were part of our lives and you brought a smile to our faces, by making us remember those precious moments ---Thank You for that...

And the new parents..Dev bonding with his little one, the emotions of being a parent, the love between the parents and dreaming about the future---all these things are beautifully depicted---

Devika ji,Nice update...Loved the whole family enthusiasm seeing the baby and explaining cute little princess features and of course enjoyed Dev-angel and Dev-Rad scenes,but they were limited,hopefully will get more scenes with just three of them(dev-rad-little princess)in upcoming updates.Not clear about this--did dev heard the first baby cry or not...!Thank you:-):-).

Dev was sitting near Suchi , looking at his baby's sleep, and still talking about the tiny arms and long nails.

Surender and Lechu came in.

Lechu: mom, please give her in my arms, please, let me hold her once.

Dev: no way,

Lechu: why?

Dev: Lechu, she is so small, and you

Lechu: mom, I will hold her safe, please mom

Dev: nope

Lechu: Bro, you are so selfish

Dev: um

Suchi: Dev, Lechu go out and argue, poor Radhika she just closed her eyes, how can you guys make such noises.

Suddenly Lechu: sorry mom, please, yesterday you didn't give me a chance.

Suchi: yesterday who didn't give you chance, you were on your phone all the time, right.

Lechu: that is because

Suddenly Dev' s cell ring, and he went out from the room.

Surrender came near Suchi and took the baby in his hold very easily

Suchi: see you missed holding your babies when they born, but looks like you are an expert with your grand kid, how come?

Surender: that is our connection Suchi, can't you see that

Suddenly Suchi heard the cell vibration from near by, she checked and saw Surender's cell moving

But he was totally enjoing the tiny baby in his hold

Suchi: your phone

Surender: let it ring,

Suchi: may be some important...

Surender interupted: nothing important than my princess

Suchi sat with parted lips: really

Surender continued holding the baby

Lechu: Dad, please once dad, when I asked ,mom said she is sleeping, and why that is not applied for you

Surender: that's because I am the daada,

Lechu: then I am her bua

Suchi: you promise me you won't get up if your cell rings

Lechu: no, I won't, and to confirm it she kept her cell away turning it off, and looking at suchi: happy

Suchi smiled, asked her to sit, and then made Surender to place the baby on her lap.

Lechu's eyes gone wide seeing the baby sleeping in her hold.

She sat there controlling her breath.

Suchi: oh ho, what is this

Surrender: what?

Suchi: the towel

Surender: oops

Suchi: no problem, she has a light one underneath, beta, be careful ok

Lechu: don't she feel warm mom, covering her like this

Suchi: no beta, she needs that warmth, see she was all comfortale inside her mom's tummy all this time, now this is new environment, takes time to adjust, and getting that snuggle is comfortable and they need it.

Lechu saw Dev looking at her and smiling

Lechu sat proudly

Dev ame near: so finally you win

Lechu: as always

Dev: um

But then , Lechu: mom, I feel something warm underneath

Suchi: what?

Lechu: vo,I don't know, Oh my, it is trailing down

And she started shaking

Suchi: one second, let me hold my baby

Suchi took the little one from Lechu's lap and looked at Lechu's lap, and found the circle of wetness

Suchi: oh no she is wearing a nappy, and then how!

Lechu was sitting still not understanding it, she touched the wetness with her finger and tried to smell, and then stood on her feet, and her dress was soaked in wetness

Suchi: how can she pee, let me check

Dev looking at Lechu: you peed on your dress!!!

Lechu: me no

By the time SUhci was checking on the nappy and she started smiling

Dev: what? Lechu need a nappy too..

Suchi: I think I didn't tie it well, and it got escaped thru the side gap, oops sorry

Dev couldn't stop laughing and it burst out giving a clap with his hands

Lehcu : she peed on me!!!! and you are teasing me.. how sad

Suchi: sorry beta, I am also learing how to tie it well, first off all I don't like this, I prefer to leave them free, let her get home, and I am sure daadi is not going to allow it either.

Lechu: mom, she peed on me

Suchi: its ok lechu, she is tiny, and you know there is a saying ... the little ones urine is like Holy water

Lechu: WHAT!

Suchi: it will get dry soon

Radhika opened her eyes listening to the loud noices and she asked: kya huva?

Dev trying to control his laugh, went near Radhika and tried to explain it to her

Radhika: Oh Lechu, but mom , you put the nappy on, right?

