One Rainy Night' AR OS
The once radiant sapphire sky drizzled in sprinkles of rain that dripped in the stream of her pathway while the water droplets washed away the dust and painted the sky in dark thundering black. The sight twinkled in her emerald eyes that bore into the rainy night. The wind was ferocious as thunder struck the sky in anger causing even the stars to shy away. Ridhimma smiled pulling the curtain over the translucent window.
Slowly striding towards the comfort of her couch she picked and grabbed few things that dirtied her cosy house. Placing the items on her dark brown table, she clutched her favourite book in her palm and settled in her spot that spoke of her name. Flicking through the pages of gone with the wind time sailed away. Ridhimma felt herself deter the outside world and sink deeper into the fantasy that cozied around her.
Pages and pages were turned as she anatomized every word, every sentence and every paragraph behind the story. The world disappeared and swirled around her as she felt her heart shake with the event of the story that commanded her attention at sight. The words that were scribed in every page she turned stained her soul with a meaning that soaked her heart in bountiful of wishes for such love to exist. Her emotions rode with the pages that were read with her forest green eyes, the world indifferent to her, now.
Knock! Knock!
The throbbing sound on her door shook her as she jumped in fright. The book fell on the side of the sofa that neatly tucked away the aged body of the torn brown book. Her hand raced to her chest feeling the beat of her heart that was in turmoil, she controlled her breathing and stood up confused. She swiftly attached her eyes on the clock that hang on the crisp white wall ticking away time, 12.47 am? The very thought of someone visiting her at such time made her scratch her head in worry.
She slowly and carefully attended to the door with her mind and conscious yelling in caution; she stood behind the door that was shut tight unaware of what to do. The banging on the door had loudened with the pouring of the rain that hammered the concrete floor. She swallowed the gulp of fear that rooted in her heavily beating heart and with a shaky voice that uttered scarce she called out for their identity.
The wolfing of the rain whispered back with nothing but a swishing sound, the knocks agitated and sent her skin to shiver and every fibre in her body to yell danger. Despite the feelings that erupted within her, with a click and a twist of her hand she slightly creaked open the door, curiosity always plagued her heart. A thin chain was the only barrier that kept her safe from the unknown stranger.
The shoulder of the man with a soaked black leather jacket reflected back at her, she tilted her head but in vain as the dark of the night clouded his face. She whispered with a low voice once again asking for identity, the man whispered back but the thrashing sound of the rainy night hindered the whispered words out of his lips. She once again swallowed with fear burning in her heart. With a shaking hand and a reminder of helping someone in need she broke the chain of its place and opened the door with her heart running in a speed she never thought possible.
Her eyes blinked in a daze as she stood still unaware of the sudden silence that captured both. The piercing blue of his mysterious eyes radiated a colour so cold and fierce that even the blue of the sky bowed in its presence. It purged into hers calming and intimidating her heart in a strange sense like no other man had flickered in her before. He stood tall and proud soaking wet in rain that covered and streamed down his clothes. His dark hair pinned to his scalp and dripped of water covering the side of his face.
"I am sorry but my car broke down and this was the closest house, can I use your phone?"
As the husky voice dawned on her she dropped her gaze which trigged a pile of chocolate tresses to fall on her sight while she moved out of her stand on the door, silently welcoming him inside. Closing the door, her heart sizzled with a fear that awakened a thousand questions to why. Passing a wryly smile at his direction she tucked a lock of hair behind her ears while composing her heart to normality. She paced towards her phone in a hurry making herself even worry, while he reluctantly followed causing a line of water to follow his turns.
Offering the phone in his direction she felt herself drawn to his eyes that stared at her in wonderment. His every feature dripped in water, his face pale and his lips cold yet he looked undeniably gorgeous. Feeling his blue eyes on her she felt her soul shake in anxiety as her vision travelled to anywhere but him. As he grabbed the phone their finger stroked into a touch that burned with an orange flame but with a chill as cold as the wind that breezed in her slender figure. She quickly pulled her hand back to herself suddenly more aware of her surroundings, afraid.
She slowly met his eyes wondering if he felt it too, their sight interlocked a little longer than needed. Afraid of the new arising feelings she turned her sight away from his busying herself with cleaning the mess that occupied her coffee table.
"Thank you."
He spoke pressing the end button on the phone while directing it in her direction. Ridhimma smiled still afraid of the eyes that made her uncomfortable and her heart race, both joked at her conscious expense. She grabbed the phone and their hands met once more. The same gushing chill settled in her skin that shivered. She stood in full height staring within the depth of his eyes that mirrored his vulnerable soul while he did the same. Their hands and eyes still meeting.
Armaan. He uttered
