Natural birth is preferred but where this is not possible I guess cloning is one alternative, provided it does not bring about monsters.

You mean Dr. Frankenstein's monster! 😆

According to the Human Genome Project, there are three types of cloning: DNA, therapeutic, and reproductive cloning. DNA cloning involves transferring DNA from a donor to another organism. Therapeutic cloning, known as embryo cloning, involves harvesting stem cells from human embryos to grow new organs for transplant. Reproductive cloning creates a copy of the host.

If you are monster then reproductive will surely bring out another monster! 😉

Through the reproductive human cloning, a single person will be able to produce offspring without the physical presence of a partner. Will the child be denied the love of one parent? I believe child is a symbolic expression of the mutual love of its parents and their hope for the future. Is love lost when a child's life begins in some lab.

Thanks for the link Aarya. I find this whole idea of 'Reproductive Cloning' very disturbing to be honest. When you start messing with nature this way - you could very well end up with the Frankenstein's monster besides other complications that may arise from this process. Just think, its not fair on anyone...besides life's complicated as it is, don't you think?

What exactly do you mean by eternal life? The type of life that...umm.. a Lestat lives? ;)

there are many children with single parent and some with no parent. single parent is better than no parent. Why should love be lost just because a child's life begins in a lab or anywhere other than it. People love children that they have adopted not knowing their source.

To your point, I agree that you can love a child regardless, even if the theory of adoption is thrown into the same category. But don't you think cloning threatens to sever the link between sex, marriage and reproduction, and to render the male role in reproduction obsolete.

Cloning is the key to give us eternal life and to cure all disease on Earth, but eternal life is the ultimate goal.

This one's as fascinating as any other developments of Science.
Not that I got even close to decent knowledge over the subject, I dun still see a reason why it'd be lethal to the family's integrity?

Of course, nobody is going to go for this unless essential, so wham!
One must not be so dimwitted all the time, in the sense they go on neglecting a fact and being mean in the name of reputation.