Suhci: ha beta

Lechu: ha but not the way it suppose to be

Surender came in: where is my little princess

Lechu: there, you supposed to get it, and I rescued you, so you should compensate it with me.

Surrender came to know the incident, he controlled his laugh

Lechu: Bro, you don't need to laugh so much ok, soon you will get it too, anyway I forgive her, if you all agree with me

Suchi: agree with what

Lechu went near Radhika: bhabhi ,will you agree?

Radhika : agree with what?

Lechu: first you tell me , will you agree

Radhika: ha

Lechu: Ok from now onwards we will call her "chudki" agreed

The silence surrounded the room

Lechu: Its ok, bhabhi agreed already, so it is fixed and she went near the baby: hai Chudki, how are you, its ok, I am your bua right, so I forgive you. So now open your eyes and smile... eee

Suchi coming near: there is also a saying Lechu: the baby will pee only over those, whom they feel comfortable, so I am sure she really likes you

Lechu: ye, did you hear that Bro, she is more comfortable with me, you people are all waste, holding her all the time, but see, she loves me

But then Lechu startled as the baby opened its throat to its maximum, the sound just raised from mild to the wildest within fraction of seconds

Dev in a serious tone: lechu, see , hearing your voice only she started, she never cried, and you

Suchi: Dev calm down, she is hungry, Oh God, what you are saying she never cried, ya whenever she cried, you had your cell in your ears, and now

Dev: but mom, do something

Suchi: Um, I will do, don't worry, let me take her

Poor surrender was standing there without moving

Suchi: ha ha, an expert, look at him now

Surender: she is hungry, give her milk

Suchi: that won't happen if you just hold her in your hand ok

Surrender gave the baby in Suchi's hand and called Lechu out with him

Suchi took the baby near to Radhika, and asked Dev to close the door

Chudki's voice got blocked over that closed doors. Dev anxiously came running behind his mom

Radhika was trying to get up

Dev: mom do something, I think she got hurt somewhere, please check na

Suchi tried to calm her down: its ok beta, your mamma is getting ready, oh my this was quick, last time when your mamma tried to feed you, you slept , and she tried her maximum to wake you up and you didn't and now see, anyway cry as much as you want, and drink your stomach full ok, so that your mom also can take some rest.

Nothing was falling in dev's ears except his baby's cry

Dev: mom

Suchi: Dev, help Radhika to chair, ok

Dev: what?

Suchi: oh ho. now hold your baby, I can help her

Dev: mom, me, she is crying

Suchi: Dev

He automatically held his crying baby, his face looked flushed, he looked at his baby's face, it all turned red and he could see the stretching of her cheeks along with widening lips., and the tears were just rolling down thru that closed eyes, and he heard that closing of epiglottis few times as if she is trying to gather the energy in to expell that cry sound. " I really think she got hurt mom, can I call the doctor"

By the time, Suchi helped Radhika in chair and she got ready with the pillow and all on her lap.

Suchi: now bring the baby

Dev: mom, can I call the doctor

Suchi: oh god

Suchi went and took the baby and placed her in position for Radhika

Dev: mom I think

Suchi did not give her ears to his son' s talk

Suchi: Oh my, here, your food is ready, try it,

But Chudki refused to latch on for another minute, but then as her cheek touched Radhika's skin, she started moving her face and with so much shaking of that little head,she latched on, and that complaining sound came from her throat as if her mother took so long to get her there.

Suchi: appa, what is this Chudki, not even giving time for your mamma to sit comfortably. And see your dad, who is more impatient than you.

Turning little , she looked at Dev's posture

"why, didn't you go to call the doctor? how many times I told you, and not even listening"

Dev: how do I know mom, I really got scared

Suchi: so now do you think she called out "papa papa"

Dev: mom

Suchi with a teasing smile: what, you only told me.

Dev walked near to Radhika's chair, and sat on the next chair. Turning slightly to his baby's head side, he softly stroked over her hair.

Suchi: now don't disturb her, if you stroke her, she will sleep in no time and then again she will start crying like this within few minutes.

Dev suddenly moved his hand out

Suchi: no Dev, I was simply joking, anyway you are here, let me talk to Sammy's mom, she called yesterday and I didn't get a chance to talk to her, ok.

Dev: ji

Suchi walked away: and don't run to call the doctor, I am here only ok, and don't get panick, your baby is fine.

Dev: ji

Suchi: um

Dev just gave a shy smile to Radhika listening to his mom's warnings for him.

