Daksh and Naina reach Lonavla. They get out of the car and go into the house where the ceremony is taking place. Naina remembers her own engagement day,
and she hesitates for a while, as she watches the hosts, with the bride to be and Abhi and his mother doing the aarthi. The mother without any qualms tells her son to be happy. Naina watches them from outside. They present the gifts and jewelry. She remembers how Abhi made the big performance and asked her hand in marriage at the skit they had played on the day of the anniversary of the marriage of Vibha and Vidhyadar. Daksh, looking at Naina, asks her if she is o.k. and tells her that if she wants they could go back. "We have come to such a distance not just to go back" so saying Naina tells him, that she wants to go in, and she enters. She witnesses everything as Abhimanyu Kulkarni moves to his next stage in life. Daksh is constantly looking at Naina and the effect all this has on her, and says to himself, that he is sorry, and watches how she is suffering. He tells himself, that this is a medicine she has to take, in order to become the old Naina he knew, and also says that he is sorry for administering it to her. The guests are wishing them, and praising the girl, and Minoo's son. Naina reaches a boiling point. Still waters run deep as they say. Daksh tells her to wipe her tears.
At home , Shyamal is trying to pacify her sister in law, and tells her that she is thinking of her son and Naina. Vibha says that allowing them to go to Lonavla, was a mistake. Shyamal tells her that Daksh will not allow any travesty and then they
hear Sonakshi who has invited herself in with her mother in tow, and starts her complaints about Daksh and Naina, and that he has ignored her and Vibha tells that once the marriage takes place her son will give her importance. And then Sonakshi asks her why he has done like this, and taken Naina instead of her, and the worried mother of Sonakshi looks on. Vibha tells her that Naina is a good friend and he feels obliged to help her to come out of her trauma. Sonakshi tells her that just as she tries to explain to her, she should also do the same to Daksh. Sonakshi has a special request to make, and that is for them to know she needs a lot of attention, and her mother gets her voice, and tells them that she never tires of speaking about Daksh. Sonakshi volunteers to prepare tea for them so that they could appreciate what a wonderful daughter in law they are going to have. Shyamal invites Sonakshi's mother to join them and feel free with them but she says that she wants to speak to them about something else. She wants to tell them, that she had a proposal which was brought for Sonakshi, and now that she wants to marry Daksh she thought the boy, who is from a good and respected family, could be suitable for Akruti and when she tries to apologize for intruding on their privacy, Vibha says that she has full right. Sonakshi's mother praises Akruti and asks them to find her opinion. She wants to meet Akruiti but they tell that she has gone to meet a friend. Hope this wonderful boy, who was proposed to Sonakshi is not the same person, Akruti has gone to see.
Ayush tells Akruti, who is at his place, and praises her for convincing his parents. He never expected she would do it, and she has taken him, out of a difficult predicament. He tells her that they believed her that their son is such a decent person, has been led astray by her. He wants to rub this in to her, and insult her. She turns her back and moves to go, and he wonders when they would meet again. He tells that he never wishes to see her face, again, a poor girl from a middle class family. She regains her voice, and throws his insults back at him and says that she too abhors him and does not want to look at his face, a face of a gutless man, with no principles or remorse and then he advises her to have an abortion. He jokes, and then Akruti gets angry with him, but the disgusting person walks away without any remorse. She remembers how he persuaded her with promises of loyalty and trapped her. She cries and falls apart, and goes home. These are the respectable boys from respectable families, introduced by money minded match-makers, to gullible parents of girls, who want glamor and riches and a bright 'future' for their daughters !
Minoo sees Daksh standing out with Naina and says, that she feels very happy to see him, and tells him, that she only wants to speak to him and invites him in. But he does not move. Naina tells him, that the invitation is only for him so she will go back. Daksh tells her that they both go in, as they have come such a long distance. Daksh tries to instigate her to get a reaction from her, pointing up to Abhi. A guest tells another, about how an illegitimate girl was going to marry him, and Minoo found right in time, and got rid of the girl. Naina is within ear shot, of this woman, and hears what she has said.
In the pre cap Abhi sees that Naina has come uninvited and he abuses her with rude words in front of Daksh. She shows her first reaction, by swinging her arm, and forcefully bringing it to settle on his powdered cheek, which reverberates in the hall, and astounds everyone.
