The cloning of body parts is interesting and much progress gas been made. Matter of time when they will try to create whole bodies and other variations.

Hopes of connecting with eternity, of course, touch deep human longings.

No harm in speculating is there 😆

I wonder how one would transfer memory and personality into a new fresh body. The brain which is said to store the memory is itself perishable. So there would have to be an intermediary object where memory can somehow be extracted and stored before transferring it into the new brain. Wonder how much of the memory would be extractable – short term memory, long term memory, deeper impressions , subconscious memory… wouldn't it be desirable to erase unnecessary data that had gathered by the old body and only carry over what we deem relevant into the new body. Would one want a similar body or one with a different look. Wouldn't it make more sense to make the new body more wear and tear resistant than the old one? Would that eliminate the susceptibility to disease causing organisms and pain? What implications would that have ? With a new body its possible that some would want new thoughts and ideas and skills to go with it. How much of the data could one retain or alter to keep the sense of "Me" intact . Sounds quite close to the concept of re- incarnation except that the new body would be made by humans!

I think everything can be cloned except the spirit.
But if a perfect body can be cloned, the next step would be to transfer the spirit from one body to another.