Radhika just controlled her smile inwardly.

Dev watched his baby's moving cheek, and he slowly touched her soft cheek.

"Radhika, she is really tiny, right?"

Radhika: um

Dev: so she was really hungry

Radhika didn't say anything

Dev: I think I better understand all these , right?, otherwise they may laugh at me

Radhika: um

Dev: I think she looks like you Radhika.her eyes, her lips

Radhika:um

Dev: what um, you suppose to say she looks like me

Radhika: um

Dev: ha Radhika, look at her, I think she looks like me only, mom also told

Rahdika: mom told me too

Dev: see , will you agree with me then

Radhika: um

Radhika moved her baby back as she went light on her sucking force.

She tried to hold the baby the way she saw Suchi and ROhini doing in an attempt to get that burp out.

Dev: what are you doing?, let her drink

Radhika: no , I need to burp her, or she will sleep just tlike this , I need to feed her more

Dev: that's what i am saying , to feed her

Radhika: no I need to get that burp out

Dev: what burp

Radhika didn't say anything

Dev: Radhika

Radhika tried to tap on the back , but she was not getting it in right, there the siren started again as she got disturbed from her comfort sleep.

Dev: I told you radhika, she was all fine, and then you only made her to cry

Radhika: call mom

Dev: she was sleeping all fine and

Radhika: call mom

But the baby's sound was loud enough to give suchi that alarm, she came running in

Suchi: what happened beta

Dev: she was all fine and then Radhika

Radhika: mom she needs to be burped and I am not getting it correct

Suchi: give her to me

She took the baby and tried to tap her back, and the baby slow down slightly and then it trailed off

Dev coming and standing near mom : she stopped

Suchi: I left because I thought Dev is with you, but I think I better stay with you all the time.

Dev: mom she was fine it is when she took her to tap her

Suchi: Dev

Dev: um

A small burp sound expelled from the baby's throat.

Suchi with a relief: havu, I think I got one out

Few minutes passed, she gave back baby in Radhika's arms,

Suchi: look at her, she is all awake

Dev: really, let me see

Dev came and kneel down, to see his baby wide awake with open eyes

Radhika happily held her

Dev: did you see her?

Suchi: she was awke many times, it is you who missed it

Dev: why no one calls me at that time

Suchi: oh ya, we were not knowing that.

Dev: how cute ,right, hai baby

She turned to look at his dad

Dev just sat there silently looking at his baby, their eyes met

Few minutes passed

Dev: mom, can she see me?

Suchi: why? She is looking at you only

Dev: can she really see me

Suchi; um, and she can hear you too

Dev: really mom

Suchi: Ha dev

Dev: she can hear me too

Suchi: ha beta. Let me look for Lechu ok, will be right back. she went away

Dev saw his baby still looking at him only. He slowly touched her tiny finger and then slowly wrapped her head with his another hand, moving more closer, he mumbled: hai princess, can you hear me, can you see me, I am here, near you, now I can hold you in my arms, his voice was getting wet, but still he was able to voice it out: I waited for you, you are my angel

suddenly that lightly pink soft lips stretched out giving a slight upper curve on its both corner, and it parted slightly and he could see those toothless pink gums.

He smiled wide too: ha, you heard me, my little princess, so you heard me right, um, I know what you are trying to tell me. Ya baby, I am here, near you. your smile is very cute, very very cute... ahha.. very cute..

The smile disappeared and the baby looked at him seriously and then turned her face towards her mom.

Dev: hei, are you going to sleep again, so soon.

"where is she, let me see her, is she awake?"

Lechu's voice came loud through the open door side, and Dev looked at that space and got up on his feet.

Lechu came near and enthusiastically looked at the baby, and disappointed seeing the closed lids

Lechu looked at dev

Dev: maybe she knew that you were coming

Lechu: BROoo

Suchi: no Lechu

Lechu: oops , sorry

Suchi: let me take the baby, Radhika you take rest, ok.

The day passed quick and so do the night.

As if listening to his hope, the day light flashed over chandenpur, and it was shining above the head brightly. Radhika got out from the car, and walked slowly into her home. Sushma held chudki close to her heart, Dev happily accompanied his family with that unfaded smile on his face. Daadi was smiling wide and Rahul just went and hugged his sister, and then went near Sushma to see his niece.

Sushma: look , your mama is here, wake up beta.

Rahul felt shy that he moved near to Dev quickly.
