RUKMINI'S EVERLASTING TROUBLES
Rukmini is crying in the temple while Krishna is playing the flute. Rukmini prays that she did all the worships sincerely and she only asked for Krishna. Then why did She snatch Krishna from her. What was the flaw in her worship? Why did She punish her? Just then Rukmi comes and tells her that it is not punishment; but blessing. Just because of that Krishna is removed from her life and she got someone eligible for her. And her brother has brought such a relation for her. Rukmi congrats Rukmini. Rukmi discloses that he has finalized her relation with Shishupal. Rukmini gets the shock of her life. Rukmi congrats her once more and leaves.
THE ASTROLOGER'S PROPHECY
Rukmi invites an astrologer and tells him to check the compatibility of the horoscopes of Shishupal and Rukmini and tell an apt time for marriage. The astrologer after checking the horoscopes comments that; Shishupal is a powerful king and any bother would be happy to give his sister's hand to such a powerful man. Rukmi is pleased and gives him some presents. But the astrologer refuses to take it. Rukmi asks if he was expecting something bigger. The astrologer tells that there isn't even a single compatibility between Rukmini and Shishupal. They are not lucky for each other and according to astrology; this marriage cannot happen. If marriage cannot take place then how can he fix a time? Rukmi is fuming with anger. He takes the sword and goes to kill the astrologer; but stops himself saying that it is the astrologer's luck that he is the official astrologer. Rukmi is withdrawing this status from him and also giving the order to all his subjects not to show their horoscopes to him. Rukmi throws him out. Rukmi tells himself that no horoscope or ritual have that much strength to alter the decision made by Rukmi. The time he fixes will become the time for marriage. Even God cannot stop this marriage. He gives orders to begin the rituals for Rukmini-Shishupal marriage.
VISHNU-LAKSHMI CONVERSATION
Vishnu smiles and Lakshmi inquires the reason for it. Vishnu tells that when man is filled with pride he begins to think that he is above God; even he will challenge God and he moves closer to his own destruction. Lakshmi showers her sympathy on Rukmini and says that Vishnu is enjoying everything; but Rukmini is suffering very much. Rukmini wishes for Krishna and her brother wants to marry her to someone else. Is He enjoying this? Why He is not helping Rukmini? Vishnu asks what he should do. Should He change the destiny of Rukmini. Happiness and sorrow or like day and night. If He takes away the night from Rukmini; then day will not come to her life. If one is in the human form; then one will have to enjoy the light of day and also fight the darkness of night. This is the rule of human life then how could he alter it for Rukmini.
HALDI FOR RUKMINI
Rukmini's "haldi" ceremony and the maids are singing and dancing. Rukmini and her mother are upset. Rukmini is thinking only about Krishna and is crying.
KRISHNA-BALARAM IN COURT
Krishna and Balram are sharing the thrown and they ask in court is there anyone else who have come to the court with problem. The commander tells that the head of a village which is in the border of Dwaraka has come with a problem. The chief says that his village is far away from Dwaraka and they used to get things for daily use from the traders. But now those traders have changed their way and all the goods have finished. Village is in the clutches of poverty. Now only Krishna and Balram can help them. Balram asks then why couldn't they cultivate. The headman replies that their land is barren and they cannot cultivate anything there. Krishna tells that He will give cultivatable land for all the people of the village in Dwarak. All the people can shift to Dwaraka. The headman tells that if Krishna and Balram plough their land then it would be fertile. The commander is angry at this and asks him to stay within his limits. Krishna and Balram are not his servants. Krishna tells the commander that a good king must be a servant to the people. Krishna and Balram promises to go to the village the next day.
KRISHNA AND BALRAM IN THE VILLAGE
Krishna and Balram reaches the village and Balram does the pooja and Balram begins to plough the land. The village headman thanks Krishna and Balram. Krishna and Balram leaves after completing their work. While returning Balram tells Krishna that the son of their aunt, Shishupal is getting married to Rukmini. He doesn't know that they are alive and hence didn't send an invitation. Balram also suggests that they must send a message stating their wellbeing so that he may send an invitation. Krishna tells that if something like that happens then they will have to face Jarasandh also. Balram says that if it is like that he is not going to listen to Krishna's words this time. He will take the complete army with him and kill Jarasandh. Krishna tells that Balram is elder to him and He doesn't dare speak anything to Balram. And why should Balram listen to someone who is small.
