The episode, starts with the scene, where Minoo Kulkarni, insults Naina and her
mother, Anjali. She goes on and on, with her vociferous and melodramatic soliloquy, trying to prove herself, to be a self righteous, lady, with high principles, as a captive audience, gives her a moment of glory, not out of persuasion, but out of a courtesy, and respect to the home of Vidhyadar and Vibha Patwardan. The pure and thorough bred Abhi Kulkarni is far above the status of a girl, whose antecedents have suddenly come to light. For the viewers this is old history, as they know how fickle her son is, and how cowardly he hides behinds his mothers petticoat strings, sheltering the letter Naina wrote, and leaving her in the dark. His doting mother on the other hand will die of shame and ignominy, if she were to be told in front of the people, if Naina were to open her mouth. Naina however has shown herself to be above Minoo's standards, and when Daksh intervenes, and wants Abhi to answer, she stops him, saying that had he iny guts, and was a man, he would have opened his mouth long ago.
To add insult to injury, Naina comes forward, and tries to reason out with Minoo, but blind people can not see, and she shuts the girl with her autocratic dictum. When Naina sees, her nature, of intolerance and superior attitude, and her son's weak backbone, she decides, and tells this arrogant person, "I am not interested in getting into your family, which looks down upon me, because I am illegitimate. I know that, and I have written to you, but you do not want to listen to me. So, I myself, break this agreement, and refuse to be your daughter in law, or your son's wife."
She rips the jewelry from her head, and walks up to her room followed by her mother. The stunned hearers, get their voice eventually, as the thorough bred woman calms down, and her sister comes to her and argues with her. She tells her that both of them came from the same parents, but she does not know at what stage her views came down to this. She tells her that it was not Naina's fault to be born, and she does not have a say in what her father did, but in her life, she has been exemplary and good and she, Vibha can never be shaken from her view of this girl, whom she loves. Her sister scolds her for speaking irreverently like this to her elder sister. The younger one retorts, and says, that when older people become like children, they too need correction, and in such situation, if the younger one has more brains, she should use them, to bring the other on the right path. All this while, Daksh stares at his cousin, for his gutless behavior, and argues in favor of Naina to his aunt, but in her present mood, she feels it is below her dignity to give her one and only son, to someone who has no class or culture.
Rohini also gets her voice back, but her mind works in a deviant way, and her hatred motivates all her invectives and prejudiced and jaundiced views of others, and especially of Naina, whom she always considered a threat to her hegemony in this house.
Minoo requests the guests to leave, and apologizes that she was kept in the dark, and justifies her actions, the doctor leaves her in disgust, but without expressing her views, but they are evident on her face. The bubbly Sonakshi for a wonder has been quiet all the time, and she quietly disappears. Akruti is affected and knows what she can expect, and why Naina was so particular about saving her. Kaka Shridar, had been very quiet throughout the tantrums of Minoo Kulkarni, nodding his head, or shaking from one side to another, as mischievous thoughts were wandering through his brain. Shyamal soothes Vibha, and no one volunteers to cheer or argue with Minoo. She and her son, lick their wounds. The snake of a son, who did not mind, his bride to be, being insulted by his mother, as for him, his skin, is more important that Naina, who was for him something to play with. This stupid son, hopefully deserves the girl in Amravati, whom his mother had first chosen, and straighten his back bone, and make him do all the work, as does his sister in law Rohini.
Anjali, tries to ask Naina to open the door, as she has closed herself in. The mother is broken hearted, and regrets all the unhappiness she had caused this child, with the same attitude of this hated Minoo. Now she knows the difference, but it is too late. In all this Diwakar, comes out as truly a giant among the pigmies.
In the pre-cap, you see wandering in the night looking for Naina, and he climbs the terrace, and opens the door and looks ... wait for tomorrow.
