Anushka was recently spotted at a Juhu multiplex, where she turned up to catch a film with a few friends and family. While she was dressed casually in a white tee, black denims and striped chappal s, a couple of accessories caught everyone's attention.

The first was a huge giraffe pendant that, of course, can be termed as a whacky style statement.

What got everyone around whispering was the sparkling little stone on the ring finger on her left hand.

Speculations immediately started doing the rounds if Anushka has secretly had an engagement, and also over who had given her the expensive diamondstudded ring.

" The buzz that Anushka has secretly got engaged gained ground because she was wearing the ring on the specific finger that signifies engagement. The stone also caught attention because it seemed out if place with her otherwise casual attire," said a source present at the venue.

Meanwhile Anushka's blowhot, blow- cold relationship with her Band Baaja Baaraat co- star Ranveer Singh has once again come into focus after the ring episode, giving rise conjectures if Ranveer is the man. Most in the industry however feel it is too early for either Ranveer or Anushka - both rising superstars - to settle down just yet.

" Ranveer is barely 25 and Anushka around 23. Both of them are poised for big things as stars. It's unlikely they will plan an engagement at this point," said the source. Sources also point out at reports that Anushka and Ranveer have recently had a tiff.

However, industry insiders are totally dismissing the speculation that the ring could indeed mark an engagement for Anushka, even if the man in question is not Ranveer.

"Actors getting engaged or married secretly is an old trend in Bollywood.

For someone like Anushka especially, it would make sense to be silent about an engagement if she did go for it, because her career is on the rise," said a source.

In the past, Juhi Chawla, Aamir Khan and Govinda have been among stars who hid their married status for long during the phase when their careers were on the rise.

Anushka has in the recent past also been linked with Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. However, just like Ranveer Singh, neither Ranbir nor Shahid seem to be in the mood to settle down yet.

So, who could it be? As the question does the rounds on the grapevine, may be the whole act was merely tease on Anushka's part. After all, it did get her some smooth publicity.
